Chapter 910 - Chapter 906: …Dynamax?

"Magmor… TAAAR!"

A thunderous roar echoed throughout the entire pit. All the wild Pokémon lowered their heads, as if awaiting their king.

Sato and Cynthia exchanged a glance, immediately realizing that an even more powerful presence was among the wild Pokémon.

Just then, the previously calm magma river began to churn, and a deep red giant figure slowly emerged from within.

Another Magmortar!

But this one… was so massive that even the previous three-meter-tall Magmortar now seemed tiny in comparison.

And when the colossal Magmortar fully stepped out of the lava, both Sato and Cynthia had to look up just to see it.

At eye level, they could only see its knees!

For a moment, Sato thought he had somehow ended up in the Galar region… facing a Dynamaxed Magmortar!

The next moment, the oversized Magmortar raised its truck-sized cannon-like right arm and, without a word, launched a massive Flamethrower at them!

"PROTECT!" x2

Sato and Cynthia shouted the command at the exact same time!

The roaring Flamethrower engulfed both of them completely.

Watching the blazing inferno raging just outside their Protect barriers, both Sato and Cynthia felt a chill of dread.

The Flamethrower lasted an entire minute. As the flames subsided, Sato and Cynthia seized the moment to mount Sharpedo and Eelektross.

At the same time, Umbreon, Krookodile, Milotic, and Gastrodon were recalled into their Poké Balls by Sato and Cynthia respectively.

Once on Sharpedo's back, Sato instinctively looked back at where they had just been standing…

Aside from the area shielded by Protect, the surrounding ground had actually melted from the heat!

The temperature was unimaginable!

Only after escaping the range of the Flamethrower did Sato dare to send out Tyranitar, so it wouldn't get its feet scorched the moment it appeared.

Meanwhile, Cynthia sent out her undisputed ace: Garchomp!

Perhaps due to its sheer size, the massive Magmortar didn't move quickly, giving Sato and Cynthia a much-needed breather.

In the next moment, Tyranitar whipped up a Sandstorm. The storm howled, blanketing more than half the pit in seconds.

Even though the Magmortar stood as tall as a three-story building, it still couldn't escape the range of the Sandstorm.

"…MORTAAAAR!"

Magmortar's roar rang out once again, and with it came waves of fiery black smoke laced with sparks.

Lava Plume: a Fire-type area move that attacks everything nearby indiscriminately, with a one-third chance to inflict a burn.

…But the greater danger of Lava Plume was the heavy smoke choking the air, which could cause Pokémon to suffocate and faint!

"Tyranitar, intensify the Sandstorm!"

"Garchomp, Earthquake!"

Sato and Cynthia immediately gave commands, trying to disrupt Magmortar's indiscriminate assault.

At the same time, all other Pokémon in the pit began to flee in a panic; even the two powerful Magmortar and Magnezone didn't stick around.

However, Cynthia noticed something… even while fleeing, Magnezone didn't forget to order its subordinates to levitate the generators away with Magnet Rise.

Suspicious!

Cynthia made a mental note about the generators, then turned her full attention back to the battle.

At this moment, Garchomp's Earthquake had taken effect. With its exceptional control, the tremor was confined precisely to the ground beneath Magmortar's feet, avoiding Tyranitar completely.

The violent shaking severely disrupted Magmortar, whose enormous body only made it more unsteady. It was forced down onto one knee.

The Lava Plume was interrupted, and the thick, searing smoke that had already formed was tightly contained by Tyranitar's Sandstorm.

The haze spread thickly, and now even Magmortar was struggling to breathe. Its frustration escalating rapidly.

"Mag… mortar… TAAAAAR!"

Magmortar struggled to rise, but the ongoing tremors left it completely unable to regain its balance.

In the next moment, it gave up on standing. Kneeling, it raised its cannon-like right arm, aiming directly at the unmoving Tyranitar.

Fire Blast!

"Tyranitar, Rock Tomb!"

"Garchomp, Dragon Rush to interrupt it!"

Sato and Cynthia both shouted their commands.

Tyranitar stared gravely ahead at the forming Fire Blast, while continuously drawing up surrounding Rock-type energy.

Boom! Boom! Boom…

Massive boulders surged from the ground, forming an airtight wall around Tyranitar.

Then, with a swipe, it made a giant stone slab appear to seal the exposed top, fully enclosing itself.

On the other side, Garchomp had already transformed into a deep purple dragon, roaring as it surged toward Magmortar's right arm, trying to disrupt the Fire Blast's aim.

But Magmortar, though lacking agility, did not delay in executing the move. Even a high-energy Fire Blast was formed near-instantly!

At last, Dragon Rush struck Magmortar, but Fire Blast was launched at nearly the same time, flying straight at Tyranitar.

A massive Fire-type attack like that would barely miss, even if the aim shifted slightly.

Thankfully, the Rock Tomb was complete, with even the gaps filled in by Tyranitar using fine sand.

"Garchomp, aim for the head!"

The Fire Blast had been unleashed. Knowing Garchomp could no longer assist Tyranitar, Cynthia launched a new offensive!

It was already a two-on-one. How could they not make full use of that advantage?

Garchomp didn't even slow down. Using its sheer physical might, it kept surging forward in Dragon Rush stance, ramming toward Magmortar's head!

Meanwhile, the roaring Fire Blast slammed into Tyranitar's makeshift "stone fortress."

Almost instantly, parts of the structure began to melt. Even the dry sand was burned into sheets of transparent glass!

This giant Magmortar, after all, lived in magma…

The heat of its flames repeatedly shattered Sato and Cynthia's expectations.

Thankfully, Fire Blast was a single, focused attack. Though more powerful than usual, it wasn't enough to overcome the type disadvantage and defeat an Elite Four level Tyranitar in one blow.

At this moment, what Magmortar now faced was Garchomp's all-out Dragon Rush.

And the target… was its massive head!

Magmortar sensed the danger, tried to raise an arm in defense, but its movements couldn't match Garchomp's blinding speed.

With no other choice, Magmortar executed a "tactical" backfall, dropping straight backward!

In the next second, Sato's voice rang out in perfect sync!

"Tyranitar! Lock onto where Magmortar's falling. Use… Stone Edge!"
