Chapter 1016 - Chapter 953 Zaboru Chill in his House.

Sunday 6 April 1999 Renkonan Household.

Zaboru was now relaxing comfortably in his home, enjoying a rare moment of peace alongside his wife and extended family. His father, mother, and his younger sister Sanika were all present, creating a warm, lively atmosphere in the Renkonan household. Even Sanika's boyfriend, Hidetaka Miyazaki, was around today. He had made a visit to the "Renkonan Hub," the dedicated developer room located inside the Renkonan home. Sanika had accompanied him there, both of them eager and focused, as they were nearing graduation in just a couple of months. With their final high school exams looming on the horizon, the young couple was also putting in extra effort to prepare for something exciting: the chance to apply for the ZAGE internship program. Their determination was evident—they weren't just thinking about the future, they were actively building it, one project at a time.

Zaboru chuckled softly as he looked over at Zenshin. At just a year and a half old, his son was already deeply immersed in a game of Super Mario Land on the ZGB. It was almost unbelievable—such a young child not only enjoying video games, but also showing a surprising level of skill for his age. His tiny fingers gripped the handheld console with remarkable coordination, and his eyes sparkled with focus and joy. Watching Zenshin play, Zaboru couldn't help but feel a deep sense of pride. There was something special about his boy. Maybe even extraordinary. A real genius, he thought.

It made Zaboru reflect on himself. Unlike his son, he had never truly considered himself a genius. All of his accomplishments—his insights, innovations, and leadership—were powered by the unique perks he received through reincarnation. Without them, he often believed he would have just been an average man. His strengths weren't natural talent; they were gifts of another life. Powers like Deep Memory Dive, which let him recall vast knowledge in perfect detail; Enlightenment Body, which enhanced his physical potential; Aura of Influence, which uplifted those around him; Emulator Mind, which let him have personal spaces in his mind—and several more.

But Zenshin… Zenshin might be something else entirely. There was no guarantee he would inherit any of Zaboru's reincarnation perks, and yet he already exhibited signs of brilliance. Zaboru wondered: Could it be that some of his abilities were passed down—not as supernatural perks, but as inherited traits? Was Zenshin simply gifted from birth? The thought made Zaboru smile even wider. Whether it was nature, nurture, or something mystical, his son was growing up to be someone amazing. And perhaps, just perhaps, Zenshin would one day surpass even him.

Zaboru still knew it wasn't healthy for Zenshin to be playing video games all day, no matter how talented his son already seemed at such a young age. So, with a warm smile, he decided to change the pace a little. "Zen-chan, let's go play in the backyard! Let's play some football!" he called out, clapping his hands with enthusiasm.

Zenshin's eyes lit up instantly, his tiny hands dropping the ZGB as he jumped to his feet with excitement. "Yay! Let's go, Papa!" he shouted, already bouncing with energy.

Zaboru laughed and looked toward Ayumi, who was lounging nearby. "Ayumi, come join us!" he said, to which she giggled and nodded happily. She rose slowly, still carrying her baby bump, but her face glowed with joy. Meanwhile, Zaboru's mother, Keiko, smiled brightly at the sight of the young family's energy and togetherness. She stepped outside as well, her voice echoing across the backyard as she cheered on her grandson. "Zenshin! Go get him! Show Papa your super kick!" she called, clapping her hands.

Seated not far away, under the shade of the porch, was Zanichi. As usual, he was calmly sipping his coffee, a folded newspaper in his lap. This was his signature week end routine he call it "The Zan way"—observing the liveliness around him with quiet contentment while taking in the simple joys of life. He raised his cup slightly as if to acknowledge the cheerful chaos happening in front of him, but didn't move from his seat. For him, this peaceful atmosphere was all he needed to recharge—a stark contrast to the high-stakes work he handled daily.

The backyard quickly filled with laughter and playful shouting. Zenshin kicked the ball with unsteady but determined steps while Zaboru gently chased after him. Ayumi clapped and cheered from the side, occasionally stepping in for a light pass. The golden sunlight bathed the yard, and for a moment, it felt like the world had slowed down just to let the Renkonan family enjoy a fleeting, perfect memory together.

