When I finally entered my room, I walked straight towards my closet. Inside, I glanced at the hundreds of different dresses that I've accumulated over the course of the year.
My mother was always a stickler about never wearing anything that was outdated, unless it was a vintage, collector's piece. Every year, the maids would sort through and remove all of the previous year's fashion to make room for the current trends.
There were so many options-- dresses that I've never worn before-- that it made my head spin. I repeated my mother's instructions like a mantra inside my head.
Knee length, dark colored, semi-formal...
There were many dresses that fit that criteria, but I managed to thin down the options so that there were only two that I had to choose between.
