The next day, the kingdom of Alagascar glinted beneath the morning sun, its rays casting tall reflections across the buildings.
Passersby exchanged pleasantries, and farmers returned to their duties. The kingdom buzzed with life, its citizens cheerful as they went about their daily activities.
King Charlenugo had just exited his chamber when he spotted Grace standing still at the flower garden.
He moved slowly, his steps unsteady as he continued recovering after the healing. "Commander Robert," he called out.
Commander Robert approached. "Your Highness," he said, saluting.
"Prepare my carriage. I'll be visiting the farms today," King Charlenugo said, his voice low and breath shallow.
Robert hesitated. "But Your Highness, that is King Quicke's duty."
Without turning back, King Charlenugo repeated firmly, "Get it ready."
Still by the garden, Grace tilted her head at the sound of approaching footsteps. "Father, you're up already," she said with a warm smile.
