Although the two different approaches to utilize mental energy emphasize different aspects at each stage, overall, there is no significant difference in combat strength between them.
The biggest difference between knights and mages lies in magic being more systematic and broadly applicable, while combat techniques mostly specialize in fighting, have freer casting methods, and offer greater operational flexibility.
