There is a lot he didn't know about. Going out without proper knowledge would only cause losses to him, as he might miss out on many things. To avoid that, he decided that for the next month, he would be going to the library as much as possible, as long as there were enough credits.
If he sold all the treasures that he had, he was sure that he could get a lot of credits, but he was not thinking about selling these treasures at all.
First, he decided to get an Identify skill or something that could help him identify the items easily. Once he was sure of their uses, whether to use them or sell them would be decided, but he couldn't sell the treasures that he got from the core region, as that might raise some questions that he didn't want to answer.
