DIANA
We were driving home, but I couldn't stop crying. Sobs wracked my body as I looked ahead at the busy, lit-up streets, people jostling around, vehicles speeding away, like a normal New York night.
"I don't want to go home," I said, choking on my words because of the tears.
"Are you sure?" Antonio asked.
I nodded, wiping a fat tear that rolled down my cheek.
"Okay."
At the next turning, he took a U-turn and we zoomed off in the direction from which we came. My heart raced in nervousness as the weight of my spontaneous decision settled on my shoulders.
I had never been out of the mansion without a family member, after my life turned upside down. I was barely out of the mansion.
But tonight, I somehow trusted a stranger and decided to go with him, somewhere unknown, without informing my family.
But I was upset. At Dom. How could he speak to me like that? I didn't want to face him right now.
