Ah Le was about to retort when suddenly another voice came through the phone:
"Hold on, Black Mamba, don't be so rude to our guest. Pass the phone to me."
The tone wasn't high but carried a chilling penetration.
With a faint sound, the commotion in the receiver instantly calmed down, evidently indicating someone else had taken over.
In its place was a gentle and magnetic male voice:
"Good evening, Mr. Ah Le. Calling at this time means you must be a loyal subordinate."
This voice was very soft, like a slippery venomous snake, crawling into Ah Le's ear through the radio waves.
"In our line of work, I really admire hard-hitters like you who value loyalty. Not just you, I genuinely treat those brothers of mine as well."
"Since we're all on the same side, let's not beat around the bush."
The person paused for a moment, an enticing persuasion evident in his tone:
