When I woke up, I was faced with a scene I never imagined. I was lying in my bed, with a hospital machine beside me, and a small rune floating around it.
Varian was asleep in a nearby chair.
It left me confused. The vision I had was too quick, but my body felt like it had been unconscious for weeks. When I tried to get up, my legs were so weak I could barely stand.
"Drayk… you're awake," said Varian, her eyes misty.
"How long was I unconscious?" I asked.
"Two days," she replied, getting up to help me lie back down.
"Damn... feels like I've been lying down for weeks. My body's way too weak," I complained.
"The doctor said there was something wrong with your energy… it seemed like it was being drained. That's why you had to stay in the hospital with the help of that machine," she said, pointing at the device beside me.
"So I still need to use this?"
"Yes. At least for a week. The shock was too much."
