Kakashi's eyes were firm, his tone resounding — the kind of tone that made it clear his decision would not change.
Orochimaru looked at him and gave a faint smile.
Kakashi's determination, his posture, his voice — everything said the same thing. He wanted to grow stronger and stand beside Naruto before the war reached its peak. Orochimaru understood it clearly. Kakashi understood it even more deeply.
Naruto, watching his teacher stand before him with such resolve, felt something twist inside his chest.
"Kakashi-sensei…"
Naruto looked directly at him. Kakashi met his gaze and smiled.
"Naruto… forgive me. I can't allow you to stand in front of me alone. I want to grow too. When you face the real battle… let me contribute my strength."
With those words, Kakashi turned toward Orochimaru.
"Lord Orochimaru, please help me transplant the Sharingan."
Orochimaru exhaled slowly. "Very well. I have no objection. As long as Naruto agrees, I will perform the surgery."
Kakashi looked to Naruto. Naruto considered the situation for a few seconds, then sighed softly.
"…Alright, Kakashi-sensei. I agree."
Kakashi's face instantly lit with relief and gratitude. "Thank you, Naruto. Thank you for choosing to trust me."
Naruto gave a faint smile.
"Kakashi-sensei… you're right. You shouldn't abandon any chance to grow stronger. You adapted to the Sharingan. You earned the title of Copy Ninja. So I support your decision. Let that title echo across the shinobi world again."
Kakashi nodded with a soft smile.
Naruto then rolled up his sleeve, revealing the embedded Sharingan sealed into his forearm.
Previously, to strengthen his abilities, Naruto had transplanted all the remaining Sharingan into his arm so that if a future war turned fatal, he could use the forbidden technique Izanagi to rewrite death itself.
Now, if Kakashi wished to regain the Sharingan, Naruto was willing to help.
"Uncle Snake… begin the transplant."
Orochimaru glanced at Naruto, eyes narrowing slightly. "Have you truly decided?"
Naruto nodded. "Yes. Help Kakashi-sensei."
Orochimaru sighed. "But think carefully. The Sharingan sealed inside your arm has only awakened the basic tomoe. None of them have evolved into Mangekyō Sharingan. Kakashi adapted to Obito's Mangekyō before. That compatibility matters. If you transplant a normal Sharingan now, it won't match his previous ability, and it may not reach its old potential."
Naruto frowned. "What do you mean, Uncle Snake?"
Orochimaru looked at Kakashi.
"My opinion is simple: Kakashi should transplant Obito's eye again. Kakashi already adapted to Kamui. And Obito's Mangekyō is the one Kakashi's body has proven compatible with. If he uses a different Uchiha's eye, even if they're from the same clan, the genetic differences could trigger rejection."
Kakashi lifted both hands helplessly.
"But I returned Obito's eye to him. If I take it back… what happens to Obito?"
Orochimaru smirked.
"Isn't Naruto standing right here with another Sharingan? He can give a replacement to Obito again. And besides — Obito can reawaken Mangekyō through emotional stimulation. He's done it before."
"You, Kakashi, cannot evolve the Sharingan. You lack Uchiha blood. Obito can."
Orochimaru turned back to Naruto.
"So if Kakashi truly wishes to grow stronger quickly, this is the least risky path. Otherwise, changing eyes again may cause lasting rejection. Even among the Uchiha, every individual's bloodline pattern differs. Compatibility varies dramatically."
Orochimaru remembered all too clearly the tragic results of past experiments with Hashirama's cells. Even father and son could differ in compatibility. The body rejected anything not already adapted.
Naruto slowly nodded.
"Uncle Snake… that makes sense. Fine. We'll do it your way."
Kakashi looked shocked.
"You're agreeing so easily…?"
Naruto didn't explain. Instead, he pressed two fingers together.
"I'll go talk to Obito."
He flashed away with Flying Raijin before Kakashi could even lift his hand to stop him.
Kakashi sighed. "Why does he always rush things…"
Orochimaru chuckled. "Since you've decided to grow stronger, hesitation will only slow you down."
Ten seconds later, Naruto returned — dragging Obito and Rin with him.
"Kakashi? Orochimaru? Kabuto?"
