The Hyūga Clan compound.
Naruto, Minato, and Kushina had come to formally propose marriage.
Knowing Naruto would be arriving today, Hinata had carefully chosen a brand-new dress. She stood in front of the mirror earlier that morning, making sure every detail was perfect, wanting to appear more beautiful in his eyes.
Hyūga Hiashi, the head of the clan, had ordered the servants to clean the mansion thoroughly and prepare to host their distinguished guests. Even the usually stern Hiashi seemed to carry a faint sense of anticipation.
At ten o'clock in the morning, Kushina walked proudly at the front, Minato followed with his calm composure, and Naruto trailed behind them. Of course, Naruto being Naruto, he had created twenty Shadow Clones through his Multi Shadow Clone Jutsu, each clone carrying heavy gifts as they marched into the Hyūga residence.
"Welcome, Fourth Hokage-sama! Welcome, Kushina-sama!" Hiashi greeted warmly, wearing a fresh set of ceremonial robes. His younger brother, Hyūga Hizashi, followed close behind, his gaze immediately falling on the many Narutos carrying large packages. Surprised by the sheer number, Hizashi quickly ordered several clan members to step forward and relieve Naruto of the gifts.
Kushina smiled brightly, her usual fiery spirit shining in her tone. "Hello, Hiashi-sama! It's good to see you again."
Minato gave a respectful nod.
Once the Hyūga members took the offerings from Naruto, he dispelled the Shadow Clones with a puff of smoke.
"Na–Naruto!"
Hinata came rushing out of the house, her pale lavender eyes shimmering with joy. She stopped in front of him, her cheeks faintly red, and Naruto froze for a moment.
His eyes lit up — he had never seen Hinata wearing a one-piece dress before.
Hinata noticed his gaze and shyly tugged at the hem of her dress. "Does it… look good?" she asked softly, her voice almost trembling.
Naruto smiled widely and nodded without hesitation. "You look beautiful, Hinata. Honestly, you'd look good in anything."
Hinata pouted playfully, her blush deepening. "You've learned how to be cunning too, Naruto-kun."
From the side, Hizashi chuckled and leaned toward Minato and Kushina. "Look at them. My niece… I wish she could marry Naruto right away and stay by his side forever."
Hiashi gestured toward the mansion. "Come, please, everyone. Let us sit inside."
The group entered the spacious Hyūga main hall, where the elders had already gathered. Once everyone was seated, tea was served.
"Tch."
A scoff cut through the room. Neji walked in, arms crossed, and sat directly beside Naruto. His expression was sharp as ever.
Naruto smiled, unfazed. "It's been a few days, Neji. Good to see you."
Neji narrowed his eyes. "Hmph. I never would have thought… that the same boy who struck me down during the Chūnin Exams would one day become my brother-in-law."
Naruto raised his teacup calmly. "What's the problem? Don't you think it's great to have such an excellent brother-in-law?"
Neji looked at him seriously and replied, "Not satisfied."
"Brother Neji!" Hinata stood quickly, her voice firm — uncharacteristically so. "I won't allow you to be dissatisfied with Naruto!"
Neji froze. The firmness in her tone left him speechless.
Naruto, on the other hand, beamed with pride and reached over to take Hinata's delicate hand. His heart warmed — his future wife truly was the best.
The Hyūga elders cleared their throats and began their formal discussion.
Minato glanced at Hiashi. "We should follow the traditional wedding etiquette of Konoha."
Hiashi nodded. "Of course. There will be no problem, Fourth Hokage-sama. Everything will be arranged according to tradition."
Kushina leaned forward earnestly. "Hiashi-sama, you know Minato and I were both resurrected. In truth, Naruto is still an orphan. There isn't really anyone who can oversee his marriage on his side of the family. That's why… we'll be relying heavily on the Hyūga clan to help with the arrangements. Please forgive us for the trouble."