After playing around for several joyful hours in the backyard, the Renkonan family finally made their way back into the house. The sky had turned gray, and light rain had begun to fall, dotting the windows with soft streaks and bringing a cool, soothing atmosphere into the home. The children's laughter faded into a cozy quiet as the sound of droplets tapping against the roof added a gentle rhythm to the evening.

Zenshin, worn out from all the running, kicking, and laughing, grew drowsy almost instantly. His little feet shuffled slower, and before long, he fell asleep in the warmth of his mother's arms. Ayumi, sensing his exhaustion, gently brought him over to the large family couch, cradling him as she sank into the cushions beside him. She smiled softly as his tiny chest rose and fell in peaceful slumber.

The rest of the family gathered nearby, the living room now glowing with warm lights and a welcoming sense of calm. The television was turned on, flickering with evening programming, and soon everyone found their spots—some sitting, others lounging, sharing snacks and light conversation. The once-lively backyard had now transformed into a serene indoor gathering, the rain outside making everything feel even more intimate and comforting. It was the kind of moment that reminded Zaboru of the beauty of simple days like this—full of laughter, love, and the quiet magic of being surrounded by those who mattered most.

Zaboru then leaned back into the couch, arms stretched out comfortably behind him, before glancing at the others with a thoughtful expression. "Guys," he began with a chuckle, "how about we all live in London for like two months? After Ayumi gives birth, of course." He reached over and gently patted Ayumi's round belly with affection, knowing full well she was due in just two weeks.

His eyes gleamed with a mix of excitement and responsibility as he continued, "Well, the ZAGE offices in London will be fully operational by the end of this month. I really want to be there to oversee things personally for the first couple of months. This is a big step for ZAGE in the European market, and having someone on the ground—especially me—will help establish the right culture and workflow early on."

He exhaled, leaning further into his seat. "Honestly, though, the flight from Japan to London is no joke. It takes around sixteen hours, and I don't want to be going back and forth constantly. It'd be much more efficient—and less tiring—if we just stayed there for a bit. Plus, it could be a refreshing change of scenery after the baby arrives. A new city, new air, and we'd be together. What do you think?"

He smiled warmly at his family, clearly hoping they would be open to the idea.

Ayumi sighed, tilting her head thoughtfully. "Two months, huh? Well, honestly, a change of scenery might be really nice... especially after the baby comes. But maybe instead of staying the full two months, we could come during the second month instead? That way, we'd still get the fresh air and new experience, but it wouldn't be too overwhelming. One month feels more manageable for me, especially with a newborn."

Keiko nodded with a warm smile, her voice gentle. "Yes, that makes sense. I wouldn't mind accompanying Ayumi at all. In fact, I think it'd be a good idea. A little family escape sounds lovely, and I can help her settle in and take care of the baby too."

Zanichi sighed heavily, rubbing his forehead. "No, I won't be able to go. There's just too much work piling up at ZAGE Tower right now, you know it son. It's better if I stay behind and hold things down here. If Ayumi and Keiko want to go, that's perfectly fine. But Sanika probably can't make it either—she's in full study mode right now. Her exams are coming up soon, and she's also preparing for the ZAGE internship assessment. That girl's got her hands full already."

Zaboru sighed and scratched the back of his head, clearly trying to find the best compromise. "Umm, okay then… I know this is kind of a tough situation, and I get that it's not ideal for everyone. Let me try to adjust things a bit," he said, his voice calm and understanding. Then, with a hopeful smile, he added, "Alright, how about this—I'll stay in London for just one month, maybe a few extra days if absolutely needed, and then I'll come back home. During that time, maybe you all could join me in London for just a short holiday? Like a week or so? That way we can still spend some time together abroad without it being too long or tiring."

He paused, looking around the room to see their reactions, then continued explaining his plan. "The truth is, I'll need to spend at least a full month there to really help guide and support Team Omni during their early development phase. They're new and enthusiastic, but they'll need proper direction, especially with such a major launch on the horizon. After that first month, I'll return home, and from there, I'll only fly back once each month to check on their progress. Plus, Risa Miller is already stationed there and doing a great job, so it's not like they'll be on their own. I just want to make sure the initial setup is smooth and aligned with our standards."

