Chapter 52 - Cheap

Knowing that she had finally taken the first few steps towards getting stronger, Astra had exited the living room with a little pep in her step despite her mixed feelings.

With the semi-transparent violet barrier sliding open, Astra entered the hexagonal study as the pale blue ball of light entered with her, staying by her side.

She approached the central floating desk that was illuminated by the artificial nebulae and stars. Staring at the digital interface displayed on the desk, she made the walls turn into purple holographic projections with a thought.

On the holographic projections were lines of text, photos and some videos.

Holding her hand to her mouth, she lifted her head to look at the information that was displayed over the walls.

This information was the news—specifically news about the people from her Earth that got transported to this one.

The Royal Family's Orphean Highest Order has found the reason for the strange appearances of the aliens!

The President will speak on this matter at 9 AM Morphean Time.

The Representative for the Highest Order, Archon Somus, has just announced that they have found the reason for the appearance of billions of people on our planet.

It was rumored to be from mysterious gods, but it may involve the actions of the Fifth Dimension!

Nytheris has already denied such accusations and will be putting out their own statement at 10 AM Morphean Time.

Astra's gaze intensified as she read through the rest of the wall of information, the faint sounds of various news reports echoing behind her.

"The Fifth Dimension…it has to be referring to the official Fifth Dimension, Memory and Time Divergence. And it seems like Lucian has already informed the government…"

"The only question is, why is he putting the blame on the official Fifth Dimension instead of the First Dimension, which actually caused the event?"

"I can come up with three possibilities."

"One. He is putting the blame on the Fifth—no, Sixth Dimension in order to cover up the fact that the event was caused by the actions of those from the First Dimension. This could be because of the fact that he is working with Kayla, or it could be that something happened between Zephyr and Morpheus that strained relations between them. In that case, it would make that conflict between Zephyr and Sentaia a lot more complicated. It's totally possible that Morpheus had intentionally set up the conflict between both countries, only to reap the rewards from both…"

"At the same time, it could be a mix of both of those reasons. This would add another layer to Lucian's involvement with Kayla."

"Two. The Sixth Dimension actually was involved with the event. It's pretty clear that the existences from the First Dimension were the ones who pulled the trigger, but that doesn't mean that other Dimensions weren't involved or were a catalyst, like the Sixth. Just going based off of descriptions and authorities, the Sixth and First have a lot of similarities. I wouldn't be surprised if they worked together."

Astra rubbed her temples as her eyebrows creased. She thought, but again she didn't allow a mental image to form in her head, lest something horrifying happen to her.

"Though the thing is…why would the Sixth work with the First? Wouldn't it be risky especially since the other Demigods know what the existence of the First Dimension is trying to do? Judging by Nytheris' reaction, I doubt they want to be under scrutiny of the other Demigods…but at the same time I also doubt they would be sloppy enough to allow themselves to be revealed like that."

"Did the Demigoddess of the First and the Demigoddess of the Sixth have some bad blood between them? Or could it be that the Demigoddess of the Sixth Dimension was tricked, and that they were merely used for that existence's plan?"

"There's too many variables and not enough information."

Astra's face relaxed as she thought about the last possibility.

"Third. Lucian—or someone else—actually believes that the Sixth Dimension caused the event. In this case, they were the ones that were tricked by the Sixth Dimension, and the Demigoddess of the Sixth is trying to cover up for the First Dimension. I think that this is the least likely one, since I doubt it's in the Sixth's best interest."

Astra sighed as she finished her second of thinking.

"Either way, the Royal's choosing of the Sixth Dimension as the blame for this event points to a connection between that dimension and the First."

"Given that they both appear to govern time, could it be that we were 'pulled' into a different, alternate timeline? It makes sense, considering that the hologram which first appeared when we came here mentioned a 'better Earth'."

"It also explains the amount of similarities this Earth and the previous Earth have, including the various naming schemes…"

"If that's the case, then this almost confirms the Multiverse. Particularly, this would be a Type IV Multiverse described by Max Tegmark. Hehe, as for the Many Worlds Interpretation, it seems to branch off from the Dimension of Possibility. Could that be where quantum fluctuations come from…?"

Astra chuckled. She felt like she was finally in her element as she held a soft smile.

For the first time, she was fondly reminiscent of the times she had back on her Earth.

However, she returned to her usual poker face after a monotone, rehearsed voice echoed behind her.

It was a reporter's voice, and it broke the imaginary silence that Astra was in. It was as if reality had finally dawned on her, placing on her the weight of responsibility.

"Over 200 million aliens captured in Morpheus as more than 1.3 billion of them were captured worldwide. The other 8 billion's locations are still unknown, though it is rumored that around 2-3 billion of them could have died the moment they arrived. With that being said, let's hear what the incumbent President of Oneris has to say about it as the 9998 elections are-"

With a thought, Astra immediately turned off the video that was playing behind her.

