Chapter 415 - There Were Always Cats

"What?"

Hearing Jason suddenly say such strange words, Tara paused slightly, raised her head, and asked, "Is there... something else in the forest?"

"Well, there should be..."

Jason rubbed his head and endured his pain as he said, "According to everything I've read before, tigers travel alone most of the time, and only during the mating period do they gather until the female tiger gives birth to her cubs..."

"You mean... there might be cubs in the tiger's den?"

Even though Tara was slow, she reacted when she heard this, but soon showed a puzzled expression and said, "But what about those cubs? They don't have food on a day as bad as this. It will be hard for them to survive, so we shouldn't worry. Maybe you..."

Having said that, she raised her eyebrows, understood Jason's thoughts, and said, "Do you want to raise them?"

"I don't know, it's just a temporary idea that came to my mind..."

Jason simply sighed and said, "After all, the lethality of these tigers is not low. If they can be raised from a young age in captivity, it may have an unexpected effect on our organization."

"Your way of thinking is a bit dangerous."

Tara frowned slightly and reminded him, "Even if we really can raise them in captivity, this is a double-edged sword. If the arrangements are not appropriate, we may suffer before facing the enemy, and..."

She shook the freshly cut piece of meat on the cutting board and said, "And a big guy like this is fine when it's young, but it eats a lot when it's older, and that isn't exactly a positive either."

"Mm, Ezekiel has a lot of experience with tigers, but we're still not sure there are any tigers."

Jason waved his hand, and suddenly a strong smell of meat came from behind, and his stomach immediately began to growl.

"Aren't you hungry?"

Hearing this voice, Tara couldn't help but joke, then placed a steaming bowl of pork rib soup in front of Jason and said, "Hurry up and eat."

Jason wasn't polite either. He took the soup spoon and gently blew on it, then began to taste it.

After eating the entire bowl of soup, his stomach was satisfied and his body began to warm up.

His mind became drowsy again and sleepiness returned. Jason shook his head, stood up with his crutches, and said, "After eating, I'll go sleep for a while."

"Alright."

Seeing the tired look on his face, Tara nodded with a bit of concern.

"It's fine, maybe I still haven't rested enough."

Unable to help yawning, Jason returned to his room step by step, lay down on the bed, and fell asleep again.

...

In the next few days, due to the continuous wind and heavy rain outside, Jason had been recovering in the room and focusing only on that, and he had also been doing some light exercises to reactivate the dormant muscles in his injured limbs.

The initial pain in his right arm and right leg had eased significantly, and it was estimated that he would be able to recover completely in less than a week.

As for the possibility that there were tiger cubs in the reserve, Tara also sincerely told Tommy and Daryl, and they mentioned that due to the severe weather they could not approach for now.

After the wind and snow subsided, Jason walked out of the house for a stroll.

The story of Jason fighting a tiger at close range spread throughout the entire base for some reason, so when he appeared, he quickly attracted the attention of the people around him, and everyone lowered their heads and began to discuss him.

"Is this true? I thought it was just a rumor!"

"Tommy said it himself, how can it be false? Daryl faced a bear, didn't you see the bodies?"

"It's really incredible..."

All kinds of comments reached Jason's ears, but he didn't care at all since it didn't cause him any discomfort... Well... He liked those rumors about himself.

"Hey, are you so free today?"

When Jason found Glenn, he saw Glenn sitting in a chair, looking extraordinarily calm.

Looking at Aifon walking away, Glenn put down the glass of water in his hand and said, "Shouldn't you be recovering properly? What are you doing here?"

"Isn't this more activity to help the wound recover?"

Jason smiled, found a chair, sat down, and said, "It seems the base is developing well and the food problem has been solved."

"It's also thanks to your efforts."

Glenn stood up slowly, poured a cup of hot water for Brian, and said, "A brown bear and two tigers are not just meat, but we also confiscated many weapons from the enemies. Although there are many corpses brought back, everyone here is inevitably used to it."

"Glenn! Look what I brought!"

At that moment, a car was heard outside, and Tommy and Daryl hurried in, looking extremely excited.

But when he saw Jason, the smile on his face widened and he said, "Jason, you're here too. What do you think this is?"

Looking at the cages in Tommy and Daryl's hands, Jason saw two tiger cubs lying quietly inside and said with some surprise, "They're cats, I can't believe it."

Daryl rolled his eyes and said, "Those cats are much bigger..."

Placing the cage on the table, Tommy said, "When we found them, there was food that had been eaten in the den. Unfortunately, we found one dead cub."

"So, why did you bring those cubs back?"

Regarding this pair of tiger cubs, Glenn jumped like a startled chicken and said, "We don't have enough food in this place, and raising such dangerous creatures—by the way, Jason, you almost died at their hands—is unacceptable."

"This…"

Hearing what Glenn said, Tommy scratched his head and turned to look at Jason, implying that since he wanted some cats, he had to deal with all of this.

"We'll return to the base, there won't be any problem giving one to Ezekiel..."

Daryl happily opened a cage.

"Wow wow wow..."

Suddenly disturbed from its sleep, the cub half-opened its confused eyes, its limbs began to move irregularly, and it made immature sounds.

"Since you have your cats, that should have ended your idea of looking for more cats."

At that moment, Tara entered the room and said, "Cats? Are you talking about the dozen cats in the central base? The children often play with them, they're very cute."

Jason and Daryl froze, turned their heads stiffly toward each other, and unconsciously said, "There are cats in the base?"
