Third Person's POV.
The meeting room in the luxurious hotel,
bathed in the cool light filtering through the city skyline would've felt intimidating to anyone else but not to Percy. He sat at the head of the polished mahogany table, radiating an intense focus that bordered on ruthlessness that can only be seen in a seasoned businessman. Across from him sat Renee Gunnar, poised and impeccably professional, and two senior lawyers from his father's law firm—a strategic move that afforded Percy both legal expertise and a layer of familial buffer against his mother.
This meeting would be Percy's final act of stepping out of his mother's shadow. It's not just him gaining freedom; it's about strategically replacing himself with a capable executive so his Mother has no pretext to demand his return.
Thank goodness Percy was thorough with his contract when he began working with his mother.
His mother had allowed a clause she thought he would never invoke. And now, Renee is the key to invoking that very clause. She's competent enough to run the creative division, which keeps his Mother focused on the company, not on his personal life. He needs every detail sealed tight by his Dad's best people. No sentiment. Only strategy. Once this is done, the fight with his Mother will start, but he'll be standing on his own ground, not hers.
"We have prepared the necessary documents outlining the transition of the Creative Director's role," one of the lawyers stated, his voice calm and precise. "This agreement confirms Ms. Gunnar's immediate appointment to the position, and simultaneously formalizes Mr. Morre's immediate resignation from the company, effective upon signing. This allows him to fully focus on his new venture without conflict of interest."
Renee nodded, her gaze meeting Percy's—a purely professional acknowledgment.
"I'm ready to step in. The Creative Division needs fresh direction, and I'm eager to provide it. I understand this transition is crucial for both Morre Holdings, and for Percy's future."
"It is," Percy confirmed, his voice calm and authoritative. "Renee has my full endorsement. I trust her judgment completely. We need to ensure that my Mother receives this transition plan as a seamless promotion of talent, rather than desertion."
The final signatures were affixed with decisive strokes, sealing the corporate takeover. Percy closed his pen with a sharp click, feeling a powerful, exhilarating sense of freedom. His career strings had been cut. He was officially charting his own course, independent of his mother's empire.
"Thank you, everyone," Percy said, offering a curt, professional nod. "I look forward to discussing the future with you both. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a very important appointment."
He left the meeting feeling lighter than he had in years, the crushing weight of his mother's expectations finally lifted. His mind immediately went to Gemini. The time for strategy was over; the time for celebration had begun.
Percy arrived back at the apartment promptly at six-thirty. Gemini was already showered and dressed, pacing the living room with an adorable mix of anticipation and anxiety.
"You're late!" Gemini accused playfully, though his eyes sparkled with excitement. "What happened? Did the meeting go okay? Did Renee take the job?"
Percy walked over, pulled him into a satisfying hug, and kissed him deeply, savoring the taste of mint.
"The meeting went perfectly. The contract is signed, my resignation is filed, and Renee is the new Creative Director for Morre Holdings. It's done, Bunny. I'm free."
Gemini gasped, pulling back slightly to look at him, genuine joy lighting his face. "Percy! That's incredible! I'm so proud of you!"
"Don't say that yet until you see what I have planned for tonight," Percy corrected, tapping his nose. "Now, enough small talks. You need to put this on."
Percy walked over to the closet and pulled out a small, plush box containing a blindfold made of smooth, dark silk.
"A blindfold?" Gemini asked, a surprised laugh escaping him. "Are we going on a date, or robbing a bank?"
"The idea of doing both actually sounds exciting." Percy teased. "But no, this is a big surprise. I need your eyes closed until the moment of truth. Come here."
Gemini submitted immediately, closing his eyes as Percy gently tied the silk over them, the soft material blocking out all light. Percy's hands were warm and guiding, easing him into his coat and then leading him out of the apartment.
They drove for about twenty minutes. When the car finally stopped, Percy was instantly at Gemini's door, opening it and helping him out. Gemini was guided into an elevator, ascending what felt like dozens of stories.
When they stepped out, Gemini could immediately sense a change in atmosphere. He could smell the refined scent of expensive perfumes, the faint aroma of fine dining, and the crisp, cool air of the evening. He heard soft, instrumental music playing—not elevator Muzak, but something richer and more intimate.
Percy stopped him and reached up to undo the silk. "Ready, Bunny? You can't see the venue until you see the view."
"More than ready," Gemini whispered, holding his breath.
Percy untied the knot and gently removed the blindfold.
Gemini blinked rapidly, letting his eyes adjust to the soft, warm light. He gasped—not loudly, but a soft, internal sound of awe.
They were standing on the rooftop of a magnificent, modern tower. It was the newly opened luxurious restaurant everyone in the city had been talking about, The Zenith. But it wasn't just a table; the entire sprawling rooftop had been cleared and decorated exclusively for them.
White linen draped a single, beautifully set table centered under a trellis laced with fairy lights. The vast space felt like an elevated kingdom. A small orchestra played a romantic melody in the corner, and the wait staff moved with silent, unobtrusive efficiency.
"Percy," Gemini breathed, completely overwhelmed. "You booked the entire rooftop, for us?"
"Yes I did," Percy confirmed, his smile wide and genuine. He took Gemini's hand and led him to the private table near the ledge.
"I called in a few favors with the management," Percy explained, pulling out his chair. "I wanted tonight to be completely about us. No distractions, no corporate talk—just the two of us, and the best view in the city."
The view was breathtaking: the entire cityscape glittered below them, a sea of diamonds stretching to the horizon. It felt as if the whole city was their audience, quietly witnessing their joy.
Percy sat down, his gaze fixed solely on Gemini, his eyes brimming with affection. "Tonight is about you, Bunny. Just, relax and enjoy yourself."
Gemini smiled, a profound sense of security washing over him. This extravagant gesture wasn't just a splurge; it was Percy's promise—loud, clear, and etched in the city lights—that nothing would ever come before them again.
"I know this is my first date ever but I'm allowed to say it's the most beautiful date" Gemini said above a whisper, reaching across the table to squeeze Percy's outstretched hand with a smile.
