Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Hogwarts

"Finally, I'm here!"

As Lumen stepped onto the boat which would carry him across the moonlit river to the castle, which looked like it came straight out of a fairy tale. There was only one thing in Lumen's mind.

I need to get stronger!

The thought that even just in this year there was multiple times that Harry Potter and his friends died. Sooner than later, Lumen would be in immense danger if he did not get stronger and grow his power and influence in this world.

Coming back to the present, as the boats finally reached the shore of the majestic castle. The students were in awe. Lumen walked along the front of the group with Harry and Hermione, when reaching the top of the stairs they were met with a tall woman. Wearing what seemed to be a witches hat, dressed in a black robe. Lumen, of course recognized this woman almost instantly as Professor McGonagall. The strict but comfortable teacher of Hogwarts.

"Welcome to Hogwarts!" Professor McGonagall said towards the students in a normal but imposing tone.

"Before you take your seats, you must be sorted into your houses, they are Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin.

As Professor McGonagall kept talking, Lumen pondered over the fact that he had not even thought of what house he wanted to be in. He was smart, so he could be a good fit for Ravenclaw. He was strong and brave so Gryffindor was also an option. He knew he didn't want to be in Slytherin, not because it was "evil" or whatever just that his personality didn't match that of a Slytherin. Hufflepuff was a no go for Lumen, he never payed any attention to Hufflepuff. Out of the two houses he was thinking he'd want to be in, Lumen thought he could influence this world more if he was chosen into Gryffindor, and not Ravenclaw.

Lumen was taken out of his thoughts when he saw Harry turn towards someone speaking to him.

"Its true then, Harry Potter has come to Hogwarts." A boy who has white-blond hair donning a smug expression spoke. Side to side with some pretty ugly kids, Lumen thought.

Lumen looked up to see the boy walk up in front of Harry.

"I'm Malfoy, Draco Malfoy."

First Person POV

[I'm doing a First Person POV as honestly i think its easier to write some scenes in this POV then it is to write in Third Person. Let me know what you guys think :)]

Draco turned and looked at me "Who are you?"

"Lumen, just Lumen" I replied back with a indifferent expression

"No last name? you must be a muggle born." Draco's face contorted to one of disgust.

Haaaaah... he's barely an eleven year old kid, but he's already racist. I forgot this world is as fucked up as my old one.

"So what?" I stared at him, showing no signs of nervousness.

Draco turned back to Harry

"You'll soon find out some wizarding families are better than others Potter, you don't want to go making friends with the wrong sort."

To be honest, I couldn't care what this little racist white haired kid was saying, but i'd rather embarrass him then take it at face value. I raised my hand slightly, so as to not raise suspicion, I focused on the racist kid's leg and pulled my hand back making his leg slip out from underneath him.

"I can help yo-" Draco fell mid sentence in a comically accurate behavior, like slipping on a banana peel.

I could not hold back, I started chuckling followed along with the what seemed to be the rest of the year. Draco's friends helped him up. Draco looked like he was about to explode and walked away limping like a old man.

Professor McGonagall came back noticing the situation but saying nothing about it.

"They're ready for you now, follow me."

All the first year students walked towards a big door, when opened I saw four long table filled to the brim with all types of food, candles which were floating in the sky, along with older people sitting on the end. It was magical, almost a one by one replica of the movies I adored. All of us first year students gathered at the front of the dining hall.

"Before we begin, Professor Dumbledore would like to say a few words."

A man stood up in front of us, tall and imposing. A gentle smile on his face, covered in a radiant aura. If I did not know any better, I would think that this was just the sweet grandpa who lived in the neighborhood. I do know better though, as nice and gentle he looks. I know there is so much calculation going on in that brain of his. Many people from my past life thought he was evil or he was this and that. I do not care about those opinions, what he did was what he thought was for the best for the people. That is what makes him dangerous, he would not hesitate to sacrifice some for many, its ironic really, while Voldemort would sacrifice many for some. Two sides of the same coin. Regardless, I know that the more I get powerful and hold an influence over those who study here, the more this dangerous old man will pay attention to me. I have to either get stronger than him, which is going to be a challenge as he is the most powerful wizard in the world, or stay in the shadows and not draw attention. But, I have always been up for a challenge.

After Dumbledore stopped talking, I saw the sorting hat, it looked quite ordinary to be honest. Until it got put on Hermione's head as she was the first to be called upon, the hat contorting, into a pretty ugly face.

"GRYFFINDOR!" The ugly hat shouted.

Soon the students got called upon one by one. Professor McGonagall called my name.

"Lumen L-, Lumen." Professor McGonagall looked confused as there was no last name, just one name Lumen. She had never seen such a thing for all her years teaching at Hogwarts.

I walked up to the stage. i felt no nervousness to be honest, which was a bit surprising. Since, I've come to the terms that I'm actually in the world of Harry Potter, I've taken things with stride no matter the weirdness of it.

"Lumen hmm, you have the smarts of a Ravenclaw, hmmm kind enough to be a Hufflepuff, you look like your always planning something, devious hmm like a Slytherin. But your aura its one of a GRYFFINDOR!!" the ugly hat shouted hurting my ear drums a bit, I can't hate it though, I'm happy to be in Gryffindor.

Applause hit the table of Gryffindor as I made my way to the table, and sat next to Hermione, since Harry hasn't had his turn yet.

"I'm glad your in this house, Lumen. I was scared for you when the hat mentioned Slytherin." Hermione smiled and said to me.

"Me too, at least I have friends in this house, like you and hopefully Harry."

Hermione smiled at the thought that she had also made one of her first friends along with the famous Harry Potter from the train. Harry was then called, this is where I noticed it and i'm surprised more people didn't notice the guy dressed in all black, with hair coming to his shoulders staring at Harry. Snape, when I watched the movies, I did not mind Snape but thought he was a bit weak and pitiful. A double agent fooled by both sides, stuck on a love from decades before, which i could understand a little bit. But then again, hating the boy who just had the hat placed on him because that was the child of his old bully. It all seemed a bit childish.

"GRYFFINDOR" The hat said, after Harry's insistence.

After the ceremony and eating food there, we were taken around the castle along with some stairs that I knew would be a headache to get around. We reached the common room to where a older lady stood in a painting.

"Password." The older lady asked.

"Caput Draconis"

We walked into the common room where it seemed very cozy, a fireplace crackling with sofas layed out. Some stairs leading to the Boys, and Girls dormitories, Up and to the left for Boys, and the same but to the right for the girls.

As I sat in the room later that night, the other boys who were in the room with me asleep. I looked outside at the moon, thinking back on the past day.

"I need to get much much more stronger."

I already knew I had to get stronger, but I realized something today when I saw Dumbledore, it felt like the inside of my body wanted to rush and fight him straight away, I have no hate for him or that i can feel. The only feeling there, was to fight him. I knew then and now he is a million times stronger than I am, but why did I want to fight him? I could not understand it.

I also figured out that my magic works differently, when I say magic right now I'm referring to the "magic" with my hand. I'm not sure if i can do the magic I can with my wand, since I have not learned anything yet. But it almost feels like I have telekinesis. But its not exactly telekinesis, I feel like I can repel and attract the things I focus on.

"Its weird, I feel as if I've seen this type of power before... haah whatever i'll think about it later."
