Chapter 53 - Chapter 54: Reinforcements Arrive

The Battlefield Trembles

The clash of lightning and fire raged across the shattered battlefield. The sky above was split in half, dark clouds swirling violently as thunder rumbled like an untamed beast.

Bolt stood firm, his aura glowing with a fusion of elements, his newfound mastery giving him a chance against the Lightning Warborn, Vael'Zarith.

But just as he braced himself for the next assault, an ominous energy surged from the distance.

Aether's voice cut through the battlefield.

"They're here."

Bolt turned, sweat dripping from his brow.

From the far end of the battlefield, three figures approached—their footsteps slow, deliberate, carrying the weight of warriors prepared for war.

At the front was Damian, a seasoned member of Celestial Tempest, his sword glinting under the storm's chaotic light.

Flanking him were Ren and Valea, the last survivors of the Black Squad—now Celestial Tempest after losing their faction.

Their expressions were grim.

Their target was clear.

Kairos.

Ren's golden eyes locked onto Kairos, who stood on the opposite end of the battlefield, his form barely illuminated by the flickering embers of his shadow-infused fire.

"So," Ren said, cracking his knuckles. "This is the bastard who betrayed us."

Valea narrowed her eyes, gripping the hilt of her twin daggers. "Let's end this."

Kairos let out a low chuckle, rolling his shoulders. "You people never learn, do you?" His crimson flames flickered ominously. "I don't answer to Celestial Tempest anymore."

Damian stepped forward, his grip tightening on his weapon. "Then you'll fall like the rest of your squad."

Kairos smirked. "You think the three of you are enough to kill me?"

Then—he vanished.

WHOOSH!

Ren barely had time to react before Kairos reappeared behind him, a blade of black flames slashing toward his back.

CLANG!

At the last second, Valea intercepted, her daggers sparking against Kairos's blade as she forced him back.

"Not bad," Kairos mused. "But—"

Before he could finish, Damian lunged.

BOOOOM!

A devastating energy slash tore through the ground, forcing Kairos to dodge.

Ren took the opening, his fists coated in raw celestial energy as he launched a barrage of strikes.

Kairos grinned as he met the attacks head-on, matching Ren blow for blow.

For the first time since his betrayal—Kairos was fighting against his former comrades.

And they were out for blood.

Meanwhile: Bolt vs. Vael'Zarith

As the battle between Kairos and the new members of Celestial Tempest erupted, Bolt's focus remained on Vael'Zarith.

Akane, Aether, and Sylva stood beside him, their auras burning bright as they prepared to back him up.

Vael'Zarith smirked, his electricity surging with newfound intensity.

"So, you called in reinforcements?" He tilted his head. "Smart move."

Bolt didn't answer.

Instead—he moved.

With a crack of thunder, he lunged forward, his elemental energy surging through his body as he attacked.

BOOOOOOM!

Vael'Zarith blocked, but this time—he was forced back.

Aether and Sylva took the opportunity to unleash their own attacks, forcing the Lightning Warborn onto the defensive.

But Vael'Zarith wasn't done yet.

His smirk deepened.

And then—he raised his hand.

The entire battlefield turned white—

And the true storm began.
