"What is he even doing?"
"Damn it, who knows."
Watching the azure light flash again and again, the Avengers were anything but calm.
Noah's actions were strange.
And dangerous.
This was the first time they had ever seen someone manipulate an Infinity Stone like this.
Tony stared for a long time, then finally looked up at Thor.
"Thor. God of Thunder. Mr. Explosive Temper."
"What exactly is he doing?"
Thor looked at Tony as if he were looking at an idiot.
At the same time, Fat Thor seemed to realize something and turned around.
"Are you calling me?"
"Of course not."
Tony nearly rolled his eyes and pointed at the muscular Thor standing near Noah.
"I'm calling him."
"Calling me?"
Thor pointed at himself, then spread his hands.
"Speak, Tony. What is it?"
"You don't need to act like that. Even if we're from different universes, I think we should still know each other."
"Indeed we do. Which is why I know how terrible your personality is."
"So. What's the problem?"
"Fine. I'm misunderstood in every universe."
Tony waved it off.
"Do you know what he's doing?"
"I mean-your universe's Sorcerer Supreme."
Thor thought for a moment.
Then he spoke slowly.
"I think... he's trying to see if Natasha can still be saved."
Tony paused.
Then nodded.
"That makes sense."
Because of Noah's earlier interference, Thor's relationship with the Avengers was only average.
They were acquaintances.
But Noah?
That was different.
Tony could tell Noah was interested in the Soul Stone.
That was the reason for all this.
As for whether Noah would look for Natasha's soul-
He probably would.
But only after he got what he wanted.
Thor had no problem with that.
Compared to these people he barely knew, he was more than happy to support a friend.
Besides, Noah wasn't refusing to save anyone.
He just wanted to get something in return.
"Oh!"
Banner suddenly reacted.
"I think I get it now."
"When I was in their universe, I once tried to grab a stone..."
"And my soul got slapped out."
"Soul?"
Steve frowned.
"Your soul was slapped out?"
"That doesn't make any sense."
If someone's soul left their body, shouldn't they be dead?
Even Steve and the others, who knew nothing about magic, were completely lost.
Banner hesitated.
It sounded ridiculous even to him.
But before he could explain, Fat Thor suddenly exclaimed.
"My goodness."
"He actually found it?!"
Fat Thor's eyes were wide.
Combined with his shaking belly, the scene was almost comical.
But no one laughed.
Everyone immediately looked toward Noah.
Then-
Tony rubbed his temples and pointed forward.
"There's nothing there."
"What did you see?"
"Are you drunk?"
"Oh. Right."
Fat Thor coughed lightly.
"You can't see it."
"You're ordinary people."
"Souls aren't visible to you."
"But simply put-"
"He found Natasha's soul."
"Found it?"
"Is that... real?"
The Avengers froze.
Then erupted in disbelief.
The feeling was strange.
Especially for Barton.
His eyes turned red again.
He hadn't forgotten the Red Skull's words.
Souls sacrificed to the Soul Stone could never be erased.
And now-
This wizard from another universe had actually found Natasha's soul inside it?
Even though he couldn't see it, Barton believed Thor.
That trust came from fighting together.
For a moment, it felt like all the strength drained out of him.
Noah frowned slightly.
He looked at the sleeping soul floating before him.
Helpless.
He had found her.
But her soul had clearly been affected by the Soul Stone.
It was dormant.
That wasn't a big problem.
He could extract a bit more power to wake her up.
The real problem was something else.
"...May I ask a rude question?"
Noah interrupted their discussion.
Once everyone looked at him, he spoke calmly.
"Where is her body?"
"Body?"
Barton froze.
Then his expression changed.
"You want her body?"
"What do you want it for?"
Noah looked at him like he was stupid.
For a moment, he felt the gap between mages and ordinary people was really something.
But then again, that was normal.
They'd seen aliens.
Sorcerers.
Infinity Stones.
And still couldn't think one step ahead?
Noah paused.
Then remembered-
This Barton hadn't even met the Sorcerer Supreme before all this.
Tony reacted first.
"You mean..."
"You need a vessel for her soul."
"Exactly."
Noah nodded.
"So where is her original body?"
"This..."
Barton fell silent.
Everyone understood.
He had come back alone.
That memory was clear to all of them.
It made sense.
Natasha was dead.
She couldn't operate the equipment.
Barton alone couldn't do everything.
Whether it was panic, escape, or simply impossibility-
No one blamed him.
Anyone would've broken in that situation.
"I understand."
Noah sighed.
He glanced at Natasha's floating soul, thought briefly, then snapped his fingers.
In an instant, an overwhelming power spread across the compound.
The Avengers tensed.
Then-
A figure appeared before them.
A woman.
Floating.
Eyes closed.
It was Natasha.
It was undeniably her.
She wasn't dressed, which was... an issue.
But there was no doubt.
"My god..."
Tony swallowed.
"There really is such a thing as a soul."
Then he hesitated.
"Isn't this a bit... inappropriate?"
"Inappropriate?"
Noah tilted his head.
"Souls are like this."
"Were you born wearing clothes?"
"If you're dead, this is how it is."
"...Okay."
Tony nodded.
He accepted it.
And very deliberately avoided looking too closely.
"So."
"Is there another way to revive her?"
"Yes."
Noah nodded.
"Clone a body."
The answer came too easily.
Cloning wasn't difficult in Noah's universe.
Especially after Star Wars.
Thor and Loki both agreed.
They knew someone in Noah's Sanctum whose body had been replaced while the soul remained.
"Cloning..."
Tony's mouth twitched.
"That's... very difficult for us."
"Difficult?"
Thor looked confused.
"Isn't it just extracting genes, replicating them, and creating a body?"
"Don't you have her DNA?"
Tony stared at him darkly.
For a moment, he felt Fat Thor was actually more likable.
"It really is that simple."
Loki spoke up.
Then pointed at Noah.
"This guy already did it."
"The body turned to bones."
"He pulled out the soul and used cloning to resurrect them."
"...Wait."
"Is your technology so backward that you can't do this?"
Loki was still Loki.
Whether intentional or not, the words hit hard.
They couldn't do it.
Whether due to ethics or focus, this universe simply didn't have that technology.
Noah knew that.
He was just teasing them.
With a wave of his hand, a flawless diamond appeared in his palm.
Golden light shimmered.
Natasha's soul vanished into it.
"Remember to reimburse me."
Noah casually tossed the diamond.
"This isn't cheap."
"Gold only."
Steve frowned.
"You put Natasha's soul..."
"Into a diamond?"
"Of course."
"If I leave her outside, she'll dissipate in minutes."
"You want that?"
"...No."
Steve shook his head.
"You're the professional."
"We trust you."
Then he paused.
And spoke slowly.
"She is our family."
"No problem."
Noah nodded.
"She did well in our universe too."
"Now-"
"Can you tell me your plans?"
"I think that won't be a problem."
