Chapter 233 - Chapter 233

Blue steam swept across the battlefield!

The surrounding shinobi were stunned by the force of the airwave. They raised their arms to shield their eyes and squinted through the haze, struggling to see what was happening.

Kakashi was stunned. As Guy's close friend, he understood all too well the cost of opening the Eight Gates. Guy had opened the Seventh Gate—the Gate of Wonder—which was only one step away from the Gate of Death. The sheer intensity of his chakra and rage was undeniable.

The swirling mist was obliterated by the raging steam, clearing the vision of the allied shinobi. Light returned to the battlefield as visibility was restored.

Lee shouted with tears in his eyes, "Guy Sensei !"

The Eight Gates Released Formation took a terrible toll on the body. The first three gates were manageable, but from the fourth onward, the risk to the user increased exponentially. Guy had jumped straight to the Seventh Gate. To Lee, who also trained in the Eight Gates, it was a humbling, awe-inspiring moment. He hated that he couldn't yet stand shoulder to shoulder with his sensei.

Kuriarare Kushimaru's eyes narrowed. "No doubt about it. This aura... he's the son of that bastard!"

With a sonic boom, Guy appeared before him in a flash of blue. Kushimaru's eyes widened. "What the hell?!"

"Yah ho!" Guy roared.

His fist pierced through Kushimaru's chest with a deafening crack. Kushimaru could only look down at the fist that had torn through him, eyes wide in disbelief.

"Why is it me again... killed in one move, just like last time..."

Guy's eyes burned with fury. "You are not allowed to insult my father!"

He threw a rising punch, and Kushimaru's upper body was blown apart, severed by the raw power of the blue steam.

"You bastard!" growled Jinpachi Munashi, charging with his long blade.

Guy responded instantly. With a sharp breath, he raised his foot and launched a blindingly fast kick straight into Jinpachi's face, sending him flying and shattering his head in a single blow.

The allied shinobi were left stunned.

Especially the Kirigakure-nin. Their worldview had been turned upside down. In mere moments, two members of the legendary Seven Ninja Swordsmen had been killed.

Kabuto felt a cold sweat. As the caster of the Edo Tensei, he hurriedly attempted to reassert control over their bodies.

Jinpachi roared, "Attack together! Go for his blind spots! He's fast, but let me blow him apart with my Explosive Blade!"

He unrolled a long scroll of explosive tags and wrapped it around his blade.

"Let's see if you can survive this!"

Ameyuri Ringo and the Pufferfish Gozu joined the assault, attacking in unison.

Meanwhile, Mangetsu Hōzuki held back, blending into the background with Kabuto's shared consciousness.

Guy snorted. With the enemy closing in, he raised his arms and shouted, "Hirudora!"

White steam erupted from his fist, forming the image of a roaring tiger. The Daytime Tiger charged toward the attackers with an earth-shattering roar.

Jinpachi screamed, "What kind of technique is that?!"

They had believed only Might Duy had used that move in the past. But now, Guy had mastered it too.

The Daytime Tiger bared its fangs and engulfed the attackers. Mangetsu liquefied and fled underground, escaping. The rest weren't so lucky.

Ringo swung her Thunder Blade in desperation, trying to cleave through the tiger. "This... This isn't even chakra!"

The lightning was useless. Hirudora was a compressed air technique, formed entirely from physical force—not chakra. The realization came too late.

Jinpachi's explosive blade ignited.

"Damn it...!"

BOOM!

The explosion rocked the battlefield. Guy was thrown from the blast radius.

"Sensei Guy!" Lee cried out. He rushed to catch his teacher, both tumbling to the ground.

Guy opened his eyes and smiled weakly. "Sorry, Lee."

Lee, tears flowing, said, "Sensei... you were amazing!"

Guy laughed softly.

Opening the Seventh Gate and using Hirudora had taken its toll, but it had also shattered the enemy formation.

Kakashi acted immediately, dashing toward the remnants of Kushimaru and Jinpachi.

"Saltwater!"

"On it!" responded the Yamanaka-nin Saltwater.

Using the Shadow Imitation Technique, Saltwater pinned the dismembered corpses. Maki advanced under protection and unfurled a sealing cloth.

"Captain Kakashi!"

"Do it!"

Maki activated the Binding Sealing Technique, sealing both bodies in swift succession.

Meanwhile, the fragments of Jinpachi, Ameyuri, and the Pufferfish Ghost began reassembling. Edo Tensei ensured they could regenerate, unless sealed.

Mangetsu reformed effortlessly, having suffered no damage.

Kabuto cursed under his breath. "This Guy is a serious threat. Seven Gates... he nearly wiped out my entire formation! I need to change tactics!"

As the reformed swordsmen tried to retreat, Kakashi launched his next attack.

"You're not escaping! Raikiri!"

With a flash of lightning, Kakashi severed the half-regenerated bodies of Jinpachi, Ringo, and the Pufferfish Ghost.

Mangetsu attempted to retaliate.

"Yamanaka Inoichi!" Kakashi called out.

"Mind Transfer Jutsu!"

Inoichi's technique connected with Mangetsu, catching him off guard.

Kabuto immediately performed a release jutsu and severed the link.

Inoichi gasped, falling back. "I saw the location and the caster. But I couldn't pinpoint the exact place!"

"Still helpful," Kakashi nodded.

Maki wasted no time. Using the moment of hesitation caused by the possession, she cast her Binding Technique, capturing the regenerating bodies again.

Allied shinobi swarmed in to assist. The pressure overwhelmed the reanimated swordsmen.

Mangetsu retreated into the mist, Kabuto using the Kirigakure no Jutsu to cover their escape.

Kakashi didn't pursue.

"Seal the captured ones first! Don't rush. We're low on manpower here."

"Sai," Kakashi called, "we need your Root-style sealing jutsu. Mangetsu won't be caught easily otherwise."

Sai hesitated. "Captain Kakashi, I... that jutsu is from Danzo—"

Kakashi interrupted, gently. "Danzo is gone. You don't have to live in his shadow anymore. Trust in yourself. Just do it. I believe in you."

Sai's eyes widened at the unexpected encouragement. Then he nodded, determination rising.

"Understood, Kakashi-san. I'll do it."

With that, the next phase of sealing began—with hope and vengeance burning on the battlefield.
