Feng Yizhou adjusted the strap of his pack and slung his weapon across his shoulder. "It'll take me at least two to three days on foot to reach the East.." he said, voice steady. "That zone is crawling with things unlike what we've faced before, zombies, mutants… new breeds we don't even understand yet."
His jaw tightened, the thought gnawing at him. "Why would Lingquan's trace appear there of all places? It doesn't make sense." His gaze flicked briefly to Qingran, the faintest shadow of hesitation flashing in his eyes. "I could very well be walking into death."
He clenched his fists, inhaling deeply. But then, he thought of Qingran, her smile, her stubborn courage, the way she always put others first. That image lit a fire in his chest, burning away the fear.
"…But if there's even a chance to bring her back, I'll risk everything."
He gave Haoyu and Sun Zi Mo one final look, a silent order and farewell rolled into one, before stepping out and closing the door behind him.
