The clock chimed midnight. Clara entered a dream. One by one, mice began to appear and dance in front of Clara. Clara was scared. Then, the room grew bigger and the Nutcracker became life-sized. Then, the Mouse King appeared and all the mice bowed to him. Clara was so afraid of the mice that she jumped onto the Nutcracker. Then, she got off of him. The Nutcracker began to fight the mice. Soldiers came and lined up. A cannon was pushed forward and it fired. The Nutcracker led the soldiers in a charge, but the mice killed most of the soldiers. The Nutcracker then was handed a sword and he fought the Mouse King. Clara distracted the Mouse King by throwing her shoe at him. The Nutcracker stabbed the Mouse King. The Mouse King wounded the Nutcracker. Drosselmeier saw that Clara was sad and got her to help him pull the Nutcracker to his feet. Drosselmeier mysteriously disappeared. The Nutcracker transformed into a handsome Prince. He ran his hand through his hair.
