Chapter 27 - Chapter 27: Whispers of the Heart

Iras woke up to an empty bed, the silk sheets tangled around her legs. A pang of nervousness shot through her as she scrambled to her feet, calling out Hylos's name. The palace bedroom was eerily quiet, the only sound the soft rustle of the desert breeze outside.

She rushed to the living room, her heart racing with every step. As she burst through the door, she collided with a warm, solid chest. Iras's eyes flew up to meet Hylos's, her face flushing with surprise.

Hylos's golden eyes sparkled with amusement, his full lips curving into a gentle smile. "Why do I love you?" he whispered, his voice low and husky.

Iras's breath caught, her mind racing to process the words. She had meant to ask why Hylos wasn't beside her, but his question left her speechless.

Hylos's smile deepened, his eyes cr crling at the corners. "You don't have to answer, my love," he said, his voice dripping with tenderness. "I know why. It's because you see me, truly see me, in a way no one else ever has."

Iras's heart skipped a beat as Hylos's arms wrapped around her, pulling her close. She melted into his embrace, her doubts and fears dissolving in the warmth of his gaze.

"You're the reason I breathe, Iras," Hylos whispered, his lips brushing against her ear. "The reason I live."

As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting the palace in a golden glow, Iras knew she would never let Hylos go. Their love was a flame that would burn bright, illuminating the path to a future filled with hope, passion, and the promise of forever.

*Queen Ashira's Fury*

The desert sands trembled beneath Queen Ashira's feet as she stormed through the Valley of Kings, her dark robes billowing behind her. Her eyes blazed with fury, her voice echoing off the ancient tombs.

"Find him! Find the king!" she shrieked, her men scrying in every direction. "Search the Pyramids of Giza, the temples, the markets! Hylos is mine, and no one will take him from me!"

Her guards scattered, their sandaled feet pounding the ground as they rushed to obey her command. Ashira's grip on reality was frowning, her obsession with Hylos consuming her.

"Iras how dare you take away hylos" she muttered to herself, her eyes gleaming with madness. "He will be mine, and together we will rule the Valley of Kings."

As her men returned, shaking their heads, Ashira's rage boiled over. She raised her hands, and a fierce gust of wind swept through the Valley, sending sand and debris flying.

"Hylos is mine!" she screamed, her voice lost in the whirlwind. "No one else will own him but me!"

*Ashira's Triumph*

A sly smile spread across Ashira's face as the messenger delivered the news. "Hylos is in the palace of Rabik, the Prince of Pyramids of Giza?" she repeated, her voice dripping with satisfaction.

She waved her hand, dismissing the messenger. "Prepare my chariot. I'm going to Giza."

With a spring in her step, Ashira set off for the Pyramids of Giza, her heart racing with anticipation. She would finally have Hylos, and nothing would stand in her way.

As she arrived at the palace, Ashira's eyes scanned the surroundings, searching for any sign of Hylos. She was greeted by Prince Rabik himself, his expression unreadable.

"Ah, Queen Ashira," he said, his voice smooth as silk. "What brings you to my humble abode?"

Ashira's smile never wickered. "I'm here for Hylos. I know he's here, and I'm taking him back to the Valley of Kings."

Rabik's expression didn't change, but his eyes flickered to something behind Ashira. She turned to see Hylos, standing in the doorway, his golden eyes fixed on her.

"Ashira," he said, his voice firm. "What are you doing here my Queen."

Ashira's smile grew wider. "I'm here to bring you back , Hylos. You're coming with me."

But Hylos didn't move, his eyes never leaving Ashira's face. I will not coming with you "I think you'll find I'm not as easy to claim as you think, Ashira."

*Ashira's Descent into Madness*

Ashira's face twisted with rage as Hylos declared his intention to leave with Iras. "You're mine, Hylos!" she screamed, her voice echoing through the palace halls. "You're the king of the Valley of Kings, and you'll do as I say!"

Hylos's eyes flashed with defiance. "I don't want to be king anymore," he said, his voice firm. "And I'm going with Iras."

Ashira's laughter was like a crack of thunder. "You have no shame, you're mine!" She raised her hand, and her men moved in, grabbing Hylos and tying him up.

Hylos struggled, but he was weak, and Ashira's men overpowered him. Rabik tried to intervene, but it was too late. Hylos was dragged away, shouting, "Let me go! I don't want you, why can't you understand? Are you crazy?"

Ashira's laughter grew louder, her eyes gleaming with madness. "Yes, I'm crazy," she said, her voice dripping with venom. "Because of you, Hylos. Because of you."

*Iras's Fury and Despair*

Iras stormed into the palace, her eyes scanning the room for Hylos. Instead, she found Rabik, his face bruised and battered, his eyes filled with sorrow.

"What happened?" Iras demanded, her voice sharp as a knife. "Where is Hylos?"

Rabik looked up at her, his expression twisted in regret. "Iras... sorry," he stammered. "They couldn't be stopped."

Iras's face turned red with anger as she grasped the situation. "Ashira kidnapped him," she growled, her voice low and menacing. "Where is he?"

Rabik shook his head, his eyes dropping in shame. "I tried to stop them, but..."

Iras didn't wait for him to finish. She turned on her heel, her footsteps echoing through the palace as she stormed out, determination etched on her face.

"Hylos, I'm coming for you," she whispered, her voice barely audible over the pounding of her heart. "I'll tear the Valley apart to find you."

As she disappeared into the night, Rabik watched, his expression a mix of guilt and admiration. He whispered to himself, "I'm sorry, Iras. I'm sorry, Hylos."*Ashira's Obsession*

Hylos's eyes blinked open, adjusting to the dim light in the chamber. He was met with Ashira's twisted smile, her eyes gleaming with a manic intensity.

"Hello, dear my king," she purred, her voice dripping with sarcasm. She removed the cover from Hylos's face, and he blinked away the sudden brightness.

Ashira's face was inches from his, her breath hot against his skin. "I miss you so much, Hylos," she whispered. "Why don't you like me?"

Hylos's lip curled in distaste. "How can I like you?" he spat, his voice venomous. "You're crazy, Ashira. You're obsessed with me, and it's disgusting."

Ashira's smile faltered, her eyes narrowing. "You're mine, Hylos," she growled, her voice low and menacing. "You'll learn to love me, whether you like it or not."

Hylos laughed, the sound harsh and mocking. "You'll never make me love you, Ashira. I'm in love with Iras, and nothing you do will ever change that."

Ashira's face twisted with rage, her hand flying up to strike Hylos across the face. He turned his head, his eyes flashing with defiance.

"You'll pay for that," she hissed, her voice trembling with fury. "You'll pay for rejecting me."

Ashira's lips crashed against Hylos's, her kiss desperate and bruising. He struggled against his restraints, his body tense with revulsion. The drink she had given him was taking effect, his senses swimming.

He tried to pull away, but Ashira's grip was like a vice. She was too strong, too determined. Hylos's anger flared, and he bit down on her lip, tasting blood.

Ashira shrieked, her eyes flashing with pain and rage. She slapped him, her handprint blooming on his cheek.

"You bastard!" she screamed, her voice echoing off the chamber walls. "You'll pay for that!"

As she stepped back, Hylos's vision began to blur. The medicine was kicking in, his body responding to the stimulation. He felt a wave of heat wash over him, his skin flushing with desire.

"No," he growled, his voice low and rough. "No, no, no."

Ashira's laughter was like a cold splash of water. "You're mine now, Hylos," she whispered, her voice dripping with triumph. "You'll do whatever I say."

Hylos's eyes locked onto hers, his gaze burning with fury. "I'll never be yours," he spat, his voice barely audible.
