"Nathan?"
"Nathan?!"
Khalan was bewildered with what just happened.
"What do you mean by you are sorry?!" She asked loudly, standing from the bed immediately to run after Nathan who just left her in utter confusion.
She walked to the door, wrapping her one arm round her chest and using the other to pull it open.
She peeked outward only to find the hallway empty and void of life.
"Where did he go to?" She puzzled, stepping slightly out of the door to get a better look at the whole hall and there were still no signs of him and come to think of it, she never heard any foot steps after he left the door.
"Did he just disappear?" Her state of disarray seemed to elevate with each second that went by.
She thought of going round to look for him but she discarded the thought, being scared that she might get lost or even worst, he might come back to look for her any time soon and might not be happy if she was not in the room waiting for him. With a sad sigh, walked back into the room, leaving the door open so she could atleast look out for when he might pass by or when he shall return, she knew he would.
She fell on the bed lifelessly, still finding it very difficult to wrap her head round what just happened. She could not help but wonder if she did anything wrong or maybe somehow got Nathan upset, so much for him to leave the way he did.
"Oh no" she felt really sad and frustrated within her, it was more like she was stuck between choosing if she should be angry at him leaving that way or at herself getting him annoying in whatever way she did …but did she actually annoy him? It was really so hard to tell.
If she was being honest, he seemed to like what she was doing to him earlier, the way she touch him and the way she was bold enough to make her own moves on him. He showed no signs of any appalling behavior or reaction to everything they did, why then did he suddenly leave the room.
"Urghhh!" she grabbed a pillow and muffled her screams into it.
She has never been so confused all her life, everything just seemed to not make sense at all. At this point, she was already crying. She manage to pull herself together, putting her dress back in order and getting under the sheets. She could not help but to wonder how differently things would have gone if she had just listened to him earlier and went back to sleep.
For all she knew, she made advances to him, she initiated the whole intimacy and maybe that was what got Nathan upset. The thought of it all made her sob harder, soaking the pillow with her tears but she could not careless. Nathan was gone, he left angrily and that was all she cared about.
She kept crying with trembling shoulders and muffled sounds till she finally passed out. She was indeed stressed and need rest so no matter how much she wanted to stay up and cry, her body need to sleep a good amount at that so it did just that at it pleased.

(The underworld kingdom)
Moments earlier….
"Urghhhh!!!"
Lucifer emerged, his eyes filled with terror and his voice laced with anguish. He made his way hastily to his Dynasty Den and went straight to the hall of sovereignty. He calmly sat on his pillar of power and made to calm his nerves a bit before summoning anyone but Hal already knew he had returned and he knew better than sit around and wait to be called.
"Lord of the realm" He came to his aid immediately with a low bow and outstretched arms, showing how much respect and loyalty he had for his sovereignty.
"Hal…" Lucifer breathed. He was still too week to talk as he sat very relaxed and not wanting to move anytime soon.
"My lord…" he called, finally raising his head. "Do you feel alright my lord?" He asked.
'Does he feel alright? Lucifer began to wonder within him. He actually had no major injuries or serious complications, he only forcefully suppressed his demon form, holding back his innate intentions, and the repercussions was what troubled him right now, that was what he was actually suffering at the moment. So on the account of whether he was feeling right or not, he did not know how to answer Hal's question and looking at the amount of concern he held in his eyes, avoiding his question would only get him more troubled and Lucifer would not like to leave him perplexed for no just cause. He gave it a quick thought and finallly gave his answer.
"I am fine Hal no need to worry." His voice was very serene.
"Are you sure my lord?" Hal seemed to be unsatisfied with the answer he earlier received. He did not know why but he felt like Lucifer was hiding his problem from him and he did not like that, he cared about his lord and wanted to make sure he was absolutely fine. "Does Sheba trouble you my lord?" He finally decided to let out his own thoughts since his lord decided to keep his to himself.
Lucifer was not surprised when Hal mentioned Sheba. He was actually expecting it. Everyone of his counsel members already took notice of the changes in his character and mood since he started staying with Sheba, beginning from the time she was still a baby and to be honest, they were not comfortable with it at all.
If there was any race who comprehended very well, how much power Sheba held and how much chaos she was able to invoke, it was the demon race.
During the time of her past life, the witch race and demon race majorly had clashes and none of them chose to submit to the other. No matter how much power Lucifer believed he wielded, subduing the witches, with Sheba as their ruler was something that never happened, not minding how long it took him to prepare himself for the day he would conquere the witch race.
He began planning on dominating the witch race, even before Sheba joined the race and became their ruler. It was long before that, during the reign of Zephyrine. She was the ancient witch who gave birth to the witch race through genetic legacy. She birthed children, born with a genetic predisposition to magic, which from then passed down through bloodlines of powerful magical families, thereby giving rise to the witches race.
However, the story was never clear on how Sheba (a human) was able to possess latent magical abilities within her. What made everything more complicated was how she was able to develop those magically abilities well enough to earn the tittle of enchantress supreme by Zephyrine herself before her passing.
All other races were shocked and worried, believing that Sheba was never worthy of that position, she was not even a witch in the first place so how was she able to convince Zephyrine to proclaim her enchantress supreme even with the availability of other worthy candidates, who were Zephyrine's children, they settled for being the witches of the first order, or holding other strong positions in the witch race, leaving Sheba to rule. Not only them, the witch race entirely made no complaints whatsoever about it neither did they have any form of rebel to Sheba's rule. They seemed to acknowledge her not minding her roots or considering any forms of betrayal at all.
At that time, Lucifer believed that the witch race might end up in a civil war but not even a single quarrel was known to occur. He had planned to attack them if a civil war broke out but as that did not happen, he got to accept that if he really wanted to subdue the witch race, he had to fight them fair and square, leading to the various clashes they kept on having, coupled with their reluctance to surrender to the other's rule.
It was at that time that the demon race got to experience the intensity of Sheba's magic. It was combat after combat then, everywhere was literally a battle field and their skirmishes broke out anywhere and everywhere a demon came faced to face with a witch. Gathering from what they faced during that time, they drew to the conclusion that Sheba was no person for them to mess with with, not even their lord no matter how powerful he thought himself to be.
Lucifer understood this very well and tried his best so much to convince them that being with Sheba would not affect him or his rule in any negative way and he has been keeping to that promise ever since. He so much tried to hide so many things from his counsel about his relationship with Sheba so they don't get worried at all or think it in any way that him being with Sheba would have a negative impact on their race and it's might.
However, hearing Hal's question, he now realizes that maybe he never did a good job with keeping details of him and Sheba a secret. Nevertheless, he was not going to let him get worried or bothered about it.
"Hal…" he finally spoke, beginning with a very placid tone, "have you ever laid a human girl?"…
