Chapter 12 - Lights Out, Chaos On

It was a normal, boring Monday morning. We were all sitting around in the schoolyard during break, trying to ignore the soul-crushing weight of the school day ahead. Crimson was half-asleep, MJ was reading a manga upside down, and Leon was spinning a pen on his finger like he was training for the pen Olympics.

That's when Kazuki leaned in, a sly grin on his face, and said the words that would go down in history:

"I got an EMP."

We all froze.

"Wait," Kai said, squinting at him, "like… an actual EMP?"

Kazuki pulled a suspicious-looking device from his backpack. "Yup. I've been saving it for a special occasion. And I know exactly what to do with it."

Crimson immediately stood up. "Oh hell yeah! You gonna use that on the school?"

"Exactly," Kazuki replied. "We cancel the school day—our way."

MJ looked up from his manga, confused. "Wait, isn't that, like… super illegal?"

"Yes," Kazuki said.

"Perfect," Crimson grinned.

Without hesitation, we snuck to the back of the school, where the main power lines fed into the building. Kazuki, with the calm confidence of someone who absolutely shouldn't be trusted with electronics, flipped the switch.

BZZZAP!

The EMP discharged, and immediately we heard the thud of machines powering down, followed by the confused screams of hundreds of students and teachers.

"WE DID IT!" Crimson screamed, running into the now pitch-black hallways.

Alarms were dead. Lights—gone. Cameras? Out. Phones? Bricked. The entire school was plunged into chaos.

"Operation: Shadow Pranks is a go!" Leon shouted.

The next hour was absolute insanity.

Prank 1: Classroom Mayhem

We broke into the math class, found the teacher's stash of markers, and drew giant anime eyes on the whiteboard along with "MJ IS THE MAIN CHARACTER NOW."

Crimson took it a step further—he snuck behind the desk and when the teacher came in with a flashlight, Crimson jumped up screaming, "BOO! GIVE ME ALL YOUR POP QUIZZES!"

The teacher dropped the flashlight and ran out yelling, "I QUIT!"

Prank 2: The Locker Switcheroo

We went to the lockers, picked random ones, and switched all their contents. Someone opened their locker to find shoes full of jello. Another found 500 spoons. We don't even know where they came from.

Kai took it to another level and locked Principal Hensley's office from the outside with zip ties, then stuck a sticky note on it saying: "Under Construction (Indefinitely)."

Prank 3: The Cafeteria Catastrophe

We entered the dark cafeteria. Crimson said, "Time for mystery meat to become more mysterious."

He poured 10 cans of whipped cream into the mashed potatoes, then stuck a rubber duck in the middle of it.

Leon was in charge of the milk cartons. He replaced them all with pickle juice.

MJ, even though he was against it at first, joined in and mixed salt and sugar into one big container labeled "Sweet Powder."

Prank 4: Bathroom Bandits

Crimson and Leon went into the boy's bathroom and covered every single toilet seat in cling film. Then, they filled one stall with balloons—floor to ceiling.

Kai came in, saw the chaos, and just whispered, "What have we become?"

Kazuki walked in, holding a walkie-talkie. "Mission status update: The janitor just fell on a mop. We are clear to move to Phase 4."

Prank 5: PA System Hijack

Somehow, even with the power out, Kazuki managed to hook a battery to the PA system.

He clicked the mic and in the most serious voice said:

"Attention students: School is now a no-rules zone. Run. Scream. Yeet your backpacks. Long live the chaos."

We heard cheers echo from the hallways.

Final Chaos: The Great Exit

With the school in complete meltdown mode, students running around like it was Black Friday, we made our final exit.

Crimson yelled, "TO THE WINDOW!" and dove out an open one onto the grass. The rest of us followed (except MJ, who used the door like a normal person).

We stood outside, watching as teachers scrambled around, flashlights in hand, trying to restore order to the school.

"Well," Leon said, brushing grass off his shirt, "we've officially committed school-wide terrorism."

"Totally worth it," Crimson said.

MJ, oddly proud, added, "I even poured glitter in the printer room."

Kazuki patted the EMP device. "Worth every penny."

We walked off like movie heroes, slow-motion and all, the school in shambles behind us.

And from that day forward, nobody at school would ever forget the day the lights went out… and the chaos lit up.