"Tsk."

"Right. I can't get too distracted. I still have to understand many things…"

After expressing her frustration, she immediately composed herself. She then searched 'The Dimension of Science and Physics in Luna' on the large holographic display.

After searching, she went on the official website of the main organization that worships this Dimension—Parallax of the Rising Stars. It was very well made; it had a beautiful night sky aesthetic and smooth transitions that resembled the movements of celestial bodies.

As she read the website, she noticed that the pages contained a lot of history regarding the true First Dimension and the Goddess that ruled over it.

Her eyes darted across the projection at rapid speeds as the violet light that illuminated her face slowly got brighter and brighter. The pale blue ball of light continued to stay by her side, however it was almost overpowered by the increasing brightness of the faint violet light.

"Have you noticed that the classical six dimensions have no description of such an important aspect of reality—science…"

"That is because there is another dimension, the true First Dimension. It is a dimension that had its knowledge lost to time and covered up by the Holy Hexagon…"

"It rules over all concepts of science and physics. The other Dimension's Gods have prevented it from spreading for eons…"

"The reason why is because our Goddess—the Goddess of the First Dimension has been planning on saving all of humanity from the Apocalypse. An event that the Gods from the other Dimensions cannot save you from!"

"Worship the Night Sky, the Goddess!"

Astra sighed as she recollected her memory.

"This complicates things. The Demigods banded together to drive out the mysterious forces prevalent in the Chaotic and Transitional Eon. If they also worked together against the Demigoddess, then that also places her under the 'mysterious beings' category."

"If that's true, then there's no wonder why James said the Dominions immediately tried to give this the 'mysterious God' label."

Astra's lips curled up as she noticed something off about this telling of history.

"Yes, that's if this is true regarding the Demigoddess. Knowing what I know, it could very likely be referring to a certain existence that suddenly rose to power from the First Dimension; de facto making this description apply to them."

As she surfed through the website, she found things giving information about Science and Physics and how such things can't be explained by natural processes alone. She also found videos and photos of various people in pitch black trench coats with white spots, worshipping the night sky in various places.

Furthermore, she even found a list of moral laws and rules for worshippers to follow in a book called the Cosmic Codex—a piece of text followed and revered by the Parallax of the Rising Stars and its followers.

Though, despite all of this, there was not a single mention of a Demigod/Demigoddess…unlike the other Dimensions that have their websites for their worshippers.

"Heh, I wonder why this website doesn't mention the Demigod, or rather, the Demigoddess?"

"I guess they're preparing for a moment to put that information in, aren't they?"

As if she was teasing, she let out a soft giggle as she decided on a strategy.

As such, she decided to search for the main headquarters on the website.

The main headquarters were in Luna, at 303 Noctis Avenue. It was on the outskirts of the intercity, around one hundred kilometers from where Astra currently was.

She instantly memorized the information and closed the page, having no further thoughts about the First Dimension and its abnormalities.

"Now then."

"Let's go onto the next thing…"

Using just her mind, she searched up the words:

'Comet Helene and Planet Atlantis'.

She got varying results, but since the website regarding Atlantis was the first one that popped up, she went on that instead.

The website reflected the vibes given by a planet called Atlantis. It was water themed as its corners were brandished by ancient and technological bronze patterns. There was even a 3D projection option which would create a hologram simulating the effects of the planet Atlantis in the comfort of your own home.

Astra wasn't too concerned about that. Instead, she just searched for the location of this planet.

In searching for the location, she saw that Atlantis was a water world that was about the size of the previous Earth. It has a yellow sun named Solaris, and it has no moon.

The planet consists mainly of mermaids that—strangely enough—don't live in the oceans of the planet. The reason why wasn't given on the website.

Furthermore, this mermaid civilization is a matriarchal society that rests in the skies—propped up by large ancient buildings that seem to be governed by magic. In a way, it is a water world and a sky world at the same time. Because of how fantastical this world was, it has a booming tourist industry with hundreds of thousands of visitors per Atlantis year, which was 160 days.

Atlantis rested almost two thousand light years from Earth, in the Southern Section of the Galaxy. It was in the Pisces Section, which was in the Third Arm of the galaxy.

Her eyes scanned the screen as she rapidly processed the information about Atlantis.

Suddenly, they stopped as she finally looked at the means to get there, and the price.

"You can get there by a starship at any major spaceport at the cheap price of 100,000 Veylars."

She reread the sentence again, her eyes fixated on the word cheap.

With a stoned face, she immediately closed the window, staring at the holographic projection for no less than half a minute.
