Chapter 9 - First Class [II]

"What?" Miche was surprised. He wasn't expecting the behavior that Natalia would show him. But before he could say something, Natalia seemed to have snapped out of her trance and was surprised for some reason.

"Oh! Pardon me, did I say something weird just now?" Natalia asked, seemingly confused.

"Uh...no. No, not really," Miche quickly shakes his head, denying what just happened. For some reason, he felt a bit of goosebumps from Natalia just now. Was he imagining things or it was what he have seen from her was something that Natalia has been suppressing and just came out just now?

"So, what Mythia did you tame by the way?" Natalia asked.

"A Wild Dog. I know they are pretty weak and known as useless Mythia, but I tamed mine anyway. It was injured when I saw him that day. And due to his injuries, the taming process was easy for me."

"A Wild Dog huh? They are kinda cute on their own way, like a regular dog, minus the abilities they can use to fight back. And I don't really believe that the Wild Dogs are totally useless in a sense. Its just that no one has managed to awaken its full potential and make use of it," Natalia said.

Setanta stood up and seems to have understood what Natalia have said and approached her. He sniffed her a bit before he started to rub his head to her leg.

"I think he likes you," Miche said as he Setanta seems to be comfortable with Natalia's presence.

"What's his name?"

"Setanta."

"So you named him after the childhood name of the Hound of Culann?"

"Yeah. I want to train him as a Mythia that will be able to break through its prejudice of being a weak Mythia. With proper care and training, they will surely be stronger, enough to even compete with the other Mythia."

Natalia smiled. "True. I believe in that mindset. There is no weak Mythia. They only turned out to be weak due to how they are raised by their owner, in short, their training made them weaker."

She grab the slingbag she was carrying and pulled out a few pills and bottles of medicine and put it on the table.

"By the way, my family sent me pills for my Mythia to use for training so the pills that were handed out by the academy has become useless to me. I think you can benefit on this more than me. Setanta can get a good boost from this alone and it would allow him to be able to compete with other Mythia."

"What? Are you sure about that? Shouldn't you keep this for yourself and have your Mythia get more boost?" Miche frowned.

"If only the medicine that my family sent would work compatible with the medicine provided by the Academy but no, the former was much stronger that the effects would not even show if I use them together, rendering the latter medicines and pills useless in the process."

"Then, how much is this?" Miche asked, scrambling to get his wallet.

"No need to pay me. Treat it as something of a goodwill from me and as a gift from a friend. I didn't buy this with money so why would I sell this? Feel free to use it for Setanta."

Miche smiled. "Thanks a lot. This would be really helpful for Setanta."

"Good to know. Anyways, I should be going. I just dropped by to give these to you. Best of luck with you, Miche. You too, Setanta. See you in class!"

Afterwards, Natalia left, allowing Miche to sigh in relief. Natalia is a kind woman. However, he can easily tell that there is some dangerous air coming from her that he couldn't explain. That was very apparent earlier and Miche was not expecting that. He just hopes that his fears were nothing.

Closing the door, Miche returns and grab the medicines on the table as he would be checking each of them to see what they can do for a Mythia. However, as soon as he did, the voice he heard from before rings inside his head.

"[Compatible owned medicine detected. For better stat distribution, these medicine can be converted into stat points equivalent to their effectiveness. Would you like to convert?]"

Miche was surprised. "That also works?"

He thought that it only gives daily stat points every day, but it seems to also have other ways to get stat points.

Instead of immediately converting them, Miche reads through each of the effects of the medicine. Each of the medicine can increase the power of the Mythia who takes the medicine and grow strong by digesting the medicine. Depending on how it was digested, it can be quite a good boost or it can just raise one stat and that's it.

In short, it depends on luck, condition of the Mythia and many other factors. There is no actual fixed numbers that can be taken from it as they can boost close to nothing, or boost a lot that one can be lucky in the process.

Currently, he got three bottles of medicine, and three pills. Each of them boosts that stats of a Mythia. Since he already have six of them, if he uses it as is and let Setanta consume them directly, he is guaranteed 6 stat points. As for the boosts, it all depends on luck.

"Looks like very bad investment of money with only that much growth huh? Alright, let's see how much stats it can be converted with. Approved."

In a split second, all the contents of the medicine that he was holding dried up. And the pills only left behind their wrappers without the medicine themselves.

"[Converting medicines. Please wait for five minutes.]"

"So there is a waiting time," Miche glance at all the bottles in his hands and even the wrappers left behind. "And here I thought it would also take the bottles and wrapper along."

Miche waited for the mixing process to finish and soon enough, the voice rings on his head once more.

"[Mixing complete. You have received 60 Stat points. Medicine conversion will now enter cooldown for 6 days and 23 hours.]

"60?! That's a lot!" Miche was surprised. He thought it would be just a little bit like 10 or less but 60 was a bit too much. He also noticed the cooldown time and he can understand why now. Just 6 different medicines alreadt yielded 60 stat points in one go.

"Looks like each medicine yield 10 points per medicine. That's a good thing to note for," Miche said to himself as he mentally noted the information.

With the new stat points received, he has 61 points ready for distribution now. Considering that Setanta needed a lot of stat points just to evolve into a Shadow Dog. He decided to spend the 60 stat points right away.

He remembered that to evolve Setanta to a Shadow Dog, he needed to have 100 attack, 100 agility and 50 luck. At first, he wanted to spread the stats evenly to the three, but then it would suddenly feel to suspicious that Setanta would suddenly be too strong immediately. That's when he saw the luck stat.

Setanta only has a measly 5 points on his luck. Based on the stat descriptions he have seen on the official information, Luck is a stat that influences the critical procs of a Mythia and their ability to be able to find something all of a sudden for random reasons. The higher that stat is, the more likely the crit attacks proc and the more likely Setanta would find something randomly. Its not a very high priority stat, but this stat is also the easiest to hit the goal first compared to the other two stats and this stat is the only stat that has less noticeable change for Setanta.

After thinking for a bit, he decided to spend 45 stat points to the Luck Stat, hitting the stat to the required 50 stat points for Shadow Hound.

The remaining 15 stat points was distributed to the Attack and Agility with 10 to the Attack stat and 5 to the Agility.

When he confirmed the changes, his phone opens a new window, revealing Setanta to have gained two additional skills.

"Shadow Leap and Critical Fury?"

He read before that skills can only be learned by Mythia the moment they level up, it seems that wasn't entirely the case as Setanta learned two skills while he is still level 1, likely due to the stat changes Setanta received.

"Looks like I discovered something that wasn't supposed to be learned by anyone just yet."

This could potentially shake things up in the Mythia community but he plans to keep it a secret for now. Perhaps he can share this knowledge to a few trusted people but he doesn't plan to reveal it outright. Considering that he learned it just now, why not capitalize on this new knowledge instead?
