Asher couldn't stop smiling, silently praising the Creator for making such a masterpiece of a life form—a beastkin woman.
But he was still curious, still needing to see more. He looked at Ravaine's face—her gaze was still fixed down, and he realized maybe his intense staring had made her a little too uncomfortable.
"I'm sorry," he said, his voice dropping to a genuine, softer register. "I didn't think about your feelings and just commanded you to do all these things.
