When Kakashi was in the Academy, he was extremely popular with girls—very similar to how Sasuke would be years later.
He had striking white hair, a cool and distant personality, the reputation of being the son of the White Fang, a prestigious background in the Hatake clan, and extraordinary talent in ninjutsu. Naturally, girls were drawn to him.
Otherwise, Rin wouldn't have admired him the way she did.
Guy noticed Rin cheering for Kakashi from the sideline, her hands clasped together in excitement. Only Obito stood apart, arms crossed, glaring at Kakashi as though he wished he could knock him flat on the ground.
Alright then. Obito, I'll fulfill your wish.
Guy stretched his arms and legs, warming up. Even though he had shouted "Konoha Great Whirlwind" earlier, he hadn't actually used the full technique—his younger body simply wasn't capable of that level of rotation yet. He had only used a fast whip kick.
But that didn't change the fact that his taijutsu instincts were sharp, and his battle awareness—preserved from his adult self—was still intact.
He grinned.
Hahaha, Kakashi… this time, I'm going to knock you down!
Kakashi, on the other hand, had realized he needed to get serious. The Guy in front of him was far stronger than he remembered. His taijutsu was dangerous. If Kakashi underestimated him now, he'd suffer for it.
So Kakashi formed a brief seal.
Clone Technique — Bunshin no Jutsu!
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Suddenly, three Kakashis appeared around him.
The Chūnin instructor who oversaw the sparring widened his eyes in approval.
"Kakashi, excellent! Using three clones at once to confuse your opponent's vision—this is a clever feint tactic!"
Guy shouted back with determination, "Watch me break it!"
He charged forward instantly, spinning and launching a precise whip kick. One Kakashi clone moved in and blocked the attack.
The Chūnin instructor nodded, impressed.
"The real body found on the first strike. Good instincts!"
Guy smirked and spun into another whip kick, only to have the second one intercepted by another Kakashi.
The instructor's eyes widened.
"What? That one is an actual physical clone!"
Guy immediately understood.
These weren't regular clones. These were Shadow Clones—Kage Bunshin.
Real bodies. Solid. Capable of fighting independently.
But that didn't matter. Guy felt certain he would win.
He retreated briefly, then lunged forward to attack again.
All four Kakashis—three clones and the real one—charged in from four different angles, creating a perfect four-point offensive formation.
The Chūnin instructor, stunned, whispered under his breath:
"As expected of the son of the White Fang… he can already use Kage Bunshin at such a young age."
One of the students tugged the teacher's sleeve.
"Teacher, is the Shadow Clone Jutsu really powerful?"
The teacher nodded seriously.
"Yes. It's a B-ranked ninjutsu created by the Second Hokage. Unlike regular clones, these are physical clones with their own awareness and combat capability. They can withstand attacks and move independently."
The students gasped in awe.
Rin's eyes sparkled.
"Wow… Kakashi is amazing!"
Obito clenched his fists.
"Tch! What's so great?! I'll surpass him someday!"
The instructor smiled lightly, imagining Kakashi's future potential. It was limitless.
But then, he suddenly stiffened.
Why?
Because under the coordinated assault of four fully physical attackers, Guy was still handling everything effortlessly. Every dodge, every punch, every footwork step—Guy's movements were clean, precise, and almost overwhelming.
He was targeting Kakashi's blind spots with frightening accuracy.
Kakashi gritted his teeth.
What's with this Guy? Why is he so strong? His strikes hurt—and he has endless stamina!
Guy, meanwhile, grew more and more excited. Even though this was his younger body, his older self's combat experience made him unstoppable.
Four Kakashis? I can handle this. I've fought Jinchūriki and Madara. This is nothing!
Kakashi tried to retreat, but Guy noticed the opening instantly.
"OOPS!"
Guy's eyes lit up.
"We caught your weakness!"
He punched the nearest Kakashi clone square in the face.
POOF!
The clone dispersed in a puff of white smoke.
Gasps echoed through the crowd.
Guy spun mid-air, bracing one hand on the ground and unleashing a double spinning kick. The remaining two clones rushed in at the same time—
BANG! BANG!
Both clones vanished instantly.
Only the real Kakashi remained.
"Kakashi… it's your turn now!"
Guy rushed forward. Kakashi quickly pulled out several kunai and threw them in a quick succession. Guy knocked each one aside effortlessly.
Forced into close combat, Kakashi met Guy head-on. The two exchanged blows—fists colliding, kicks clashing.
But Guy's punches were heavier.
Stronger.
More decisive.
After a few rounds—
Kakashi was launched backward by a single powerful punch.
He crashed into the ground, skidding several meters.
"WINNER!!!"
Obito leapt into the air cheering wildly.
"Hahaha! Kakashi, even YOU lose sometimes!"
His excitement evaporated when he realized he was the only one cheering. All the other students—even Rin—were staring at him.
Obito scratched his head awkwardly.
"A-Ah… Rin, don't misunderstand, I just…"
Rin huffed and looked away, unimpressed. Obito wilted in embarrassment.
Kakashi lay on the ground, angry and frustrated, pounding his fist lightly into the dirt.
Nothing had gone according to plan.
The Chūnin instructor raised his arm proudly.
"Winner—Might Guy!"
But no one clapped. They were all Kakashi fans, after all.
Guy walked toward Kakashi and held out his hand.
Kakashi hesitated, staring at Guy's bright smile, unsure what to think.
Was Guy here to mock him?
But Guy simply said, sincerely:
"Kakashi, get up."
Kakashi snorted, grabbed Guy's hand, and let himself be pulled to his feet.
"You won… but next time, I'm taking back that victory."
Guy smiled. "Okay, okay!"
Kakashi frowned. "How did you keep attacking my weak points? Every single time?"
Guy pointed to his head.
"Consciousness. You lost to my experience. Your ninjutsu and taijutsu are already superior. I only won because I used my brain."
Kakashi blinked in surprise.
…This guy is actually reliable. Way more than Obito.
Guy laughed.
"To be honest, it feels incredible to beat you. I've always wanted to win… but somehow, we always ended up tied."
"I remember the last time we fought like this, it was also a tie. If I say that, I bet you're confused!"
Kakashi stared at him.
"Nonsense. This is our first fight."
Guy sighed dramatically.
"So this is what it feels like to be reborn. I understand Naruto a little now."
Kakashi frowned.
"Who is Naruto?"
Guy smirked.
"You'll find out someday."
He offered the Seal of Reconciliation.
"Thank you, Kakashi. For always being with me."
Kakashi, confused but respectful, returned the seal.
The moment their hands touched—
WHOOOOSH!!!
Guy was yanked upward as if pulled by an invisible force. The sky exploded into white light.
"I swear—WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO ME AGAIN?!"
Guy's vision exploded.
Then—
He jolted awake in his wheelchair.
The table was still covered with empty beer bottles. His house was dim and quiet. His heart was pounding.
Guy blinked, leaned back, and exhaled deeply.
"Ah… it turned out to be a dream."
A small, genuine smile tugged at his lips.
It was a good dream.
In that dream… he had finally fulfilled a wish he'd carried for years:
He beat Kakashi. Fair and square.
