The next day, while Steve was in his deep lumber
Moon Begins to Tell the Dream:
He found himself in his college days, standing at the edge of a massive stage during some kind of grand function. The air buzzed with excitement, the crowd a sea of familiar and unfamiliar faces. Most of the people he'd met in his life seemed to be there, waiting eagerly.
The announcer called his name for a dance performance.
Announcer: "Steve, come on up!"
Every eye turned to him, the spotlight blinding as it locked onto his trembling figure. His heart raced, threatening to burst out of his chest. Sweat dripped down his forehead as if he were standing in the middle of a scorching desert. His legs shook, and the weight of the crowd's expectations pressed down on him like a suffocating blanket.
Steve's Thoughts: "I don't even remember how to dance. What am I doing here?"
He turned to walk away, his head hung low, the fear and pressure overwhelming him.
But then, a cold hand grabbed his wrist, pulling him back toward the centre of the stage.
"A cold hand from nowhere grabbed him. For a second, he saw her face—those deep blue eyes shining like stars."
The music began to play, a haunting melody that seemed to echo in his soul. She locked her eyes onto his, but her gaze went deeper—past his eyes, into the depths of his mind.
All he saw was a warm blue star, warming him from the inside. his body moved on its own, dancing with her.
She was mesmerising. Her short hair swayed with her movements
Her small nose turned red by the deep breath in this cold night all in the bright spot light.
"Who is she? Is she, my friend?"
As the music reached its crescendo, she leaned in, her nose brushing against his.
"Who am I? Who am I to you, my darling?" Vega asked loud at her face holding both her hand on his face with a smile burst out of joy.
She smiled, revealing her cute vampire-like teeth, and then she disappeared like mist in the sunlight.
After her dance, the announcer girl stepped forward and said:
Announcer girl: "Thank you, everyone!"
The announcer was a girl with long, deep black hair and sharp, piercing eyes.
"That girl—Vega—messed up the plan in this dream too. I have to kill her to give him a nightmare." Announcer girl thought as the people disappeared,
The plan was clear: "If she hadn't shown up, everyone would've blamed Steve, and he would've been beaten by his classmates."
As she walked to the back of the stage, her thoughts were heavy with determination.
"Vega is a star. If I kill her, she'll die in the real world and won't be able to return to any other dream. Then, I can give him nightmares—so terrifying that he'll be scared to close his eyes."
She planning with her cold smile.
Moon: "This is bad. It's a Dreambreaker."
Little Stars: "What is it, Mama?"
Moon: "They are the ones who give you nightmares. They feed on negative emotions, and there's a huge ball of negativity deep inside Steve. This isn't a regular Dreambreaker—it has consciousness."
As the Moon finished speaking, the day broke, and Steve woke up with a smile, the warmth of the dream still lingering in his heart.
[For the nerds who want more detail:
A Dreambreaker feeds on negative emotions inside the unconscious mind. Most Dreambreakers are like worms—mindless and short-lived, dying after a few days. But this one is different. It has consciousness. To defeat it, Steve must overwhelm it with positive emotions. However, bringing positive emotions into the unconscious mind is incredibly difficult.
This dream breaker has some control over his dreams, making it especially dangerous for Vega (the star). If a star dies in someone's unconscious mind, it cannot return. If Steve realizes he's dreaming within the dream and remembers it in real life, he can bring Vega into his conscious mind. In rare cases, he might even be able to communicate with her in his thoughts.]
