Chapter 3 - Rosalind

As Leon took a deep breath, the brief sparks of lightning around his index finger intensified, growing stronger by the second.

Then, he opened his eyes, and let out an "Hmph!" as he let the lightning shoot out from his finger and into the metallic robot. The lightning struck the dummy, tearing off its head. But the strike of lightning also hit the wall behind the dummy.

"..."

Leon froze, his left arm frozen in its place. He let out a sigh, and did a facepalm with his left hand.

I'm so stupid… I only remembered just now that I'm supposed to punch and kick this metal dummy, not use magic on it…! Thankfully, the lightning wasn't that strong…

The metal dummy's head teleported back to its place, as if it was never struck by lightning in the first place. Then, Leon carried the dummy and put it back on the open wall. The wall closed, and he walked towards the part of the wall that he struck with lightning.

It's not that bad. I can always cover it up with something…

The wall was pitch-black because of the lightning. Leon ignored it for now and went to his favorite spot—the sofa. Going through his "memories," he remembered details about the lightning strike he used on the dummy.

That was a spell for Mage-type Visitors called "Lightning Strike"... It's really straightforward, it just fires a concentrated lightning strike. Hm… The other spells I have, excluding Lightning Strike, are: Light Chain, Light Beam, Light Spear, Blinding Light, Flight, Flame Ball, and Barrier…

Heh, there are four light-based spells… Right, the original owner of this body had a preference for light spells… And yet, he has a quiet, reserved, and mysterious personality…

So this… space organization has some kind of "power system"? It really is like a video game… or a novel… Hm, let's see…

As Leon was about to go through his memories about the spells he and the other class-type Visitors had, he was interrupted by a knock on the door.

Who is it again? The neighbor from earlier? An acquaintance of mine? No one comes to mind… Oh, right, the original owner of this body barely had any friends. He was a loner… Well, trying to act like the original Donovan won't be so hard now. He's just like me, so acting should be easy…

He stood up from the sofa, walking over to the front door. Then, Leon asked, "Who is it?"

Leon heard a feminine voice from outside, saying, "Donovan, open up, it's your sister!"

My sis—oh, right, the original owner of this body has two siblings… This is my younger sister…

He took a deep breath, and finally opened the door. His sister was standing there with her arms crossed.

She had brown hair and green eyes, just like him. Her hair was in a neat bun. Her face was serious, but pretty. That grumpy expression on her face suited her. She was pretty small, with her head only reaching the chin of her brother standing in front of her. She was wearing a white high-collar blouse, a black blazer, a knee-length pencil skirt, and thin-framed glasses.

Going through his memories, Leon quickly remembered the name of his sister: Rosalind Volgard!

"It's 7:45, and you don't look like you're ready! Did you forget we're attending Benedict's wedding?! It's almost 8:30, so hurry your lazy ass up!" shouted Rosalind.

Keep your voice down, the neighbors will be mad…! Right, Rosalind and… the original Donovan had plans to visit their older brother who's about to get married… Come to think of it, I can't seem to remember how old my siblings are… Don't tell me the original Donovan forgot their age?! Oh, right, he rarely meets with his siblings anymore…

Leon was only wearing a simple white t-shirt, and gray sweatpants. Before he could respond to his sister's shouting, Rosalind made her way inside his apartment. With a sigh, Leon closed the door.

Looking around her brother's apartment, she hummed and said, "Last month I was here, everything was a mess. Whatever, just get ready! Have you even taken a shower yet?" Rosalind took a seat on the sofa, putting her purse beside her.

"Sorry, I forgot. I've already taken a bath. I won't take long," said Leon as he opened his wardrobe.

As he finished saying that, Rosalind's eyes slightly widened.

Huh. He's actually talking now?

As Rosalind was about to grab the TV remote on the desk beside the sofa, she saw the burned, pitch-black wall next to the bathroom.

She asked, "What happened to your wall?"

Leon's gaze landed on the wall. He replied, "Struck it with lightning. It's nothing serious."

Rosalind sighed as she shook her head left to right. Grabbing the remote, she turned on the TV with it.

Leon entered the bathroom with his clothes. After about three minutes, he exited the bath. His brown hair was slicked back, showing off his jawline even more. He was wearing a white dress shirt, a black vest, a black double-breasted suit, a black necktie, black tailored trousers, and brown dress shoes. On his left hand was his silver watch.

This is also my uniform for Visitor "work"...

"Let's go," Leon said to his sister who was watching the TV.

"Finally." Rosalind turned the TV off, and stood up as she grabbed her purse. She walked towards the front door.

As Leon was about to follow her, he forgot something as he turned around. Then, grabbing his black umbrella, he followed her outside his apartment.

I've only just transmigrated, and now I'm about to attend my older brother's wedding? Sigh…

Before leaving, Leon made sure to lock the sliding glass door on the balcony, and even the windows. Closing the front door, he brought his left, unoccupied hand to the small, rectangular-shaped thumb scanner next to the doorknob.

Pressing his thumb to it, the green light turned red, indicating that the door was locked.

Everything's so advanced here…

The two siblings walked in the hallway, down the stairs, and left the apartment building.

Leon finally got a better look of the outside world. Flying vehicles, a train in midair with no visible railway, and buildings taller than the ones in Leon's previous world. Above, holographic billboards projected shifting advertisements, news, and even virtual performers.

Robots and drones buzzed through the streets, attending to maintenance, deliveries, and security. And like the one Leon saw before, there was some kind of dome mixed in with the sky and the clouds. The entire city pulsed with life.

Although he's seen this view countless times in his "memories," he still couldn't help being amazed by the sight of a futuristic, technology-filled city.

The two siblings kept walking, crossing the road in the pedestrian lane, passing through other Visitors, and finally arrived at the park.

The sight of the park made Leon breathe a sigh of relief. He was relieved that amidst a city of advanced technology, there was still living, green grass and trees. He only remembered about this place through his "memories" just now.

The park was mostly empty, with only couples walking around.

At the center of the park was a large ship. Seeing the spaceship made Leon remember all those sci-fi movies he's watched.

Rosalind walked towards the ship while Leon followed. The spaceship's entrance was open, revealing its interior. Next to the ship's entrance was a man in black hair and brown eyes.

This man was wearing a simple white t-shirt, a brown leather jacket, and black cargo pants. His blonde hair was messy, and he was wearing black sunglasses.

The man was smoking a cigarette. Noticing the two siblings walking towards him, he dropped the cigarette. But before it could reach the ground, the man snapped his fingers, and the cigarette was suddenly lit on fire, turning to ashes.

Rosalind approached the man, and said, "Jacob, let's go. I wanna go to the wedding already."

The man, Jacob, nodded with a smile and said, "Alright."

Rosalind entered the spaceship first. As Leon approached, Jacob reached out his hand to him. He wanted to initiate a handshake.

"We've met, but we haven't talked. I'm Jacob Perkins, a friend of your sister. You must be Donovan Volgard, correct?" said Jacob.

Leon nodded, reached his hand out, and shook hands with Jacob.

"Hurry up, you two! I don't wanna be late to my brother's wedding!" shouted Rosalind from inside the ship.
