It's easy to disappear in the background.
Less drama of the spotlight ain't on you, less unrequired attention too. I have liked being in the background, getting forgotten even if momentarily, until I am needed again. I preferred it so.
I have always been the quiet kid, the deeply introverted kid who was obsessed with books, video games, and a little nerdy with braces and round glasses. I got picked on a lot, until someone bigger came and fought off the bullies, and to think the protector was someone who constantly teased me when we were alone.
My crush too, and he told me that he had a crush on me too in middle school.