Obito blinked, looking around in confusion. He had been casually walking with Rin when Naruto suddenly appeared, grabbed both of them, and said "Come with me."
Rin simply followed quietly, used to Naruto's impulsive behavior.
Obito crossed his arms. "What is all this?"
Naruto didn't waste time.
"Obito, Kakashi needs your help."
Kakashi stepped forward. "Let me explain."
He told Obito everything — the reasoning, the plan, the risks.
When he finished, Obito stared silently, then sighed and smirked at Kakashi.
"I told you before — I'd give it to you. You were the one who shoved it back at me. Now look at this mess. A transplant again?"
He shrugged and turned to Orochimaru.
"Fine. Do it. If Kakashi wants his strength back, like hell I'm going to say no."
Rin tugged Obito's sleeve. "Obito… will it hurt?"
Obito squeezed her hand gently.
"It's fine. Orochimaru will give me anesthesia. I won't feel a thing."
Kabuto began preparing surgical tools immediately.
Kakashi bowed his head slightly.
"Obito… thank you."
Obito snorted.
"I owe you plenty from our past life. Don't make a big deal out of it."
Under Orochimaru's instructions, Kakashi and Obito laid down on the operating tables.
"Kabuto, prepare them for anesthesia. I'll first extract one of Naruto's Sharingan."
Naruto moved to another table, placing his arm out. After the anesthetic kicked in, Orochimaru sliced cleanly, removing one Sharingan from Naruto's arm and placing it in disinfectant.
Naruto healed his arm instantly with the Nine Tails' chakra.
Once ready, Orochimaru signaled Kabuto.
"General anesthesia for both of them."
Kabuto nodded. "Understood."
Within moments, Kakashi and Obito drifted into unconsciousness. Rin clasped her hands tightly, watching with obvious worry.
The surgery was swift. Orochimaru and Kabuto moved with expert precision, completing the transplant in under ten minutes.
When they wrapped both patients in bandages, Orochimaru turned to Naruto.
"Your turn. Help them heal."
Naruto entered Kurama Chakra Mode, manifesting two glowing chakra arms and placing them over both bodies.
Kabuto joined with medical ninjutsu, linking optic nerves and stabilizing the transplanted Mangekyō.
Ten minutes later, the procedure was complete.
They only needed to wake.
During the waiting period, Orochimaru leaned toward Naruto and whispered a suggestion.
Naruto's eyes widened in shock.
"Uncle Snake… that's so cruel! That's too inhumane!"
Orochimaru shrugged.
"Otherwise, how will Obito evolve another Mangekyō? You can't give him one Mangekyō and one ordinary Sharingan."
Rin stepped forward, smiling gently.
"Naruto… it's okay. I'm an Edo Tensei. I can't really die. Only Obito will feel pain… and he can endure it. For the future of the shinobi world, this is the only way."
Naruto groaned.
"Fine… I'll buy him ramen later."
Hours later, Kakashi woke first.
He sat up, hand covering his eye. "Ah…"
Naruto walked over. "Kakashi-sensei, how do you feel?"
Kakashi tilted his head, then smiled.
"Surprisingly… good. I can feel the movement of the eye."
Kabuto stepped forward. "You can remove the bandage now."
The earlier healing from Naruto and Kabuto had already perfectly fused the eye.
Kakashi removed the gauze — revealing the restored Mangekyō Sharingan.
Naruto grinned.
"Congratulations, Kakashi-sensei. The Copy Ninja returns."
Kakashi blinked several times, savoring the familiar sensation.
"Yes… this is it."
"Where's Obito?" he asked.
Kabuto smirked.
"Oh, I gave him a slightly larger dosage so you'd wake first."
Kakashi frowned. "Why?"
Naruto sighed and explained Orochimaru's earlier plan.
Kakashi's face immediately darkened.
"What!? That's too unfair to Obito. I refuse! That can't—"
Orochimaru raised a brow.
"Then you'll simply have one Mangekyō… and Obito will have one as well. Is that acceptable to you?"
Kakashi hesitated.
"This…"
Rin walked over to him, smiling softly.
"Kakashi… we don't have any other options. For the sake of the shinobi world… this is necessary."
Kakashi's shoulders sagged.
"…Alright."
