"What?" Agatha replied, her breath uneven. Christian's gaze dropped from her eyes to her lips. Her heart skipped, and without thinking, she bit her bottom lip. She wasn't sure what she saw in his expression, but it was different — something she had never seen before. He reached out, tracing her lips with his finger, stopping her from biting them.
He swallowed hard and looked back into her eyes."What are you doing, Pony?"
"My name is Agatha," she said quietly, holding his gaze. Every part of her body felt like it was betraying her, aching to give in and fall into his arms. But somewhere in her mind, a stubborn voice kept reminding her of how much she disliked him and how badly she wanted to return to her old life.
"Agatha," he murmured in a deep, low voice. The way he said her name twisted her stomach and left her heart blank for a moment. No one had ever called her name like that before.