Keiko smiled warmly, her eyes glistening with pride. "Well, there's definitely some improvement. You're finally starting to prioritize your family over work, Zaboru. Hehehe… I'm so proud of you, my darling," she said affectionately. Without hesitation, she wrapped her arms around Zaboru in a tight, heartfelt hug. Zaboru chuckled at her enthusiasm and returned the embrace, appreciating the rare moment of peace and unity. His laughter was light, genuine—the kind that came only when surrounded by true comfort.

Zanichi, sitting nearby, let out a long, drawn-out sigh and shook his head slightly with mock disapproval. "Keiko, Zaboru is a man on a mission," he said with a smirk. "You shouldn't cling to him too much. He needs space to conquer the world."

Keiko turned her head dramatically toward Zanichi, puffing her cheeks in a playful pout. Then, without missing a beat, she stuck out her tongue at him, teasing him with a childish expression that made everyone burst into laughter. Even Zanichi cracked a smile as the whole family was swept up in the lighthearted moment. The room echoed with joy, the bonds between them stronger than ever.

After that, Zanichi quietly stood up from his seat and excused himself, muttering something about getting a quick workout in before dinner. With his usual calm demeanor, he made his way toward the Renkonan home gym, a familiar retreat for him whenever he needed to clear his mind or maintain his routine.

Zaboru, still lounging comfortably, glanced toward Ayumi, who sat peacefully with Zenshin resting on her lap. He shifted over beside her and gently rested his head on her shoulder. It was a gesture filled with affection and familiarity—Zaboru was always completely at ease when surrounded by his loved ones. With a soft smile, he placed his hand on Ayumi's rounded belly, caressing it tenderly.

"Hehehe... just a couple more weeks until our next little miracle is born," he murmured with a grin, his eyes glowing with warmth. "I wonder if she'll be as beautiful as you, Ayumi."

Ayumi's cheeks turned a deep shade of red, her voice flustered as she whispered back, "Z–Zabo... Mom is right there, you k...know?"

Keiko, who had been nearby polishing some photo frames on the shelf, overheard them and turned toward the couple with a mischievous glint in her eyes. "Ooh, young couple in love!" she teased, chuckling. "Hehehe~ I'll go join your dad in the gym and give you two some space. Have fun!" She waved dramatically and then disappeared toward the gym, humming cheerfully to herself.

Zaboru chuckled at his mother's playfulness, then turned back to Ayumi. Without warning, he slipped one arm behind her legs and the other behind her back, gently lifting her into his arms. Ayumi, still holding their sleepy toddler Zenshin, let out a surprised gasp.

"Zabo! I'm heavy... really," she said softly, her tone filled with concern but also affection.

Zaboru simply smiled, steady and confident, his arms securely wrapped around her. "You? Heavy? This is nothing," he said with a low chuckle in his voice. "Not nearly as heavy as your patience—putting up with a fool like me every single day. That's the real strength, my love." His voice softened toward the end, sincerity shining through his teasing tone. He gently adjusted his grip, making sure Ayumi and Zenshin were both comfortably cradled.

Ayumi's face turned crimson, and she buried it into Zaboru's chest, feeling both embarrassed and delighted. "B...baka," she whispered, her voice barely audible beneath her flustered giggle. Despite the teasing, her heart swelled with love. The way he always knew how to make her feel cherished, no matter how silly or unexpected the moment, was something she never got used to.

Zaboru grinned, brushing a kiss against her forehead. "I'll carry you both anytime," he murmured, then started walking slowly and carefully toward their bedroom, his steps steady and filled with affection. As they made their way down the hall, the cozy warmth of their home surrounded them, filled with the sound of rain gently tapping the windows.

He looked down at Ayumi, who was now softly humming a lullaby to Zenshin, who remained sound asleep in her arms. The peaceful scene made Zaboru feel a deep gratitude for the life they had built together—a life of love, of family, and of warmth.

When they finally reached their bedroom, Zaboru pushed the door open with his foot and stepped inside. The soft lighting, the faint scent of Ayumi's favorite lavender oil, and the inviting atmosphere made the room feel more like a sanctuary than just a place to sleep. He chuckled playfully and whispered, "Now, about that... 'Workout Session'..."

Ayumi giggled again, swatting his arm lightly. "Zabo~ we have a baby with us!" she reminded him.

He laughed. "Guess it'll just be stretching today, huh?"

Their laughter mingled with the calming rhythm of the rain outside, and for that moment, all was right in their little world.
