Caesar pulled Ivanna close, his eyes never leaving Ethan's face, as he backed slowly towards the staircase entrance.
Ivanna stumbled slightly, still in shock, but Caesar's grip held her upright.
Once they reached the doorway, Caesar turned abruptly, pulling Ivanna into the empty hallway behind him.
The doors creaked shut behind them, muffling Ethan's barely audible, venomous whisper:
"This... isn't... over."
Caesar's gaze snapped down to Ivanna's pale face, his expression softening ever so slightly:
"Are you okay?"
Ivanna nodded and her hands moved swiftly as she pulled out her notebook and pen from her bag, her eyes locking onto Caesar's intense gaze.
She wrote in bold letters:
"What were you doing here?"
Caesar's expression turned grim as he gently turned Ivanna around, his hands on her shoulders.
His fingers traced down her arms, then back up to her neck, checking for any visible injuries.
His gritted teeth and clenched jaw revealed his restrained fury.
