Wednesday 19 May 1996.
Tonight marks the highly anticipated match between Hulk Hogan and Bret Hart—one of the biggest showdowns of the year. What makes this night even more electrifying is the buzz surrounding the mysterious "L1GM4" teased in WWF advertisements. Many fans believe it's a cryptic reference to ZAGE, and tonight, it seems that mystery is finally coming to life.
The WWF announcer, Howard Finkel, was visibly thrilled as he took his place at the commentary table, brimming with energy and anticipation. Standing beside him was none other than the iconic Vince McMahon, his presence adding gravitas to an already electric atmosphere. The two figures of the WWF world exchanged enthusiastic remarks about the magnitude of tonight's event—particularly the showdown between Hulk Hogan and Bret Hart, which had fans around the world glued to their screens.
"This is going to be one for the history books, Vince," Howard said, his voice rising with excitement. "The tension, the crowd, the mystery—it's all coming together tonight."
Vince nodded, grinning broadly. "No doubt about it, Howard. You can feel it in the air. Something big is about to happen, and not just in the ring. There's something else brewing."
Howard leaned in slightly, his expression shifting from excitement to curiosity. "Speaking of that, Vince—what's your take on this whole 'L1GM4' thing? The teasers, the cryptic promos… it's driving fans crazy."
Vince let out a soft chuckle, clearly just as puzzled. "That's the million-dollar question, Howard. Honestly, I've been asking around and nobody knows for sure. Not even me. All I know is, whatever L1GM4 stands for, it's going to be revealed tonight—and I've got a feeling it's going to blow the roof off this arena."
Howard nodded, intrigued. "Well, let's hope we get some answers. Because right now, L1GM4 is the biggest enigma in wrestling."
Then the match began as usual. The crowd was already fired up with anticipation, their cheers echoing across the arena as Hulk Hogan and Bret Hart faced off in the center of the ring. Right from the bell, the action was gripping—each man trading powerful blows, countering each other's moves with practiced precision. Hulk Hogan started to gain the upper hand, using his classic energy, brute strength, and charisma to rally the fans behind him. With every slam, every elbow drop, the energy in the crowd grew louder. It looked like Hogan was setting himself up for a triumphant win.
But just as Hulk Hogan was about to finish the match with a thunderous leg drop, everything took a sudden, chaotic turn. Bret Hart's tag team partner, Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart, came sprinting down the ramp and slid into the ring. The crowd gasped in shock, their cheers turning into boos. Neidhart, without hesitation, joined Bret Hart in a ruthless attack, helping him beat down Hogan in a two-on-one ambush. The beat down was fast and brutal—fists flying, stomps raining down, and Hogan trying to defend himself against the sudden double-team.
The announcer, Howard, leapt up from his seat, shouting with a mix of disbelief and excitement: "Whoa! It's dirty, but not unheard of!" Beside him, Vince McMahon leaned forward with a grin spreading across his face. "Hulk Hogan is in huge trouble! Who will help him?!" he exclaimed, feeding the frenzy of the moment.
The Hart duo didn't hold back. They took turns beating on Hogan, mocking him between each hit, dragging the match into an unfair spectacle. Hogan eventually managed to roll out of the ring, dazed and breathing heavily, desperate to regroup. Meanwhile, Bret and Neidhart stood tall in the ring, pointing at him and laughing, taunting him with exaggerated gestures. The crowd was on their feet, stunned by the sudden shift in control.
It was clear this match had just turned into something much more than anyone had expected.
The camera zoomed in on Hulk Hogan, his face intense with determination. He stormed over to the announcers' table and shouted, "Give me the damn phone!" Vince and Howard jumped in surprise, clearly taken off guard. Vince blinked, confused. "What phone!?" he asked, trying to make sense of Hogan's demand.
Without another word, Hogan grabbed one of the chairs at ringside, flipping it over to reveal a hidden compartment beneath the seat. Inside was a small, sleek phone with a glowing 'Z' on it. Without hesitation, Hogan snatched it up and quickly dialed. Holding the phone to his ear, he shouted into it, emphasizing each letter with fire in his voice: "L! 1! G! M! 4! L1GMA!"
Howard exclaimed, "WHOA! Who did you call, Hogan? And what is L1GM4?!" Just then, the entire arena went pitch black. A moment of eerie silence followed—then, suddenly, the screen showed a big ZAGE logo, then heavy metal music erupted from the speakers, screaming with intensity. It was "This Fire" by Killswitch Engage, a song from Zaboru's past life.
The scream started "YEAH!!!" . Onscreen, a giant glowing "Z" pulsed against a black backdrop, followed by a rapid montage of iconic video game scenes. In every shot, a figure appeared wearing a sleek black helmet with a bold Z emblazoned on the forehead. In Many Games that ZAGE created Super Mario Bros , Sonic , Metroid , Zelda , Ninja Gaiden and more. The music thundered on, syncing perfectly with the visuals, building tension and excitement.
"All I've ever wanted was destiny to be fulfilled
It is in my hands, I must not fail
I must not fail!"
