Chapter 72: Time Patrol Squad, Battle Against the Dark King
"Tsk..." Lin Qi glanced at the fighters. These Demon Gods didn't seem to be doing very well.
Although each of them had encountered an opponent of roughly equal strength, the situation was similar to the original storyline.
Chronoa had already broken through their defenses and was heading straight for the Dark Shenron.
Chamel and Towa were also locked in battle. The two had clashed several times before, and each time it ended in a stalemate.
Super Saiyan 4 Goku was doing okay, but he was up against the strongest subordinate of Mechikabura, Demon God Salsa! This battle didn't seem very promising.

With Trunks gone, the pressure on Goten increased significantly, and he was struggling to keep up.
"Dammit... You're not getting away!!" Dabura flew back up from below, attempting to chase after Trunks.
But Goten wasn't about to let that happen. He launched a ki blast at Dabura. "Your opponent is me!"
"Tsk..." Vegeta wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth and glared angrily at Putine.
"A woman should act like a woman. What's the point of hiding and swinging a stick around..."
"Heehee, it's still better than being a brainless musclehead like you!"
Putine stuck out her tongue playfully. Her staff danced again, releasing a torrent of dark energy that chased after Vegeta.
Vegeta dodged frantically, wary of the energy that had already caused him trouble before. Cold sweat trickled down his forehead, and his breathing grew increasingly labored.
Bang!
Goku swung a punch at Salsa, but it was blocked. Salsa even countered by grabbing Goku's arm and throwing him away.
"You're strong..." Goku halted himself mid-air and looked at Salsa with excitement.
Salsa grinned coldly. "People usually say that about me!"
He openly acknowledged it!
With that, Salsa charged at Goku again, his staff in hand, unleashing a powerful wave of demonic energy.
Boom!
Goku didn't dare underestimate him and instantly teleported behind Salsa, kicking at him.
Salsa reacted quickly, retracting his staff and crossing his arms in front of his chest to block Goku's kick.
"Hah..." Goku glanced at Vegeta, who was struggling more and more on the other side. He increased the force of his attacks.
Goku's rapid punches forced Salsa to stay on the defensive. It wasn't that Salsa didn't want to counterattack; it was just that these warriors' physical strength was overwhelming!
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Goku's punch broke through Salsa's defense, landing squarely on his face.
Watching Salsa get sent flying, Goku quickly intercepted Vegeta, who was also being knocked back.
Vegeta collided back-first into Goku, gritting his teeth. "My energy..."
"Are you okay, Vegeta?" Goku asked, glancing over his shoulder. "Let's fuse. If we keep stalling, we won't be able to help the Supreme Kai of Time..."
"Damn it..." Vegeta clenched his fists, his face darkening. "Fine, let's do it!"
"Heh... Wishful thinking!" Salsa and Putine joined forces, raising their staffs to interrupt Vegeta and Goku's fusion attempt.
"Tsk..." Vegeta dodged in frustration and shouted at Goku, "There's no way we can fuse like this!"
"Here..." Goku suddenly tossed something shiny toward Vegeta.
Clink.
Catching the object, Vegeta looked down at the Potara earring in his hand, momentarily stunned.
"How do you have this?"
"Hehe... I asked the Supreme Kai of Time for it before we left!" Goku rubbed the back of his head sheepishly.
"Hmph, I guess you're not completely brainless after all!" Vegeta smirked, a bloodthirsty glint in his eyes as he put the earring on his left ear.
Whoosh!
The power of the Potara earrings drew Goku and Vegeta toward each other. Their bodies merged, emitting a brilliant light. Super Saiyan 4 Vegito had arrived!
"Hah!"
With lightning crackling around his feet, Vegito clenched his fists confidently and charged at Putine and Salsa.
"Let's start with you two!"
Effortlessly dodging the demonic energy, Vegito moved like a butterfly dancing through flowers, untouched by any attack.
In a flash, he appeared in front of Salsa and delivered a powerful punch.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The sounds of bodies clashing and energy exploding echoed all around. Streams of light shot past, colliding and separating repeatedly.
Meanwhile, Dabura had led Goten to the area where Gohan and Mira were fighting.
Dabura blocked a punch aimed at Mira. "Mira, go help my sister! I'll handle these two!!"
"Got it!" Mira nodded at the sight of the Gohan brothers breathing heavily, back to back. He turned and flew toward the core area.
"Seriously..." Chamel felt his divine and demonic energy growing weaker. With Mira heading over to assist Towa, his determination to retreat solidified.
This was as far as he could go. Although the plan to seize the Dragon Balls had failed, at least they had managed to prevent Mechikabura's complete resurrection.
Bang!
As Towa's magic pierced through Chamel's afterimage, she turned to Mira, who had just arrived, and reported, "Chamel ran away..."
"Forget it. Let's go stop the Supreme Kai of Time first." She didn't forget to remind the other Demon Gods, "Hurry up and eliminate these guys. Protect Lord Mechikabura!!"
