Chapter 8 - Update With FCC.

"Yes… I…am…" his eyes scanned her from head to toe, and it made her look at him with a slightly judging look, and he noticed it, "pardon me for intruding, I didn't mean to invade your privacy…" repeating the same words she said to him before he did what he did to her. Skye's cheeks flamed hot red, and she didn't say anything more to him, "is this your attempt of seducing me my lovely wife? It is working…" grinning like the pervert he was, she paid him no attention.

"I could not find the towels, I searched everywhere." She made her complaint known and he nodded solemnly.

"There is a wardrobe behind the door, they are there. Pick as many as you like, but I doubt you would be needing them." Skye knew he was flirting with her, but she had to maintain character so he wouldn't suspect she was there to send his ass to jail.

"Thank you." she moved, bare to the door and Leonard didn't take his eyes off her, not for a second. In his head, he had scored a beautiful lady, but he had this nagging feeling deep down that she was not good for him. That she was hiding something, but he admitted inwardly, that was what made him drawn to her even more. So he watched her closely, from how she dried her body clean to her skincare routine, to when she put on clothes. Leonard could watch her all day, but he had more important things to do at the office today.

He had a guest. An old time friend, and they were about to cause havoc to the country. Leonard was planning one of the biggest scams yet, one that would look so real that the FCC would not even be able to probe him without looking like fools.

With a manner of elegance, he scooped himself to his feet and headed to the bathroom after taking a towel from the wardrobe. Skye's eyes followed him diligently before her mouth parted to oust some words, "are you going to the office again today?"

"Is there any day a businessman doesn't have work to do?" he smirked daringly, taking off his shirt, not caring if she minded it or not. His remark was witty, he had a point.

"So you are leaving me all alone in this big house again?" knowing that Leonard was a tough one, she took a more different approach, putting more emotion into her rhetorical question. He let out a soft sigh.

"Maybe when I get back, we can plan a honeymoon. After all, we want the people thinking we are actually in love. Aren't we, my lovely wife?" crossing the space between them, he stood behind her back, just to caress her face as they stared at their reflections in the large antique mirror that hung just before them, her dressing table filled with makeup and lotions that she used to look pretty for him.

"That will be appreciated, but what am I to do while you are gone? You said I cannot move around the house so—" before she could finish her statement, he dropped his premium black card on her table and retreated into the bathroom, slowly.

"Go shopping, buy whatever you want. Buy the mall if you like it. Your husband is rich, and he will take care of you." a hearty laugh escaped his lips before the bathroom door shut. Skye looked at the card, rolling her eyes at it before dropping it. She looked at it again and thought it would not be

bad idea if she went shopping. When was the last time a girl like her went shopping.

Leonard was rich, she could buy anything she wanted, the possibilities were many. But what she wanted the most was to make sure the baby that was growing in her womb was doing alright. She had no plans to keep it, and that was why she needed to send him packing as soon as possible. For her own sanity and her life.

An hour had passed since Leonard went to the office to handle his business, Skye thought it was the perfect time to step out and called the driver to take her to the nearest mall. She was now the wife of a big shot and of course, she had to shop for luxury brands. Entering the Fendi section, she made eye contact with a pair of boots she had always wanted. They had been brought back for a limited time, and she immediately snagged two pairs in different colours. She went ahead to make many purchases and try out new clothing and when she was on her 7th change, she noticed a piece of paper, neatly folded in the corner, one she knew had not been there since she was using the changing room. Her secret agent senses told her to pick it up and when she did, a small smirk appeared on her face.

She told her shopping assistant to watch her things while she went to find other things she could buy. She entered the makeup section and just as she had expected, she saw Arianna, waiting for her as she had said she would be.

"Looking for something that's your shade?" Skye poked fun only for her to roll her eyes at her best friend.

"Quick, tell me the update before anyone starts to suspect. I have to report back to boss and trust me when I say, he is not happy with the route you are taking." she went on to nag her best friend only for Skye to let out a sweet giggle.

"I haven't found anything yet, but I came across a locked drawer in his study. He found me before I could get it open…" memories of what happened the night before flashed through her mind and her cheeks flushed. Her friend wondered what was wrong with her, but the update was more important, "it has a passcode. Digital."

"And he doesn't suspect you? That is good." Arianna commended, knowing that her friend was more than capable, "here, it should be able to override the system and let you into the locked drawer. If you check closely, there should be a—"

"USB port that I can plug it, I know babe, I didn't start this job yesterday." she couldn't help but grin. Arianna had picked up a foundation bottle and dropped the bottle with the drive where she had previously picked it, allowing Skye to take it without the cameras catching, "thanks."

"Keep feeding me, constant update is what is keeping boss from changing plans and getting you out of Leonard's house. He is worried about you."

"Tell him I'll be fine. It isn't my first black case." and with that, she exited the makeup area. Her shopping assistants had packed up her things pretty well and when it was time to pay, and she brought out her husband's black card, it was a breeze. In fact, everyone respected her even more for having a black card. Her things were loaded into the car and she was taken home. When she got home, Leonard had not yet arrived, meaning she was alone in the house, and it was a good time to see what that safe was hiding.

She played it cool by spending some time in her room before going to check out his private study. To her surprise, the door was slightly opened and when she peeped, she saw someone that she hoped she would not see in a long while.

Her ex.
