Chapter 168 – Demon Realm Army, Lin Qi Comes to the Rescue
"This is a war started by the Demon Realm! We have to get out of here—now!" Kibito shouted, his face full of terror.
"We must summon more powerful fighters to stop this. With just the two of us, we won't be able to change anything!"
"No... I'm not leaving!" Supreme Kai Shin shook his head firmly, blasting a demon beast charging at him with an energy sphere from his palm.
He looked toward Goku and the others, who were fighting desperately, and said with unwavering conviction, "They're still fighting... they are this universe's last hope!"
"But..." Kibito was clearly against the idea. "You're the Supreme Kai! If anything happens to you, this universe is doomed!"
A battlefield is no place for debate—especially when opinions clash.
"Special Beam Cannon!"
An energy blast shot rapidly from afar and collided with another blast in the distance, causing a massive explosion as the two forces canceled each other out.

The intense shockwave instantly kicked up a dense cloud of smoke, with howling winds sweeping outward in all directions.
Kibito immediately sensed danger. He rushed in front of Supreme Kai Shin to shield him from the aftermath of the explosion.
But in the end, both of them were blown away.
"Damn it... Supreme Kai!" Piccolo had come to help, but failed to protect them in time. His face turned even greener with frustration.
As the former Guardian of Earth, he was even more concerned about the Supreme Kai than Goku and the others.

"I'm fine, Gohan!" He spun around and delivered a powerful kick to the demon beast that tried to ambush him. "Go protect the Supreme Kai! He absolutely cannot be harmed!"

"Understood..." Gohan continued to fend off the surrounding demon beasts with powerful punches and kicks, occasionally launching a few energy blasts to keep the wounded Supreme Kai Shin and Kibito safe from approaching enemies.
"Got it, Uncle Piccolo. You be careful too!"
Gohan was still capable in battle—at least against these demon beasts. But when a flash of light sliced down from above...

They were like elephants swarmed by ants, especially Goku, whose stamina was dangerously low.
In his current state—being in soul form—he couldn't eat a Senzu Bean. Even if he tried, it wouldn't work!
With his energy running low and no way to recover, Goku was now barely able to fight at full strength.
"Damn it..." Vegeta gritted his teeth as he glared at Towa, who was standing next to the black hole. Their previous combined attacks had all been deflected.

"What do we do now?" Vegeta asked as he took down a demon beast that tried to sneak up on Goku. The two stood back-to-back once again.
"We've got to find a way to destroy that portal..." Goku cast his eyes toward the black hole suspended in midair.
Vegeta scoffed dismissively. "You think I don't already know that? Spare me the obvious!"
They had tried several times already. But unless they could take out the woman standing near the black hole, they couldn't destroy it.
Even if they wanted to, they simply didn't have the strength right now.
Vegeta was already mostly drained, and Goku was utterly exhausted—gasping for breath, barely holding on through sheer willpower.
"Damn it... why is Lin Qi not here right when we need him?!" Vegeta growled, smashing a charging demon beast with one punch.
"Kakarot, what about your Instant Transmission? Can you bring him back?!"
"No... I can't sense his energy at all!" Goku panted heavily.

Thick smoke rose as explosions echoed through the battlefield. War raged everywhere, with energy blasts detonating, rubble flying, and hurricane-force winds sweeping through.

The only one still gleeful in this bleak scene was Babidi, watching the giant egg about to overflow with energy. He was dancing with joy.
