Chapter 124: Frost, A Huge Misunderstanding

Lin Qi had long since noticed that all the transactions at the stalls were made in tiny denominations—one or two coins at most.

Judging by the change being exchanged and the conversions, none of the totals exceeded ten of those coins!

"How much is that coin worth in Galactic Coins?" Lin Qi pointed at the coin still in the hands of a buyer and seller whose deal hadn't concluded.

"That's one Galactic Coin!" the leader replied with absolute confidence, arrogance practically dripping from his voice.

So a million was basically daylight robbery?

Lin Qi looked at the alien creatures barely as tall as toddlers and scoffed. "What the hell are you things? Trying to mug me?"

With a casual flick of his foot, he blasted the encroaching alien leader back using a burst of energy. Lin Qi was just about to teleport away.

But just then, that speaker-like device blared again: "Assaulting the Patrol Squad is a serious offense! Alert Lord Frost's Peacekeeping Force immediately!"

A harsh voice echoed out. Lin Qi couldn't help digging at his ear. If he heard that right… did they say Frost?

That real estate mogul from Universe 6?

The one who looks just like Frieza from Universe 7? Same race?

But that guy, despite his polite appearance and gentlemanly manners, was nothing but a two-faced, treacherous scumbag!

"Oh ho… I'd actually like to see that bastard for myself. Go ahead and call him over!"

This time, Lin Qi didn't just speak—he also unleashed a terrifying aura that made the patrol squad tremble.

"Hurry up… my time's very valuable!"

The immense pressure rippled outward, causing chaos throughout the entire market area. Stalls toppled over, and aliens were thrown off their feet.

The patrol leader struggled to crawl up from the ground, only to stare wide-eyed in shock—Lin Qi was now standing in the middle of a massive crater.

A thick killing intent blanketed the squad, making them visibly shiver.

Fortunately, Lin Qi didn't have to wait long. Perhaps Frost had been nearby, because he arrived quickly.

Within the time it takes to brew a cup of tea, a giant shadow pierced through the planet's atmosphere and descended above the market.

"Wherever there are bad guys, the Peacekeeping Force will be there!" boomed a voice from the massive spaceship overhead.

The announcement echoed across the trading district, drawing excited cheers from the aliens, not a hint of fear among them!

"Who dares stir up trouble in the market? Come forward, and let my kindness and justice redeem you!"

With those nauseating words, the ship's hatch opened. Troops poured out, followed by Frost himself.

"Mr. Frost, thank goodness you came in person to help us." The alien patrol leader that Lin Qi had blasted back earlier waddled forward, all eight arms flailing in excitement.

Frost, ever the actor, clasped one of the slime-covered limbs without changing expression. "Of course. Justice is everywhere you need it."

"Mr. Frost really is such a good person," the patrol leader beamed with joy.

"Heh heh… it was nothing at all. Wherever there are bad guys, you'll find me!" Frost declared, turning his gaze toward the crowd.

"Now then, tell me—who's the troublemaker here?"

Everyone in the market simultaneously pointed their claws, tentacles, and various appendages at Lin Qi, who stood there looking utterly unfazed.

"A Saiyan? That can't be… Our Peacekeeping Force has always cooperated with Saiyans. Is there some misunderstanding here?" Frost widened his eyes, feigning disbelief. "Saiyans, like me, have always worked tirelessly to maintain peace in the universe!"

"Heh…" Lin Qi let out a chuckle. Frost's acting really was impressive—it was no wonder he could fool the entire universe.

Maintain peace in the universe, huh?

"Dear Saiyan sir, perhaps this is all just a misunderstanding. Let's clear it up, shall we?" Frost said with a gentlemanly smile, reaching out to shake Lin Qi's hand.

Lin Qi kept his fake smile plastered on, staring at Frost without reaching out. After shaking those slimy tentacles earlier, did he really think he could gross him out too?

As Lin Qi stood still, the silence grew heavy. Frost's smile gradually stiffened. "Saiyan sir, do you… perhaps harbor hostility toward me?"

"Oh, you noticed?" Lin Qi raised an eyebrow, smirking. "I thought you'd pretend not to."

"Have I wronged you somehow, sir Saiyan? I don't believe I've ever done anything to harm another being."

Still smiling brightly, Frost continued, "I truly hope no one holds any hostility toward me. If there's an issue, feel free to speak up!"

Boom!

Lin Qi thought this guy had nothing gentlemanly about him—just a lot of annoying chatter. With another energy burst, he blasted Frost several steps back.

"Shut up already…"

"Hmm… this really doesn't look good." Frost dropped the act, his expression turning serious as he looked around at the aliens.

"Everyone, I'll buy you time—run while you still can!" Frost's righteous proclamation moved the aliens to tears.

"No! I want to stand with Lord Frost and protect peace!"

"Yeah! Let's defeat that vile Saiyan!"

"Don't say that, everyone… I'm grateful for your loyalty, but don't let my sacrifice be in vain. Escape while you still can!"

Frost's eyes glistened with emotion, his voice thick with choked-back sobs. Lin Qi couldn't help feeling irritated watching the farce.

Before Lin Qi could explode again, the aliens all reluctantly climbed into their small spacecraft and began evacuating, looking back every few steps like they were parting from a beloved friend.

Some even wiped away tears—apparently convinced Frost was about to die here.

"Alright, now that everyone's gone, Saiyan sir, let's speak plainly," Frost said, the only ones remaining being himself, his Peacekeepers…

And the lone Lin Qi, standing amid the quiet wind that kicked up the stones at his feet.

"Drop the act, Frost. You're just a filthy little scumbag—utterly shameless!"

Lin Qi looked at him with contempt, as if watching a clown performance. "Who are you trying to impress with that routine?"

"Oh? It seems there's quite the misunderstanding between us, Saiyan sir…" Frost raised his hands slowly, walking toward Lin Qi.

"There is no misunderstanding," Lin Qi replied coldly as Frost came within reach.

"Well then…" Frost slowly extended his hand again, as if for a handshake—

—but in a split second, it clenched into a fist and shot toward Lin Qi's face. A glint of light revealed the poisoned needle hidden in his arm.

"…I can't let you live!"

Boom!

Before he could even see Lin Qi move, Frost felt a crushing pain slam into his gut.
