Chapter 13 - chapter 13

Amity Park became a war ground for Douglas who is having a field day. Raining hell on all life he sees as a pest, meaning. Every. Little. Thing. Innocent or guilty are never ruled out equally. Danny was out cold being smashed into a wall, leaving Dan to unleash everything he has to gain some advantage against them.

"GRAHH?!" Dan growled pouncing with wild ferocity at Douglas, only leaving little scratches on their armour and laughed at Dan's attacks despite being flung about a few times.

"This is quite entertaining. I haven't met a monster like you before, most would've died in 10 minutes. And yet you're still alive?" Douglas' curiosity was peaked looking at an out of control Dan, a face full on rage aimed at him. There is no use talking to them when they're like this. "Not much of a talker, huh? Oh well. I might as well see how much you can endure compared to that little flea" cracking his neck it was like he's purposely trying to tick Dan off, and insulting his family is a big no-no.

"Try it.. I dare you" Dan's voice was darker and bitter challenging Douglas' threat, but this was something he needed to let off some boiled up stress.

"Oh, so you can talk. Just don't cry or beg for mercy once I stop pulling my punches" Douglas chuckled darkly grinning at him, cracking their knuckles with a satisfying crack preparing for a fight they do desperately yearned for decades.

Danny eventually sat up, as the rubble of bricks fell from him rubbing the side of their head surprisingly still in his ghost form. Slowly standing up when spotting Dan being flung into the ground similar to Soreo, cussing the lad to panic and immediately jump into action ignoring a potential concussion.

Dan growled shaking his head glaring up spotting Douglas standing above him, with that calculated cold stare. Bruised and cut from the threat's constant attacks, grabbing the beast by their throat as Dan grabbed his arm attempting to break free, but it was useless.

"No point trying to flee. I'm going to kill you just like I did to Soreo, and make if agonisingly slow for you" Douglas announced what he'll do to them, seeing no fear in Dan's eyes whatsoever. It was a first that a prey showed no fear to his threats. "I'm being serious. I'll kill you and then I'll do the rest to your pathetic family!" This enraged something in Dan, as he gripped onto the armour and managed to somehow break a decent piece. Throwing it aside as he continued to grip where they broke the piece from and wanted to take more off for more access to Douglas' sensitive flesh.

"I'll rip you apart, limb by limb.. until all that's left is a pile of flesh!" Dan growled as he felt the drip tighten around their neck, slightly drooling from the quickening lack of oxygen supply.

That was when Danny came out of nowhere and bashed into Douglas with his shoulder, freeing Dan from their death grip. This gave them the slight advantage they needed to do some decent damage.

"Cheap shot" Douglas scoffed skidding his feet across the gravel, coming to a stop from Danny's power tackle. Continuing the fight filled with adrenaline to take down this guy or all humanity is doomed.

The girls were able to find a temporary cave outside of town to take refuge, at least till the fight ends with a winner or end of humanity as we know it.

"I hope they're doing alright.." Devina silently sulked near the fire, sheltered by the slowly starting downpour thanks to the cave. Jazz saw how worried they were and scooted over placing a hand on their arm.

"You know how tough they are. It'll take an army to stop them" Jazz gently tried to lift their spirits, as Dani rested against Devina already asleep. They stuck huddled up together, by the fire thinking they'll be safe from Douglas. Or whoever he might've come with. Wishing for everyone to be alright after taking caring of the threat, including Jazz's parents who are currently out of town so they're momentarily safe from the chaos.

As for the next 3 days, the portal will remain open, accessible to whoever wishes or dares to tread in unknown territory. And someone did, Solar had returned appearing more tense and serious compared to how anyone had seen him, like he's been training since arriving back to The Shattered Reality and this time he doesn't plan to go back empty handed.

It had been awhile since the fight had started. The cold night breeze put out the girl's fire within their cave, keeping each other warm by remaining huddled together shivering with every wave of cold wind that manages to slip inside through the cave's entrance. Dani was having trouble going back to sleep having full view of anyone attempting to come in.

Staring into the dark forest outside, a shadow swished by making her sit up and rub their eyes not sure if it was the exhaustion playing tricks with their eyes. Slowly standing up to get a better look outside, when a shadow emerged from the trees reminding them of Dan and yet there wasn't another to prove if it was actually him.

"Dan, is that you?" Dani called out within the cave making her sound louder due to the echo. Jazz sat up, along with Devina who wasn't sure if this kid was messing with them. But they too see the figure, but a strange feeling of dread hit them as silence was returned to Dani's voice. "Hello! Why aren't you saying anything?" They continued to try and get something out of the figure, as Jazz slowly reached out when a blast shot out of nowhere hitting the child. Crashing Dani into the back of the Cave's wall causing rubble to crumble from the cave's roof as wet footsteps began to move closer forcing Devina and Jazz to rush over and check on the girl.

