Chapter 429 - 429 Head-On Clash With the Goddess of Death!

Just as Hela was about to declare her victory after effortlessly taking down the two Asgardian princes, the space behind her suddenly trembled violently.

It sent a chill down the spine of the battle-hardened Goddess of Death—something she hadn't felt in centuries.

"Spatial tear?!"

She spun around—only to be greeted by a massive wolf's head flying straight at her.

'THUD!'

Fenrir's severed head arced through the air, trailing a spray of dark blood before crashing to the ground in front of her.

"RUA~"

Fenrir—Asgard's fiercest, most powerful beast, and Hela's most loyal companion—now lay dead, tongue lolling, eyes glazed over.

Just like that… he was gone.

"Hmm. What a savage dog," came a clear, elegant voice from the far end of the Rainbow Bridge.

Kagura walked forward, her long silver hair fluttering in the wind.

"He only knew how to bite, completely unreasonable. Oh, and Fenrir wasn't even alive, was he? More like a reanimated corpse—a mindless war machine."

Hela narrowed her eyes, watching the silver-haired girl approach without a scratch.

"Hoh? Not bad. Looks like you're stronger than your two useless brothers."

"Ahaha, thanks for the compliment, Hela." Kagura brushed her hair aside with a smile.

"And if you'd like to surrender now, that would save us both a lot of trouble."

"Don't be ridiculous. Better not get your hopes up." Hela shrugged. "I'm not one of those Frenchmen from your Earth, surrendering like it's written into their DNA."

Apparently, the tale of a certain French sorcerer who surrendered the moment the Dark Dimension invaded had spread across the multiverse.

And thanks to that, France had inadvertently become the most famous country on Earth in cosmic circles.

"Well, I suppose that's too bad then," Kagura replied with a casual stretch of her arms.

Her energy core lit up once more, causing the air around her to tremble.

"I'm coming."

"Good! Come, my dear little sister. Let's see if you can uphold the promise we made!"

At that, dozens of magical blades unfurled from behind Hela's back like enormous black wings.

Her presence was now more imposing than ever—she was clearly getting serious.

Yet this time, Kagura didn't dash forward with her usual acceleration burst.

She remained perfectly still, almost like she was deep in thought.

"What's wrong, Kagura?" Hela cocked her head, confused.

"Not coming at me? I thought you'd built up enough courage and strength after all this time. Or was that earlier strike just a fluke?"

"It wasn't," Kagura replied calmly. Her golden eyes gleamed with a sudden flash of blue.

"But you might want to look up."

"—What?!" Hela's pupils shrank. "Guh!"

The space above her shuddered violently as a spatial rift opened—cutting straight down from the sky like a divine guillotine.

If she didn't move, she would be sliced clean in half.

[Spatial Control: Sever!]

Attacks that manipulate space itself are immune to all conventional forms of defense.

Even someone as powerful as Hela couldn't block a strike that cleaved through space itself.

But even in shock, Hela's battle instincts were razor-sharp. She launched herself backward in a swift leap, barely dodging the rift.

'CRACK!'

Another deep fissure split across the Rainbow Bridge, shimmering with residual light.

"Well now, that's interesting," Hela said, eyeing the still-unmoving Kagura.

"A spatial-rending technique, huh? You've grown, little sister. But don't think that having an Infinity Stone means you can defeat me."

"Oh? Let's find out then." Kagura raised her hand, and her eyes lit up again with that same azure brilliance.

In an instant, countless space fissures formed, like blades weaving through the air—surging toward Hela in a deadly wave.

The power of the Space Stone burned like a roaring flame, turning the surrounding area into a living weapon under Kagura's control.

But Hela, with almost effortless grace, dodged every single one.

Her movements were too precise, too fast. None of the spatial slashes landed a hit.

"You don't really think that just because mortals can't see those attacks, they'll work on me, do you?" she taunted.

It was clear now—Hela also possessed complete spatial awareness.

Still, if a simple barrage of space attacks was all it took to beat her, then the title "Goddess of Death" would be nothing more than an exaggeration.

