Fu Ling came out after a while and Wei Xinyi had already gathered his emotions.
Fu Ling handed him a glass of water and he took it drinking everything at once. He sighed deeply and Fu Ling who knew he had something to say, didn't urge him and just waited quietly.
Finally Wei Xinyi spoke up.
"He died of drug overdose. Now that I think back, my mother didn't seem to be surprised at all. She must've already known that day was coming."
Fu Ling squeezed Wei Xinyi's hand and then told him the doubts he had.
"I think it's a bit suspicious that he just happened to die of overdose. He had been doing this for years, I'm sure he was well aware of the stakes. There are only two instances which that would be possible. One, that he gradually lost himself to the drugs and two, his identity was discovered and he was murdered but it was framed as an overdose."
He looked directly at Wei Xinyi.
"Which do you think is more feasible?"
Wei Xinyi smiled wearily. He really wasn't sure.