Then a sudden gray fog burst across the stage in a dramatic explosion. Emerging from the haze was a striking figure—a man clad in a full black helmet marked with a bold 'Z' across the forehead. He wore a long, flowing gray coat that billowed as he stood still, striking a silent, powerful pose. The crowd held its breath. The music surged even louder as the mysterious figure took off in a sprint, charging full speed toward the ring with purpose and presence.
"Even through the darkest days
This fire burns, always
This fire burns, always"
Howard and Vince were on the edge of their seats, practically shouting over each other with excitement. "WHOA! That's Zabo-man!" Howard exclaimed, his voice cracking. "Is he one of the secret ZAGE characters?!" Vince leaned in, eyes wide. "I can't believe this—he's real! He's here!"
The crowd inside the arena exploded into cheers while those watching on television were left gasping in disbelief. Zabo-man didn't waste a second. With the speed of a seasoned warrior, he sprinted toward the ring, launched himself off the ground in a high arc, and landed cleanly inside the ropes with the grace of an acrobat. But he wasn't done. He dashed toward the ropes, used them as a springboard, and came flying back, launching into a spinning kick that slammed into the chests of both Bret Hart and Jim Neidhart. The impact sent both men stumbling backward, momentarily stunned by the sudden assault.
"WHOA!" Vince McMahon shouted, nearly standing from his seat. "This just became an official tag team match, folks! Hogan and Zabo-man are teaming up right now!"
Bret Hart, disoriented, rolled out of the ring and right into the path of Hulk Hogan, who met him head-on with fists flying. Meanwhile, back inside the ring, Zabo-man was unleashing a relentless assault on Jim Neidhart, keeping the momentum entirely in his team's favor.
Zabo-man leapt toward the edge of the ring with explosive energy, bouncing off the ropes and performing a high-flying somersault that drew gasps from the audience. As he landed, he delivered a powerful smack to Jim Neidhart's jaw, knocking him sideways. Neidhart tried to recover quickly and launched a counterattack with a heavy swing, but Zabo-man was one step ahead. He ducked under the strike with lightning-fast reflexes and locked Jim into a devastating DDT, slamming him headfirst into the mat with a loud thud that echoed across the arena.
Meanwhile, outside the ring, Hulk Hogan and Bret Hart were locked in a fierce brawl, exchanging punches, grapples, and throws like titans in a clash of stars. Hogan whipped Bret into the steel barricade, then lifted him and hurled him back into the ring like a man on a mission. As Bret scrambled to his feet, Hogan rolled in behind him.
With perfect coordination, Hulk Hogan and Zabo-man unleashed a devastating tag-team assault on their stunned opponents. Hogan delivered his signature big boot to Bret Hart, sending him crashing to the canvas. At the same time, Zabo-man performed a running knee strike on Neidhart, knocking the wind out of him. The crowd erupted as the two heroes stood tall.
They didn't let up—Hogan hoisted Bret into a body slam while Zabo-man climbed the ropes and leaped down with a crushing elbow drop, sealing the moment. Within moments, both Bret Hart and Jim Neidhart were laid out flat. The referee dropped down for the count—1, 2, 3! The bell rang, and the arena exploded with cheers as Zabo-man and Hulk Hogan claimed a monumental victory.
Then Hulk Hogan grabbed the mic, still breathing heavily from the fight but filled with adrenaline and awe. He looked at the masked man beside him and asked, "Thanks, man—but who are you?!" His voice echoed across the roaring arena.
Zabo-man stepped forward, the mic in hand, his presence calm and collected despite the chaos just moments ago. He brought the mic to his lips and said clearly, "My name is Zabo-man."
The crowd gasped collectively. Hulk Hogan took a step back, eyes wide, mouth slightly open. "You're real?! You're actually REAL?!" he shouted in disbelief.
Zabo-man nodded once, firmly. "I'm real," he said. "And I've been watching. After you call me with my code."
Hulk Hogan, still catching his breath, looked stunned and said, "Some shady dude once told me, 'If you ever find yourself in real trouble, check under the phone at the announcer's booth and say L1GM4.' I never actually thought it would work, let alone summon you!"
The camera panned across the stunned audience, people leaping from their seats, pointing, cheering, losing their minds. Hogan looked him up and down, still flabbergasted. "Brother... this is the wildest moment in WWF history. You're the mystery behind L1GM4? and what is L1GM4 anyway?"
Zabo-man said "L1GM4 is something I know of , anyway You Are Very Cool!" then suddenly the arena light died down then grey fog came again for a while then not for long the lights turned on again and Zabo-man was gone!. The arena became excited as chants of "ZABO-MAN! ZABO-MAN!" filled the stadium, growing louder with every passing second.
Howard then shouted too, "Damn! It's the real Zabo-man!"
Vince just grinned. "That's some good stuff. But how did he vanish?!"
Then the match ended. The crowd went nuts — they definitely knew that inside the Zabo-man helmet was Zaboru because of his voice.