Kagura took a step forward.

'WMMM—'

In that moment, a glint of red flickered through her eyes—and she vanished.

"Hm?" Hela's brow furrowed, her grip tightening around her blades.

[Pseudo Armament: Godslayer Blade—Surtr!]

Suddenly, a curtain of flames erupted behind her.

From within the inferno, a searing blade pierced the wall of fire—swinging straight at her neck in a flash of divine heat.

'CLANG!'

At the very last second, Hela summoned her divine power and drew a dark blade from the void, blocking Kagura's surprise attack just centimeters from her skin.

"Heh… interesting," Hela smirked. "But this sword can no longer hurt me."

'CLANG—!'

With a swift motion, she turned and swung her blade, cleaving the Divinefall Sword clean in two.

"The me who stands here in Asgard is on a completely different level than that weak imitation on Earth!"

"I know."

Kagura showed no sign of shock or surprise. Instead, she vanished on the spot like a fleeting illusion.

'BZZZZT—'

A blood-red butterfly drifted past Hela's face, filling the Goddess of Death with a sudden sense of unease.

How do you defeat Hela?

How do you bring down a goddess who can't be wounded, can't be killed, and has limitless regenerative power?

The answer was simple—complete erasure.

Even if Hela possessed unmatched healing across the cosmos, Kagura had a way to kill her for good.

That method was the Heartless Blade, a weapon capable of erasing matter itself from existence.

But to even graze Hela with its edge—to prove that she could be truly destroyed—Kagura would first need to overwhelm her in battle with sheer, overwhelming force… and then spare her life in the final blow, fulfilling her promise of "defeating Hela."

And when it came to overwhelming force… there was only one path—

Absolute firepower.

[Time Control: Time Stop]

[The World!]

A green glow burst out, freezing everything in place.

[Pseudo Ultimate Skill: Blizzard Waltz!]

Tens of thousands of ice blades formed in midair. Locked in overlapping layers by the frozen timestream, their attacks merged into one.

The time-stopping ability allowed multiple techniques to be unleashed simultaneously. Within this sealed space called The World, Kagura began her deadly dance.

Blazing flames roared into the skies and swept across the earth, flowing toward Hela in a searing tide of destruction.

But wait—it wasn't over yet!

The blazing greatsword vanished, and Kagura summoned yet another weapon.

A golden cross rose upon the Rainbow Bridge.

Thunder cracked, wind howled, and chaos surged.

With a CLANG, the cross split open, firing dozens of lightning-charged spears of light—ripping through the sky, then converging once more under overwhelming gravitational force, crashing straight toward Hela.

[And then—time resumed.]

"Tch!"

Snapping back to her senses, Hela clicked her tongue. "You damned little brat!"

In the very next moment, ice, fire, and lightning struck her all at once.

'BOOOOM—!!!'

The shockwave exploded outward in a blinding flash.

Three elements merged together in a storm of relentless destruction, tearing the Rainbow Bridge to shreds and swallowing the Goddess of Death whole.

Her blade shattered.

Her armor crumbled.

It was a saturation attack so powerful it could destroy not just matter, but space itself.

Even Hela couldn't completely resist it.

Her once-impenetrable defense was breached, and for the first time, the mighty death goddess was thrown into disarray.

"You think… this is enough to defeat me?! Pathetic! You're not even close!"

Through the storm, Hela's furious voice rang out.

"Oh, my dear little sister… do you really think this can bring me down? Naïve. So very naïve. At best, you've damaged my body. Don't get cocky!"

"I never said I'd won, Hela… but even a moment of carelessness can decide everything."

At that exact moment—when Hela, caught in rage and focused on healing, left a fatal opening—Kagura appeared beside her like a phantom.

In one fluid motion, she drew her blade.

Held in her hand was the ultimate divine artifact of the cosmos—the Heartless Blade.

A thin arc of silver light traced through the air, as if to slice apart heaven and earth itself.

"Heartless Blade—First Form: Sever All Things."
