Chapter 150 - Ch 150 : Mira vs. Ophelia 2

In her Satan Soul form, Mira flapped her demonic wings, weaving rapidly through the corridors of the Western Tower.

She changed directions at high speed, never staying in one spot for more than two seconds.

Meanwhile, the relentless explosions behind her served as a constant reminder—if she didn't come up with a solution soon, she would eventually be caught by the chain of detonations and shot down.

(With this level of destructive power… If not for the necklace, a single direct hit would leave me gravely injured...) Mira thought, her expression growing tense.

"Impressive mobility."

Floating behind her, seemingly defying gravity, Ophelia trailed at a slightly slower speed.

She shook her head helplessly.

Mira's Satan Soul form far outmatched Ophelia in maneuverability.

In an open battlefield, no matter how fast Mira moved, it would have been nearly impossible for her to evade [Mental Combustion].

However, in this narrow and winding corridor, the threat of Ophelia's attack had been drastically reduced.

"This can't go on," Ophelia murmured to herself.

If things continued like this, the battle would turn into a war of attrition.

And in a prolonged fight, Mira had the advantage—Ophelia, on the other hand, could not afford to drag this out.

"This is the way to do it."

Ophelia nodded slightly, then slowly closed her eyes and murmured, "[Mental Foresight]".

As she shut her eyes, it was as if she had sunk into a vast black void.

But the darkness was only temporary—within an instant, it felt as though she had traversed countless spaces and timelines.

She "saw" it—Mira's movements over the next few minutes, her continuous flight, every minute action captured with perfect clarity.

The image grew increasingly three-dimensional, the perspective widening, until Mira's precise flight path was projected flawlessly into Ophelia's mind.

"Three seconds from now, she will turn left."

And as if responding to Ophelia's prediction, Mira suddenly veered left, darting into another corridor.

"There's no mistake… Mirajane, your future is already in my grasp."

Ophelia opened her eyes, a confident smile slowly curving at the corners of her lips.

.............

"Strange… she's gone?"

At a fork in the corridor, Mira stopped, frowning as she glanced back the way she came.

From just a moment ago, there had been no more explosions, and Ophelia, who had been trailing far behind, had vanished without a trace.

(No… she's not the kind of person to give up so easily. She must be planning something.) Mira thought to herself.

Whoosh—

A sharp sound of air being torn apart suddenly rang out.

Before Mira could react, a semi-transparent barrier appeared at both the passage behind her and one of the corridor exits, sealing off her escape.

The only remaining open path carried a calm, indifferent voice:

"Just as I foresaw… exactly the same as in my vision. Now, you have nowhere left to run, do you?"

Mira narrowed her eyes slightly as she watched Ophelia step forward, stopping just a short distance away.

"You took another route to get ahead of me—I can understand that. But before that… how did you know which path I would take?"

"I told you already," Ophelia said coldly. "This is exactly as I foresaw."

"And I have no obligation to explain it to you. Just accept your defeat, Mirajane—[Mental Combustion]."

Boom!

The blue barrier from Mira's necklace flared to life once again, blocking the explosion before it could reach her.

However, even with the protection, the sheer force of the blast sent her flying several meters backward.

"Just as I thought…" Ophelia narrowed her eyes. "Even if you can avoid direct damage, the impact force still affects you."

Mira let out a bitter chuckle, her expression growing increasingly serious.

She knew that with her escape routes completely blocked, the only option left was to defeat her opponent.

(If there's a cliff behind me, then the only path forward is to fight my way through.)

"[Demonic Burst]."

Mira murmured softly as her immense magical power surged and gathered.

Black energy began coiling around her body, compressing to its peak before violently erupting like a geyser, rushing toward Ophelia in an overwhelming wave.

Ophelia's expression remained unchanged.

"[Mental Barrier]."

Once again, a transparent barrier formed in front of her, effortlessly blocking [Demonic Burst] from advancing any further.

However, Mira had already charged forward, her magic-infused claws reaching straight for Ophelia.

Ophelia let out a soft chuckle, her floating body drifting backward as she extended a finger.

"[Mental Shockwave]."

Ripples filled with destructive energy surged from Ophelia's fingertip.

At such close range, Mira had no time to dodge.

She could only rely on the blue barrier to withstand the relentless waves.

Explosions continuously crashed against the shimmering shield, gradually thinning its protective layer.

The sheer force pushed Mira backward until she was pressed against the semi-transparent membrane sealing off the passage.

Mira raised a hand, tearing through the residual explosions and smoke, dissipating them into raw magic.

In her other hand, a black energy sphere began to condense.

"[Soul Annihilator]."

The sphere, radiating an immense dark aura, shot forward at incredible speed.

Even just brushing against the air, it caused violent ripples and distortions, its overwhelming energy making the surrounding stone walls tremble and crack.

"So this is your strongest attack?" Ophelia shook her head.

"[Mental Detonation]."

Boom!

A massive explosion echoed throughout the entire West Tower, the force shaking the underground structure itself.

Cracks spread across the passage walls, and debris rained down from above, kicking up thick clouds of dust.

"Did it work?" Mira steadied herself, taking a deep breath as she peered ahead.

The thick dust obscured her vision, making it impossible to see the outcome.

"I underestimated you a little… but in the end, this is all you amount to."

The voice sent a chill through Mira's breath.

As the dust gradually settled, Ophelia stood calmly before her.

Her once immaculate clothing was now slightly disheveled—her right sleeve had been completely torn off, revealing a faint magical burn on her arm.

"How is that possible…?" Mira stared in disbelief.

That last attack had been nearly her strongest, yet Ophelia, who took it head-on, had only suffered a minor wound—one so insignificant that it wouldn't even affect her combat ability.

It was a heavy blow to Mira's confidence.

"Anyone who reaches the rank of S-Class Mage isn't someone to be taken lightly. And Fairy Tail's S-Class Mages… they surpass the standard of ordinary guilds' S-Class Mages. I was careless."

A hint of frustration flickered across Ophelia's face, as if annoyed at her own oversight.

But that frustration lasted only a moment before her expression returned to calm neutrality.

"But this is truly the end. As a sign of respect, I'll finish this with my strongest attack."

As she spoke, Ophelia brought her hands together, and an overwhelming surge of magical energy gathered between them.

The sheer force of the gathering power stirred up a violent gust, making it difficult for Mira to even keep her eyes open.

A massive blue magic circle had appeared behind Ophelia, radiating terrifying energy.

Suddenly, Ophelia's body stiffened, and the overwhelming magic she had been gathering gradually dissipated.

"Garlos… is what you said true?" Ophelia murmured softly.

Mira was momentarily stunned but quickly realized—Ophelia was using mental magic to communicate with someone.

"Return immediately?" A hesitant expression crossed Ophelia's face.

"But my mission isn't… Abandon the mission? …I understand. Since it's an order."

It seemed the communication had ended.

Ophelia sighed, looking at Mira with a hint of resignation.

"The battle ends here. I have urgent matters to attend to. Mirajane, I won't forget you. Next time, we'll settle this properly."

"Wait—"

Before Mira could say anything, Ophelia suddenly reached out and crushed a gemstone in her hand.

As the gem shattered, a black spatial gate, shaped like a doorway, appeared behind her and began pulling her in.

"In the near future, when destruction arrives… I hope we meet again in battle, Mirajane. But before that—do your best to survive."

With those cryptic words, Ophelia was completely drawn into the dark portal.

The gateway then collapsed in on itself and vanished without a trace.

Mira could only stand there, staring blankly at the scene that had just unfolded.
