Chapter 95 - Chapter 94 : Chunin Exams With Sannin

The Konoha Jōnin leading the exam sighed deeply, watching the scene before him with an exasperated expression. Finally, his gaze settled on the three apprentices of the Third Hokage—Jiraiya, Tsunade, and Orochimaru.

"Since so many candidates are unable to continue, the first exam is officially void!" he announced. "Everyone, head directly to Training Ground 44!"

As the crowd moved, Jiraiya gritted his teeth and glared at Naruto. "Damn it, brat! You had the nerve to say that I attract hatred? Look at all those eyes full of murderous intent aimed at us!"

Naruto shrugged nonchalantly. "This was inevitable anyway. Might as well cut to the chase."

Tsunade and Orochimaru didn't even bother to comment, their expressions remaining neutral.

By the time they reached the training ground, the next proctor was already waiting. He stood on the stage, his voice cold and emotionless as he addressed the crowd.

"There are no rules in this exam."

"Nani?!" A wave of shock rippled through the genin.

"All you need to do is survive for three days and return to the meeting point. Out of all of you here, only one hundred will pass."

The murmuring in the crowd grew louder, but the proctor continued, his tone unwavering.

"However, that's not enough. Every participant must also possess a forehead protector by the end of the exam."

A tense silence fell over the group. Everyone understood what that meant. A forehead protector wasn't just an accessory—it was proof of one's identity as a shinobi, something often regarded as more valuable than life itself.

"If you're afraid of dying, quit now," the examiner added, his smirk practically daring someone to back out.

Nobody moved.

"Good. Then... BEGIN!"

With a flurry of movement, the genin scattered, disappearing into the dense forest. Ambush was the safest strategy in an unknown battlefield.

Jiraiya, Orochimaru, and Tsunade followed Naruto deeper into the woods.

"Yawn~"

Naruto stretched lazily as he walked. "Man, this era's shinobi really lack strategic depth. No team formations, no tactical positioning—just a bunch of people trying to kill each other in the messiest way possible."

Jiraiya shot him an annoyed glance. "You're talking like an old man again."

Suddenly, kunai flew out from the trees, aimed directly at them.

The four immediately split, dodging with precision before regrouping. Their eyes snapped to the source—three figures emerging from the undergrowth, their Konoha forehead protectors gleaming.

A smirk twisted the lips of the Uchiha Cannon Fodder, an Uchiha. "Hand over your forehead protectors. Now."

Jiraiya scoffed. "Are you an idiot? You skipped the shinobi from other villages and decided to pick a fight with us first?"

The Uchiha Cannon Fodder sneered. "Don't worry, I'll deal with them after I finish you off. My team will be the only ones passing this exam."

Jiraiya's brow twitched. "Bastard!"

His teammates exchanged a glance, coming to a silent agreement.

Orochimaru acted first, summoning a snake that lunged at the Uchiha leader. At the same time, Tsunade hurled a rock at his two teammates.

Jiraiya followed up, launching a flurry of kunai before forming quick hand seals. "Fire Release: Flame Bullet!"

He spat a stream of oil, igniting it with fire, sending a roaring inferno toward the enemy team.

Naruto, meanwhile, stood off to the side, barely paying attention.

The Uchiha Cannon Fodder clicked his tongue. "Tch. I was going to let you live, but now you've pissed me off!"

His Sharingan activated, the two-tomoe pattern swirling in his irises. His hands moved in a blur. "Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique!"

A massive fireball erupted from his mouth, colliding with Jiraiya's flames in an explosion of heat.

His teammates weren't idle either—one slashed through Orochimaru's snake with a kunai, while the other leaped away from Tsunade's projectile.

Naruto finally moved. He vanished and reappeared behind one of the Uchiha, slamming a foot into his ribs. "Leaf Shadow Dance."

The Uchiha was sent flying into the air, and before he could react, Naruto appeared above him and delivered a vicious kick to his stomach, sending him crashing into the ground.

He didn't get back up.

Jiraiya grinned. "Nice one, Naruto!"

The Uchiha Cannon Fodder expression darkened. "Who the hell are you?"

Naruto grinned. "Just an ordinary genin."

The Uchiha Cannon Fodderclenched his jaw, then grabbed his remaining teammate. "Damn it. Retreat!"

He abandoned his unconscious comrade and disappeared into the forest.

Naruto bent down, prying the forehead protector off the fallen Uchiha. "Mission complete."

The Sannin trio stared at him.

"What?" Naruto rolled his eyes. "People are greedy these days. If you don't take, someone else will."

The trio didn't know what to say.

"Anyway, we need more forehead protectors if we want to pass," Naruto said, stretching. "I say we clear the field."

Tsunade frowned. "Clear the field?"

"Yeah. The Chūnin Exams are just a glorified spectacle, a way for villages to flex their strength in front of potential clients. Instead of letting Konoha be paraded around like a circus act, we might as well wipe out all the competition early. That way, Konoha still looks strong, and we don't have to put on a show."

Jiraiya slapped his leg. "Hell yeah! No one shines brighter than me!"

Naruto nodded. "First, we need to find our targets. Any of you have sensory abilities?"

The three shook their heads.

"Figures. What about Shadow Clones?"

More silence.

Naruto sighed. "Useless. Fine, we'll do it my way."

He formed a hand seal. "Wind Release: Great Breakthrough!"

A howling gale tore through the forest, ripping trees from their roots and exposing the ground.

The three stared, horrified. "WHAT THE HELL?!"

Orochimaru hesitated. "Isn't that jutsu supposed to be seal-less?"

Naruto coughed. "Don't sweat the details."

Before they could respond, mist began to rise, thick and suffocating.

Orochimaru's eyes narrowed. "Mist concealment technique. This is a Mist Village assassin's jutsu."

The four stood back to back as a voice echoed through the fog. "We heard your little plan. Wiping out the competition? You arrogant brats."

The voice chuckled. "In this mist, you are nothing but lambs to the slaughter. We will silence you before you even know what happened."

Naruto smirked. "Wind Release: Typhoon Burst."

A powerful vortex erupted from him, dispersing the mist in seconds.

The Mist ninja lay sprawled out, blinking in shock.

Naruto grinned. "Well, that was embarrassing."
