Unfortunately, this novel has not gained enough support for me to keep going. I'm considering dropping this sorry :(

Chapter 55: Leading the Breakthrough (Part 2)

"So, how much of our supplies do we have left in the camp? How long can we hold out?"

Koshino might be a rookie on the battlefield, but as a transmigrator, he understands the critical importance of war supplies.

To put it simply, if people can't eat, they can't fight.

War supplies include food for the ninja troops, and if these supplies are compromised, it's akin to an army running out of provisions.

Being surrounded by the enemy would then be no different from waiting for death.

As Koshino's question echoed, the leader of the medical unit nodded silently.

Having long known Koshino's identity, the leader of the medical unit was the only one aware of Akatsuki Koshino's strength within the entire medical team.

Now, from Koshino's very first question, it was clear that Haku Koshino was not just an ordinary kid.

So, while the leader of the medical unit had more faith in Koshino, he sighed deeply and said,

"Shadow, during the previous raid, our war supplies weren't damaged at all, so the remaining supplies can sustain us for at least ten days."

"But, Shadow, you must understand that the medical unit is different from regular ninja troops."

"Our camp has so many injured, so many severely wounded patients, and our daily consumption is three times that of a regular ninja unit. The supply of medicines and some medical equipment cannot stop!"

Saying this, the leader of the medical unit extended three fingers, continuing with difficulty to Koshino, "Three days, at most three days, before the injured in our unit start to suffer from depletion.

If we can't get supplies after three days, most of the injured, even some with minor injuries, might die tragically surrounded by the enemy!"

"The enemy's strategy is truly vicious; they're directly targeting our medical unit to delay the frontline troops and buy more time."

"So, Shadow, do you understand why I summoned you here?"

"I understand, Captain!"

After hearing so much from the leader of the medical unit, if Koshino didn't grasp the meaning, he would indeed be a fool.

Undoubtedly, within the medical unit, the most suitable person to break through and deliver information was Koshino, an Anbu.

It's well known that Anbu and regular ninjas undergo different training.

In some situations, when facing a breakthrough, if a Jonin-level ninja has only a thirty percent chance of success, Anbu has a fifty percent chance,

and the likelihood of successfully delivering information is much higher than that of regular ninjas.

Of course, even though the leader of the medical unit knew Koshino's identity, he was unaware that Koshino hadn't undergone professional Anbu training.

Unfortunately, with the entire medical unit facing a dire situation, the leader had to trust the young Anbu before him and place the responsibility on Koshino's shoulders.

However, the leader of the medical unit also understood the principle of not putting all eggs in one basket, so Koshino was just one egg.

After Koshino went to break through and deliver the information, the leader would certainly send out others he deemed more reliable, but that wasn't something Koshino needed to worry about.

As Koshino walked out of the medical unit leader's camp, his entire demeanor changed dramatically.

Having endured and restrained himself for so long, Koshino finally seized an opportunity to go to the battlefield. How could he let down the fruits of his hard training?

Almost immediately after leaving the medical unit leader, Koshino headed to the camp of his good friend, the sensory-type ninja, Tatami.

Whether for breaking through or subsequently finding the main force and delivering information, Koshino needed a sensory-type ninja.

Then, after Koshino explained the situation, Tatami didn't disappoint him, smiling as he replied, "Shadow, congratulations!

For a sensory-type ninja like me, being in the logistics unit might not feel like much, but for someone like you, you've probably had enough, right? This is a great opportunity. If you can successfully complete the mission, the Fourth HoShadow won't ignore your contributions."

"But if we're really talking about breaking through, Shadow, how about I introduce you to two more companions?"

"With them, our chances of a successful breakout could increase by at least twenty percent!"

"Oh? Who are they?"

As a perceptive ninja, Tatami was always a cautious person, even needing to carefully consider every word he spoke.

So, when Koshino learned that Tatami was going to introduce two reliable companions, Koshino nodded with a smile and agreed to summon the two new companions recommended by Tatami.

However, when those two new companions, under Tatami's grand introduction, appeared before Koshino, who was originally hopeful and thought Tatami was going to introduce two Jonin, Koshino was truly stunned.

Because Koshino had never expected that the two individuals Tatami was introducing were actually familiar faces from the original storyline!

"Shadow, this is Sarutobi Asuma. He's the son of the Third HoShadow, very strong!"

"And as for this one... hehe!"

"Kurenai Yuhi, a very strong genjutsu-type ninja, her target is none other than Lady Tsunade!"

"Shadow, nice to meet you. Please take care of us."

"Kurenai, Asuma, please take care of us too!"

With their faces hidden behind Anbu masks, Kurenai Yuhi and Sarutobi Asuma's tone didn't reveal Koshino's awkwardness.

However, hidden behind the mask, Koshino was dying of embarrassment!

After all, Koshino really couldn't imagine that the companions Tatami introduced were two kids! Adding Koshino and Tatami, their breakout team was practically a squad of kids!

Alright, Koshino didn't mean to underestimate Kurenai Yuhi and Sarutobi Asuma, as both were famous Jonin in the original storyline.

However, at this time, Kurenai Yuhi had just recently become a Chunin, and even Sarutobi Asuma,

who seemed a bit cocky with his unruly hair and mature demeanor, found it difficult to handle an average Chunin.

With two burdens in tow, Koshino truly couldn't see much hope for a successful breakout.

But since they were recommended by Tatami, Koshino couldn't just send them away, so he had to swallow his frustration and said with a stiff upper lip,

"Kurenai, Asuma, since 'Sense' recommended you, I naturally trust your abilities.

But I must say this upfront: this mission is extremely dangerous, and we might all end up buried in the enemy's encirclement.

So, if you're not confident in yourselves, it's okay to back out now!"

Clearly, Koshino intended to scare Kurenai Yuhi and Sarutobi Asuma a bit, hoping they'd back off.

Unexpectedly, as soon as Koshino finished speaking, Sarutobi Asuma nonchalantly replied, "Shadow, don't say useless things, just tell us when to break out!"

"Heh, I've been ready for a long time, just waiting for your order!"

"Uh..."

"We're about to leave."

If Sarutobi Asuma's carefree attitude only left Koshino with a headache, then Kurenai Yuhi's focus would make both Koshino and Tatami feel like coughing up blood!
