Mu Ying looked at his cowardly appearance and felt disgusted.
"Say it! So you can feel righteous when you walk out of here and tell the world you were another of Mu Ying's victims."
Her voice dropped to a whisper, trembling but cutting deep. "You were never my victim. You were my partner."
He finally looked up, his composure cracking. "And what did that partnership cost me? My company is gone. My name is poison. Do you even know what that feels like?"
"Yes." Her voice broke. "Because I've lost everything too. But at least I'm not pretending I'm innocent."
She suddenly felt pathetic.
She had loved him, yes. She killed his wife, yes. But she wasn't trying to play victim. It was not her responsibility to care about the other woman.
She thought to herself that if even her husband didn't care, then who was she to bother. She thought his actions then we're because he loved her as well but now she was clearly. He was just a selfish thing who lacked a heart.
