Chapter 2 - New Life

What the hell is going on right now...? I'm alive? And a baby again?

The boy glanced around the spacious room, realizing it wasn't a hospital, but a lavish bedroom. The people around him wore robes and armor—clothing that felt more at home in a fantasy novel than the modern world.

A tall man leaned in close, pulling funny faces. He had long, crimson-red hair and eyes that gleamed like rubies.

"Doesn't seem like he's enjoying it," the man chuckled.

More non-human women entered the room, their ears and tails like those of cats or wolves. They handled him gently, wrapping him in soft baby clothes.

This isn't Earth... That explains the language, the people... the races.

Once dressed, they laid him beside the beautiful woman who had held him earlier. Her dark hair flowed like silk, and her violet eyes sparkled even in exhaustion.

"Goodnight, Shiebe," she whispered with a smile.

He didn't understand the words—but somehow, he knew what she meant.

I'm... tired too... I just woke up, and I'm already falling asleep again...

Darkness took him once more.

Three Years Later

Now three years old, Shiebe Zackaria had quickly adapted to his new life. Thanks to his old memories, he picked up the local language faster than anyone expected.

Of course, it didn't come without its… setbacks.

One afternoon, while practicing phrases in front of a mirror, Shiebe tried to say, "I am the son of royalty."But what came out was:"I am the son of rotten cheese."

A nearby maid dropped her tray trying not to laugh."Young master, did you just declare yourself... dairy?"

Shiebe blinked. "Wait... what did I say?"

From that day forward, at least three maids secretly referred to him as 'Prince Parmesan.' He has yet to figure out why.

His father, Xeno, was a free spirit—laid-back, cheerful—but when duty called, he became a fierce and respected leader. He'd often regale Shiebe with tales of wild adventures with his wife.

His mother, Liliana, was strong-willed, brilliant, and kind. She helped nurture Shiebe's ever-curious mind.

They lived in a bustling medieval-style town called Ruina, filled with merchants, knights, and wandering bards.

Liliana: "Shiebe! Dinner's ready!"

Shiebe: "Coming, Mom!"

As Shiebe made his way downstairs, he passed by one of the side rooms... and paused.

What is that...?

A cold chill ran down his spine. The door ahead seemed to exude a dark presence—one he couldn't explain. His feet crept closer...

But voices down the hall pulled him back.

???: "Make sure he never finds out..."

???: "Huh? Is that the young master?"

Two maids spotted him and exchanged glances.

He nodded politely and walked past them. As he glanced back, he saw them disappear into the darkened room.

What's in there...?

At dinner, Shiebe joined his mother and the housemaids. The long table was filled with delicious food—many dishes oddly familiar to those from his previous life.

Liliana: "Eat as much as you want, honey."

Shiebe: "Thanks, Mom."

After eating, Shiebe made his way to the library. One thought had haunted him ever since his reincarnation:

If this is a fantasy world... then surely there's magic.

He scanned the shelves.

Shiebe: "Let's see… Not this one… No, not that one either... Huh?"

He pulled a book the size of a manga from the shelf.

"The Power of Syreums."

Shiebe: "Syreums...? Is that what they call magic here?"

He flipped it open and read:

Syreums are mystical forces that power daily life in this world. They manifest in the body between ages 3–7 (see pg. 10 for age equivalents between races). Syreums range from elemental powers like fire, water, and ice, to rarer types like time and gravity manipulation.

Some Syreums are universal and can be learned—these include basic healing and support spells. Although most are unique to the individual.

Syreums are ranked by strength: D-tier, C-tier, B-tier, A-tier, S-tier, National, and World Class.

To unlock a Syreum, one must visualize their blood flowing as energy. When the sensation is right, they must externalize that energy. This process is known as Zero Transmission.

Of all Syreums, three stand apart: X, Y, and Z. Known as the Deadly Trio, these powers hold immense potential—but often destroy their wielders.

Shiebe: "That's... where the book ends?!"

Eager to try it for himself

Shiebe was in the garden, preparing to try Zero Transmission. Before starting, he stretched his arms dramatically and whispered:

Shiebe:"Okay, anime logic... don't fail me now."

He planted his feet firmly, held his hands out like he was about to go Super Saiyan, and shouted: "Unleash—Mega—Blood—Power—GO!"

...Nothing happened.

He opened one eye, looked around, and mumbled: "Well, that's embarrassing."

Then the wind started to shift, and sparks began to gather."Oh. Oh, snap. It's actually working?! I was mostly joking—wait, WAIT—"

Shiebe's actions in the garden didn't go unnoticed. As the wind began to whip around him, Liliana's attention was drawn to the growing storm outside. She could feel a shift in the air, a subtle yet unmistakable energy that hummed in her bones.

She walked to the window, her brow furrowing as she stared at her son—no longer a helpless child, but now something more. His small hands were raised to the sky, his body emanating an aura of energy that radiated like an untamed flame.

Liliana (thinking to herself):What is he doing? Why is he... glowing?

For a moment, she thought it was just a phase of his developing powers—a natural sign of a young child experimenting with their Syreum. But there was something different, something dangerous about the intensity building around him.

Her heart skipped a beat as dark clouds began to swirl above him, an ominous sign that this wasn't just child's play.

Then, it happened. A figure appeared—out of nowhere. Its presence was like a shadow that swallowed the air around it. Liliana's eyes widened in immediate recognition.

Liliana:No, no, no...

She rushed toward the door, her pulse racing, as her thoughts scrambled to make sense of what was happening. The figure looked human—almost—but there was something deeply unsettling about its appearance. Its black eyes glowed with malice, and strange marks crossed its face, giving it an unearthly, sinister appearance. The figure wasn't running to greet Shiebe; it was charging straight at him, ready to strike.

Liliana's heart sank.

Liliana (yelling as she ran toward the door): "Shiebe, get away from there—!"

But it was too late. The strange figure was already in the air, a dark, deadly silhouette heading straight toward her son.

Her instincts kicked in. Liliana raced toward the garden, her heart hammering in her chest. She couldn't let him be harmed—not like this, not now.

At that moment, Shiebe reacted. His hands flared with an overwhelming power—lightning sparked from his body like an electric storm. And before Liliana could make it outside, Shiebe released the energy he had been gathering.

Liliana (shouting): "Shiebe! No—!"

The sphere of energy shot through the air with a deafening roar, colliding with the strange figure just as it reached Shiebe.

BOOM!
