Chapter 107 - Village Permit ?

*Clop-clop-clop-clop*

A wagon rolled to a stop before the village gates, the sharp echo of hooves fading into the night. Both guards jolted upright from their stools.

"Who the hell is out here at this hour?" one guard muttered, glancing at his partner, both narrowing their eyes in confusion.

"State your name."

"What's your business here this late in our village ?"

They stepped forward cautiously, spears angled towards the lone driver.

"Relax… it's just me," Leon muttered as he jumped down from the wagon, rubbing his temple with a grimace.

"Leon? What in the world are you doing driving a wagon this late?" one guard asked, bewildered.

"I will tell you that someday, it's a long story… I'm going home. My head's splitting." Leon grumbled as he strode past them towards the gate.

'Shit… the moment I deactivated Adaptive Body, the hangover hit me like a hammer. Never drinking that much again,' he thought bitterly clenching his jaw.