"There you are!" A growl rumbled as a clawed hand reached out and grabbed the back of Devina's hair yanking them aggressively backwards, landing on her ass back on the cave's stone cold floor. She hissed from the rough impact and pain, knowing that'll leave a bruise, but this was the least of their concerns. Jazz turned around to see what had just happened before gasping in shock, seeing Solar stood there with a clump of Devina's ponytail in his clawed fingers. Glaring at the humans with pure disgust.

"Devina?!" Jazz yelled as Solar opened his palm at her ready to launch an attack, when he remembered something. Human's are increasingly fragile and could die to the simplest of attacks by his kind, so they made a choice to land a more gentle and yet powerful attack sending her back sustaining serious damage.

"NO?!" Devina screamed seeing the display of cruelty. Solar tugged at their hair shutting her up before yanking them onto their feet. "Why are you doing this? They did nothing to you!" She yelled tears forming in their eyes compared to his coldness followed with a scowl, as he yanked them out of the cave without a care of their currently delicate condition.

"Just be grateful I hadn't killed them. So shut up and comply or I'll give you a reason to hate me" Solar growled shooting a glare at her pregnant bump, as she instinctively covered it with both hands making him grin. "The king is going to love this.." they thought keeping them close by maintaining a tight grip on the hair, before he grew impatient knocking them out and pick her up in his arms and took off for the portal back to their world. Anticipation build up as he went over the town, purposely allowing the heroes to glance up seeing Solar carrying something until realising it was Devina.

"NO! They have Devina!" Danny exclaimed as Dan growled glaring up seeing this and attempted to fly up, until Douglas grabbed their leg and slammed him into the ground. However, Danny managed to slip past and follow the prince to a strange cave not far out from Amity Park. It was illuminated by crystals heading deeper to find a weird looking rift as Solar walked into it, Danny paused can't having go alone, but what else could he do? It isn't like he knew how ling the rift has left before it temporarily closes until the next full moon comes back around. "I'm sure he'll be able to find a way to find me, but I can't let Solar harm her either.. I just hope I don't come to regret this" he thought glancing behind them where he had come from, but this leap into the rift made him a bit anxious of what to expect once they enter this unfamiliar world. Is it like the ghost zone? Or is it similar to an actual fantasy realm?

Danny sighed already seen how powerful these guys were and miraculously survived, so he walked towards the rift putting a hand through before retracting it. Replacing it with his head seeing the other side that connected to another cave, making it somewhat easy and away from danger as he eventually fully went inside.

It had a spiky roof, little glowing blue water in corner parts of the cave opening, footsteps could be heard forcing Danny to panic, flying up and latch onto the furthest spike within the darkness. Two guards came in checking the area wearing silver armour that is the same make of Douglas', but different in colour clearly ranks below him.

"heard the prince caught them. Does that mean the coronation is back on?" One of the two knights mentioned having the rumours already spreading around the kingdom, no knowing that an unknown lad is now walking amongst them from another world.

"Finally! We can get a new king. I hope Solar actually makes this place better compared to what Lucius has done" The other one added followed with a chuckle at the thought of a more younger and more fitting ruler to change their kingdom. Hopefully in a more respectful light.

Danny listened in on the Knight's conversation, phasing through the walls of the cave following them throughout the paths twists and turns before reaching the outside where a beautiful scenery hit him. It was not what he had been expecting, flying up still invisible to get a better look in the sky as there stood not far away, a large kingdom stands tall with millions in population within it of different kinds of species living in a what appeared to be equality and freedom, but there is a much darker reason behind it.

He flew over unaware of what to expect here, landing on the kingdoms bumpy stone floor mesmerised by how much different everything was compared to his world. It was like they had just stepped into a fantasy. Deactivating his invisibility the civilians of the kingdom were stunned by his appearance, seeing him as some sort of traveler.

One of them even lent him some Mystic Chips and Blood Janne to help them, believing he was homeless. Danny thanked them and went to a cloth merchant and bought a hooded cloak to hide from those who may recognised him, mainly Solar and Douglas if he were to return. That was when survivals guilt hit him for leaving Dan to fight that guy alone, but then something caught his attention when remembering the look on Dan's face as if pleading Danny to help Devina.

"This far too much stress to have on my shoulder alone, but I can't just let them harm her. Dan wouldn't forgive for it" he thought sliding the cloak on after handing some of the land's currency to purchase this, and it was surprisingly cheap being black and smooth on the skin. Danny pushed on through the kingdom to get as close to the tall castle that is positioned elegantly in the centre of everything like some kind of symbol of power. "I need to get in there without being detected, but I'm in no condition to fight if these guys are just as strong as Solar and Douglas.. i need a plan" his thoughts continued to run through their mind still badly wounded from the fight against on of the most strongest ghosts other than Dan, but that is out of the question.

The pain was slowly becoming far too uncomfortable eventually collapsing in the middle of the street. Civilians either ignored or mumbled to one another about him, that was until a couple stumbled upon him. The woman gasped kneeling down being a snow leopard hybrid wearing a medieval style clothings, as her partner was clearly a ghost who silently stared down at the lad. He had white skin and medium light blue fiery hair. feelings their the unusual energy before quickly throwing the kid over his shoulder.

