Bai Jin hurriedly explained, "I report to my Master, I have never dispatched the Judicial Celestial to the Lower Realm.
Since I have said that I would not interfere with the Westward Journey for obtaining the scriptures, I will keep my word, for being trustworthy is the virtue my Master and Master have taught me.
The reason the Judicial Celestials descended to the Lower Realm was because they received a plea for help from Tang Sanzang and Sun Wukong, stating that someone intended to kill the unborn child in Tang Sanzang's belly. Out of brotherhood or disdain for such cruelty, the Judicial Celestials descended in a personal capacity to aid Tang Sanzang. When they descended, I knew nothing of it."
Taishang Saint smiled and nodded, "I see!"
The Buddha spoke in great anger, "Bai Jin, how dare you lie through your teeth in front of a Saint?"
Bai Jin raised two fingers, with a serious face he said, "I dare swear an oath to the heavens."
