Chapter 174 - CHAPTER 174

If it weren't for the fact that the two of them were still too young—and that Logia-type Devil Fruits were notoriously difficult to control—Caesar would have directly fed the Goro Goro no Mi (Thunder Fruit) and the Pika Pika no Mi (Shining Fruit) to the two little brothers.

In the end, he held back.

It would be too troublesome if they were too young and couldn't control their abilities. He decided to wait until they were older.

In the original story, Monkey D. Luffy struggled to control the Gomu Gomu no Mi (which was classified as a Paramecia at the time), and even after training, he took years to master it.

Sabo, upon eating the Mera Mera no Mi, also needed time to adapt, despite being an already experienced fighter. Even then, fire was relatively easier to control than lightning or light, both of which had even more unpredictable and destructive properties.

As for what Devil Fruits they would eventually eat—Caesar had already thought about it.

But now—

There were more pressing matters.

"Today, do you have any good ideas?"

"Speak up! Let's hear them all!"

On the wooden deck of the Rex, Caesar leaned lazily against the railing, looking at his crew, who were all deep in thought, frowning.

This issue had troubled them for several days. Even the ship's course had been temporarily set aside. After all, the Rex was currently one of the most advanced ships in the world, and its crew was made up of monsters in their own right.

Yet, despite their strength, they had been racking their brains for days—struggling to find an answer that would satisfy everyone.

Unfortunately, no one had come up with the perfect solution.

"How about Bu Nuo? It sounds like a strong, handsome name!"

Eli, his brows previously furrowed, suddenly brightened up. He raised his hand slightly, voicing the name he had been thinking about for a long time.

The others began whispering among themselves.

"It doesn't sound bad… but it's not exactly masculine either," Tony said, closing the book he had been reading.

The others nodded in agreement.

Yes—this was the issue they had been struggling with for days: naming the children.

The crew had been throwing out various names, but none of them felt right.

"That's right! My nephews deserve names that carry weight. How can something so soft-sounding suit them?"

Brad, one of Caesar's earliest comrades, spoke up seriously. He cared for these two children deeply, almost to the point of obsession.

He had already thought up over a hundred names, yet he had rejected nearly all of them himself.

None of them, in his mind, were worthy of these two boys.

"I agree," Lily, the mother of the children, finally spoke. "As the son of Caesar and I, he is no ordinary child."

Caesar was now one of the strongest figures in the world. The chances of his children inheriting Haoshoku Haki (Conqueror's Haki) were high—very high.

Not only that, but given their lineage, they would likely inherit a strong soul and mental fortitude, something crucial for mastering powerful Haki and Devil Fruits.

Caesar was confident in his own strength and willpower, and he expected no less from his children.

"Then… what about Dorian?"

After a brief silence, Genali—one of the more serious members of the crew—spoke up. He had been carefully considering this matter from the very beginning and was finally satisfied with a name.

The crew fell into deep thought.

"Hmm… It's better than Eli's suggestion," someone admitted.

"It's decent," Hades said, stroking his chin.

As a fish-man, Hades had a different perspective on naming conventions, but even he could tell this name was at least better than the previous ones.

Still, after days of deliberation, everyone's minds were exhausted.

Caesar had been listening quietly all this time. Seeing their frustration, he finally coughed twice and said:

"How about Carlos and Lucius?"

As soon as he spoke, the previously tense atmosphere suddenly brightened.

It was as if they had finally found the answer—the missing piece of the puzzle.

The names suggested earlier had all felt lacking in some way. Either they didn't fit the children's temperament, or they weren't grand enough.

But as soon as Caesar said these two names, they clicked perfectly.

Like pieces of a puzzle falling into place.

"Of course, the Captain would come up with the best names!"

Lily walked over to the children with a bright smile, looking at the sleeping infants in their swaddles. "Do you two like the names your father gave you?"

"Boss, you're surprisingly good at naming!"

"Yo ho ho ho! Caesar, you should have just named them from the start!"

No one objected. The names fit perfectly.

Caesar had thought long and hard, even drawing from memories before his time in this world, before deciding on them.

"Since there are no objections, it's settled!"

"Lily's son was born first, so he will be the eldest son—Carlos."

"And Wei Na's son, naturally, will be the second son—Lucius."

And with that, after days of deliberation, the names were finally decided.

A weight had been lifted off their shoulders.

"By the way, what do these names mean?"

"Yeah, Boss, tell us!"

Caesar smirked. "One means 'King.' The other means 'Emperor.' It represents my expectations for them."

Wei Na, coming from an aristocratic background, immediately understood. "Of course. A fitting choice."

With that, it was decided.

As for their surname, Caesar had long made his decision. From this day forward, his family name would be passed down, forging the strongest lineage in the world.

Thus, the full names of the children were: Caesar Carlos and Caesar Lucius.

Two days later.

Regina's due date was approaching, but it seemed the child was eager to see the world early.

After enduring labor pains, Regina—being a highly skilled doctor herself—calmly entered the delivery room.

Despite the lack of professional midwives, many crew members had experience assisting in childbirth.

As for Caesar?

Compared to the first two times, he was much calmer now.

Before long, a baby's first cries echoed through the ship.

Outside the waiting room, the crew eagerly awaited the arrival of the newest member of their family.

Regina, though pale, emerged with a proud smile. The maternal glow surrounding her was undeniable.

"It's a girl."

Caesar's expectant eyes sparkled. He didn't need to say anything—Regina knew exactly what he wanted to hear.

"Really?"

"Fantastic! A little princess!"

Caesar's joy was boundless. He had hoped for a daughter, and now, he had both sons and a daughter.

He had prepared the name long ago.

Walking up to Regina, he gently embraced her, then looked at his newborn daughter and said:

"Little one, your name is Alice. Caesar Alice—my little princess. Haha!"

Each of his children's names carried deep meaning and blessings.

"Oh!"

"Three children, three names—all decided. Let's throw a banquet tonight!"

"Congratulations, Captain!"

"Man, I wish I had a daughter too…"

The crew cheered. But Caesar paid no attention to their words. His gaze remained fixed on the tiny bundle in Regina's arms.

The newborn, as if sensing her father's presence, smiled—a toothless, innocent smile. She reached out her little arms toward Caesar.

Even as a newborn, she was extraordinary.

Her birth brought new warmth to the Caesar Pirates.

And with that, a new chapter began.