"What should we do with him, honey? The poor lad has clearly just survived some kind of attack" the woman worriedly asked as they walked through some alleyways, going further away from the castle where Danny was intending to go without tending to himself firsthand. They stopped in front of a wooden door and knocked in a weird pattern like some kind of morse code as it was unlocked from the inside, allowing them in by a black cat hybrid who stayed silent when seeing that they had arrived with someone.

"We need medic for this young lad stat!" The ghost demanded with his lover stood beside him, as a ghost dark purple and dark teal in, having silver eyes. emerges immediately from another room coming to tend to the lad. Noticing resemblances of the attacks when removing the cloak, exposing wounds that could potentially become infected if left untreated.

"It's clear that Douglas has tried to kill this one. It may suggest that they might've succeeded on collecting their target too by how urgent Solar seemed to be to see the king this afternoon. This isn't looking good for us guys" the guy spoke up as his lover linked onto his arm, clearly scared of the mention of Solar and Douglas' names. Especially in one sentence alone could make anyone shiver, knowing that it has to be serious if both are involved.

"But.. That means they'll kill her, Faris. We can't let that happen, or the entire realm will forever be plunged in a spiral of darkness if HE find out what they're doing to his spawn" the snow leopard quietly and urgently spoke up voicing their concerns on the matter, but he didn't seem concerned yet as the coronation isn't going to happen yet not until the moment is right to crown the next ruler of their kingdom.

"Don't worry, Seria my dear. The coronation isn't for another month which gives us plenty of time to prepare for a counter, but it has to be flawless if we want to save Devina from a demise they do not deserve" Faris replied gently gabbing his lover's hand, reassuring that everything will go smoothly once everything is in place. She nodded as they waited for the medic to save the kid from potential death, not expecting him to turn human halfway, stunning them, but not Faris as it only confirmed his suspicions. "Do not let him die. He's one of the many we need to save our kingdom or better yet the entire realm from it's inevitable collapse" he added demanding the lad be saved with no buts or complaints, and it was done proving that he was their leader. A hidden group who are against the king and his unfair treatment of the people of his kingdom.

Danny was eventually patched up and taken into one of the back bedrooms to rest, whilst Faris and the others think things over on what's going to happen during the coronation. Everything has to go accordingly to plan with or without any casualties. Faris already had his position secured and no one suspected a knight of the king to be a secret enemy and spy to ruin the coronation.

In Amity Park. Dan was knocked out cold making Douglas believe that he had killed him, but that wasn't true at all. Taking it as a sign to go, before taking off damaged and yet victorious, but then he paused midair remembering an order the king had sent him.

"Ugh, do I have to drag this brute along?" He groaned going back down, summoning a specialised collar chain around Dan's neck forcing him to lose his abilities and superhuman strength as he went into his human form. Unaware of what is happening. "Better" Douglas scoffed throwing the guy over his shoulder and took off once again to where Danny had entered to The Shattered Reality.

Faris felt another unknown presence enter the realm when Douglas carried Dan through the kingdom, like some kind of trophy as he headed to the castle where Devina is also being kept in the dungeons below.

"This isn't good, they've got another one" Faris whispered to his followers who saw the cocky knight who is too full of himself for their own good.

Douglas walked to the castle's doors, as its guards saluted him upon entering inside with a target on his shoulder. Walking within its long corridors before reaching the throne room where Lucius and Dione waited patiently, seeing the so called 'monster' that almost killed their son during his first expedition to collect Devina.

"I see you have the beast, as always you never seem to disappoint me" Lucius casually spoke as if expecting a successful return when sending Douglas to deal with the situation. And now they finally have the prisoner and now their mate.

"Want me to put him in the dungeon?" Douglas asked respectfully getting down on one knee with Dan still unconscious on his shoulder.

"And keep it chained up too. I'd want him executed first on the coronation after Solar becomes king" Lucius demanded dismissing the knight who stood up and took Dan to the dungeon, down curved stairway until reaching the wooden door creaking it open and stepped inside.

Groans and sobs from the captured could immediately be heard, as he walked past every single one without a care in the world. Including Devon's who is chained by magical chains, by her wrists, ankles and neck. Making moving around and sleeping incredibly difficult.

"Huh?" She glanced up hearing familiar sounds shivering in fear, not wanting to be inflicted any pain yet despite having fresh bruises on their body. That was when Douglas walked by with Dan over his shoulder, this wasn't good. "No.. this can't be happening. That can't be him!" She panicked internally wishing that it wasn't him, pulling against the chains to go and see them, but it was impossible.

"This will be your new home big guy.. or at least for a month" Douglas chuckles coldly keeping them a cell a few away from Debian's, keeping the magic power suppresser on Dan's neck to keep him weak, and unable to escape. Chaining him the same way as Devina, even if he was unconscious having no clue if he was spared or killed.

What will they do now?
