Rael tilted his head. "No, I know that. I'm just curious why you morphed into her."
The shadow, which now looked like Solenne's child form, furrowed its brows and extended its hand.
"Give me back my core."
"I'll have to pass," Rael replied with a hum. "You see... I was under the impression that you were just going to disappear after I absorbed your powers."
"I, Solenne's shadow, have disappeared," the shadow stated, putting a hand over her chest. "But... Due to what you've done, I am now your shadow. The only form I know is that of Solenne. That's why I look like this."
"So what now?" Rael asked. "Your loyalty still lies with Solenne, doesn't it? Any tips and tricks on how I could get rid of you for good?"
The shadow smiled.
"Just ask those people inside your mind for answers. As for me, my loyalty to Solenne vanished the moment I became your shadow."