Hiashi waved dismissively, smiling. "Kushina-sama, Fourth Hokage-sama, I had already thought of this. The Hyūga are a proud and well-established clan in Konoha. As Hinata's father, I will ensure her wedding is flawless. She is the eldest daughter of our clan — the apple of my eye. I cannot afford to be careless with her marriage."
Hizashi nodded firmly in agreement. "Yes, and Naruto is the hero who ended the Fourth Great Ninja War, the man who brought peace to the shinobi world. His union with Hinata must be a grand event. We'll handle everything with the utmost care."
Naruto grew quiet, his expression softening.
In his previous life, Hiashi had arranged everything as well. At that time, Naruto had nothing — no parents, no clan, nothing but the title of a war hero. It was the Hyūga who had given him a proper wedding.
In a sense, Naruto had "married into" the Hyūga family back then.
Now, reborn, it was happening again. But this time… his parents were alive to witness it. His chest tightened with emotion.
Naruto's eyes wandered toward Neji, who was glaring at him suspiciously. Naruto couldn't help but grin mischievously.
Neji frowned. "Why are you looking at me like that?"
Naruto chuckled. "I was just picturing what it would be like when my future son and daughter play with you. It'll be quite the sight."
Neji blinked, startled. His jaw dropped. "What nonsense are you spouting? That's still a long way off!"
But then he froze, realization dawning. His eyes widened. "Wait… is Hinata-sama pregnant already?"
Naruto choked on his tea. "Huh?! Wh–what are you even talking about, Neji?!"
The room fell into chaos.
"What?! Hinata is pregnant?!"
"Is that true?!"
"No way…"
"Impossible!"
Hiashi, Hizashi, Minato, and Kushina all gasped in shock.
Kushina immediately rushed to Hinata, grasping her hands. "Hinata! Is it true? Do you already have Naruto's child?"
Minato turned to his son, his normally calm demeanor breaking into anger. "Naruto! Look at what you've done! How could you be so reckless?"
One of the Hyūga elders stroked his beard thoughtfully. "Well, though it doesn't follow strict etiquette… it's not necessarily a bad thing."
Neji shot to his feet, glaring at Naruto. "Naruto! I treated you like a brother, but you—! You can't board the ship first and then buy the ticket later!"
Naruto's face twisted in confusion. "What the hell are you even talking about, Neji? Hinata isn't pregnant!"
Neji crossed his arms stubbornly. "Then why did you mention your son and daughter playing with me? What else was I supposed to think?"
Naruto inhaled sharply, nearly bursting from frustration.
Neji smirked slyly. "Hmph. You're flustered. That means I struck a nerve, didn't I? You slipped, Naruto. Admit it!"
Naruto clenched his fists, his patience nearly gone. He had half a mind to slam a Rasengan into Neji's smug face and let him taste spinning meatballs firsthand.
"I was joking!" Naruto snapped. "It was just a joke, Neji! You should know that. Besides, Hinata and I—"
"Yes. I'm pregnant."
Everyone froze.
Naruto's head whipped toward Hinata, eyes wide. "Hinata?!"
Hinata tilted her chin upward, her face flushed but proud. "What? You don't want to take responsibility, Naruto-kun?"
Naruto stammered. "I—what—Hinata—"
Hinata huffed. "Brother Neji is right. He treats you like family, yet you tried to hide it from him. That's not fair, Naruto-kun!"
Kushina gasped dramatically, hugging Hinata's shoulders. "Oh, poor girl! And you've been keeping it a secret this whole time! Naruto, how could you do this to her?"
Minato, though exasperated, couldn't suppress his smile. "So… I'm going to be a grandfather soon?" He chuckled to himself.
The Hyūga elder clapped his hands. "Excellent! This child will be the bond that ties the Hyūga clan and Naruto together even more strongly."
Hiashi nodded approvingly, though Hizashi raised a suspicious brow. He knew Hinata's childhood habit — she always clenched her hands whenever she told a lie. And right now, her fingers were twisting together nervously.
Naruto buried his face in his hands, completely defeated.
Why, Hinata? Why say that out loud?
