Chapter 18 - chapter 18

what is Italy…?"

Alfred couldn't believe what he was hearing. "What." He looked at Matthew. "Don't look at me as if I did it!" Alfred sighed. "Sorry."

Matthew grabbed his polar bear. "It's alright.."

"Well, what happens to Italy now?"

Alfred thought for a moment. Without Italy, what would Europe be like? No pasta, no great food.. No pizza.. . NO PIZZA? Damn it. Whoever was behind it will pay. "Could this have something to do with the note you found? About like.. 'All will die' or something?" Matthew pointed out.

"Not sure.. But whoever did this will pay a great amount.." Matthew face palmed. "Are you just saying this because you miss pizza more then you miss Feliciano?" Alfred chuckled. "No, no."

Matthew shrugged. "Its tiring being just a colony sometimes.. And also tiring being with you." Alfred starred. "You serious right now?" Matthew shook his head. Alfred pointed at himself. "You better not be, because I'm the HERO!" Matthew swore he saw a faint American flag behind Alfred. But then, it disappeared. Sometimes Alfred could be a bit.., odd sometimes.

Alfred then got back to mourning Feliciano. He missed the funny, positive dummy.

"Pasta!" Feliciano said with glory. "Yes, Pasta." Alfred smiled. The world meeting was going well, Feliciano made everybody pasta, out of his own generosity. " Well, Do you like it?! Is it good?" Alfred nodded while gobbling the pasta. "Mhm!" He said while eating violently. "Alfred, don't eat while talking. Gross." Arthur pointed out. "Your not the judge of me, Eyebrows!" Feliciano grinned. "Glad you like it.."

"I see more! The damn future always speaks to me!" He sighed, coughing some more. "And I can't do anything then pretend.."

door swung shut behind him. Sakuno took a step forward, intent on breaching the distance between them, but her hopes deflated as the bus rolled away, disappearing into the throng of excited fans and flashing cameras.

With a heavy heart, she let out a soft sigh, "Congratulations, Ryoma-kun," her voice barely audible amidst the cheering crowd. The words floated into the air, mingling with the exhilaration that enveloped the arena.

Next to her, Tomoka took her breath after running, her arms crossed and pouting, broke the silence. "Too bad we can't meet him," she lamented. "I wanted to get a picture or an autograph… or at least scream 'Ryoma-sama!' to his face!"

Sakuno smiled weakly, "he must be busy... probably flying back to the US soon," Sakuno replied, forcing a small laugh, but inside, melancholy settled like a stone in her chest.

Tomoka studied her closely. "You okay?"

"Yeah, I'm glad he's doing well," Sakuno replied, masking the storm of emotions swirling within her. But deep down, a question lingered, haunting her thoughts: 'Will we ever meet again?'

What Sakuno didn't know was that fate had other plans, already weaving the threads of their lives closer, even as she felt the distance yawning infinitely between them.
