Chapter 109 - Valyrian Rituals

Secret Hideout

POV of Domeric Bolton

It has been more than 7 months since he brought the first magical tome from Valyria and started reading them.

If there was one thing he had learned during this time, it was that Valyrian ritual magic was extremely inefficient.

This had been a huge surprise to him because the Valyrians were well known for the large number of slaves they sacrificed for their rituals.

Perhaps the fact that they were so inefficient in this particular field of magic was the main reason why they had to sacrifice so many slaves and became so famous for it.

Regardless, the fact that they were inefficient in using the sacrifices didn't mean that it was not powerful.

After all, they had a ritual magic in their arsenal that could be used to bind dragons to a particular bloodline. Such magic was anything but weak even if it required the sacrifice of thousands of slaves to do so.

Aside from the ritual used to bind dragons to the bloodline, the ritual that attracted the most attention was the physique enhancement ritual, which could be used to increase a person's strength, agility, stamina, beauty, and lifespan.

Unfortunately, this particular ritual was not bound to the bloodline and required 1000 humans as a sacrifice. So even if he gave the sacrifice and enhanced his body, his children would still be normal humans.

He had been studying this particular ritual for the past two months and with the help of his own brand of magic and knowledge, he was able to lower the requirement of the sacrifice by ten times and add a few more things to the ritual like enhanced brain function, greater magical power and immunity to all forms of poison, magical or mundane.

It would take him a few more months to complete the whole ritual and stabilize it.

As for the 100 human sacrifices.

Of course, he wouldn't use humans as a sacrifice. Not now, not ever. Performing such rituals would make him no different than people like Voldemort.

He had seen so many horrible people in both his lives, especially ever since he came into this world. His heart had hardened even more than in his past life, and he knew that some people were better dead than alive.

But he also knew that crossing some lines had severe consequences. And he wasn't talking about magical consequences. Using people as sacrifices would likely change something fundamental in him and cause him to lose a part of his humanity.

And that was definitely something he didn't want to pay for. Not for power or anything else.

So, he changed some parts of the ritual and reorganized it. Actually, using humans as sacrifices for physique enhancement rituals wasn't the best choice. It was an inefficient method. Well, he already learned that Valyrians were inefficient at rituals, so it wasn't a surprise for him.

In this kind of ritual using physically stronger species would give better results. It could make it harder to design the ritual, but it would certainly lead to better results.

He therefore decided to use 13 different kinds of animals and beasts for the ritual, 11 of each. Each kind of animal would have a different kind of physical specialty like strength, agility, eyesight, reaction speed, stamina, etc.

He read through the magical tomes for the next few hours before he sensed a difference in the Symbol of Deathly Hollows. After a long time, his level 4 tattoo was finally about to replenish its magic.

He put the book away and apparated to his room.

The note he had left was still in its original place.

The faint light coming from the horizon told him that it was already morning and almost time for breakfast.

Oh well… he could get his reward with quick in and out and go to the breakfast after that.

Like he did many times in the past he focused his magic on his tattoo and his consciousness dived into it.

The Endless Void was no longer as empty as it had been at first. Many different colored spheres were floating around.

White-colored level 1 orbs were the majority, followed by blue-colored level 2 orbs. There were even 5 blue-colored level 3 orbs.

3 of the level three blue orbs were orbs that he did not choose to take when he decided to use the replenished magic of the tattoo to upgrade the symbol.

One of them was a dragon hide wand holder that was enchanted with quickdraw. His wand already was soul-bonded with him, and he could turn it into a tattoo and turn it back with just a thought. So, he didn't need a wand holder.

The other ones were a self-stirring pot that could be used for cooking or potion making and an animated enchanted armor that could be used as a guard like the ones at Hogwarts.

They could be used but he didn't find them very useful, so he decided to upgrade the tattoo rather than get them as rewards in the past.

And now there were two more level 3 blue orbs in front of him. He looked at them and could guess what they were even before he got information about them. But to make sure he reached the orbs and information about them flowed into his mind.

As he guessed, one of them was a pair of basilisk gloves and the other one was a Firebolt broomstick. Like the rewards before they were useful but not so much needed. Especially the new broomstick he made from the weirwood tree was faster and more comfortable than a Firebolt.

After that, he checked other new green and white orbs but none of them especially piqued his interest. So turned his attention to his grand prize, the level 4 red orb.

Unlike the other orbs, he couldn't tell what was inside it. It looked like a grey mist. So, he held out his hand towards the orb, and information about it flowed into his mind.

"No way!" That was the only thing he could say when he got the information. After he sobered up from a state of shock he didn't think twice and grabbed the red orb.

When he returned to his room a grey mist came out from his Deathly Hallows tattoo, gathered in front of him, and eventually turned into a creature.

The creature opened its large sleepy-looking eyes and looked at Domeric for a few seconds as if trying to understand the situation. Suddenly his big eyes opened even wider and he called Domeric's name in an excited tone.

"Great Master Harry Potter, sir!" He called Domeric not by his name in this world, but by his name in his past life. This creature knew him in his past life and Domeric knew him as well.

"Dobby?"
